So now that we are mostly stocked up we can now sit back and watch the vape market wiggle and squirm trying to meet FDA requirements from here on out. I feel so bad for vendors and them trying to comply only for 2 more years unless things change for predicate date. It is actually painful to watch!
What I've taken notice to is the pod-mod.

We're here begging everyone to get out there & fight for our right to vape yet some manufacturers have taken a different approach. The same ones we've been buying our subohm setups from have been working on closed systems known as pod-mods.

I get the sinking feeling that instead of pushing for what we currently have, they'll be pushing for an entirely different market of vapers......the still-smoker-who-never-tried-vaping-&-we-wanna-give-them-the-smoker-experience. I dont know if that's good or bad. :?:

Blu even had some sort of "social" option you could sign up for to "alert" you when there were other Blu users around you.
I completely forgot about that. The social option here was for these characters to hang out on corners showing off with a Blu.......they didn't need an app for that.

Many beginners want something that replicates the tactile and kinesthetics of smoking a cig. Ergo, ego. I think that is needed in the market.

I still remember being that smoker who had to have something that tasted and looked like a cigarette.

I was desperate to quit smoking but still had 'those' requirements. I used blu and safe-smoke when I started vaping and still remember how sore my face was from trying to a hit. LOL

It was only after being away from the real cigarettes that I realized the last thing I wanted was a vape that taste of cigarettes. I also didn't want my set up to look anything like a cigarette. Funny how your opinion changes once you get those stinkies gone from your life.

So, I imagine that lot of members here probably felt the same way when first starting so it's not out of scope that these companies will be catering to new people.

my first vape flavor was cigarettes @ 24mg,, I made myself stick with it......but I only tolerated 1 or 2 bottles of that flavor when I asked for anything different........I asked another customer at a vape shop what he was vaping and ordered the same thing...I vaped that for about 3 weeks,, and then kept trying out new flavors.

Most of us changed our gear and flavors but some will not do so plus they want simple so the pods and those types will remain popular. I helped a co-worker get set up with what was the best at the time, a 510 kit with menthol juice. I could never get her to try anything else except finally got her to move up to the mega 510 batts, lol. She has been with that same setup for over 5 years.

That's what I call a vaping success. Good job!!!

I worry about that too. Our open systems maybe going extinct as we watch what unfolds.

Sounds a bit like me- still using the 510 atties I started with going on 7 years ago. I just want to not smoke and I want the closest I can get to the cigarette experience. While I have DIYed my own juice for years, I had no desire to extend DIY to hardware, but the FDA has forced me into it. I believe I'd just have kept on with what I was doing: dripping on 510 atties and upgrading batteries as time went on*, if it weren't for The Deeming. This is really taking me out of my comfort zone.

*with one exception- I did purchase an Endura T22 kit, as it was advertised to offer a cigarette-like experience. I haven't gotten to use it because the paint they used on the mod smells so bad, I can't get it near my face. If it weren't for the smell, who knows, I might have found my new device, but it, too, is doomed under The Deeming.

(rant: When I get too old to build and wick and install my own coils, I won't even be able to turn to a shop to help me. Then I will be forced, by design, to turn to BP or BT products. There is no doubt in my mind that this is all by design.)

Looked them up last night while that thread was going. $15 for (4) 0.7 ml pods, how long will your $15 last?

So, I've become a pathetic hoarder  I found two remote control helicopter's that no longer worked. Instead of simply tossing them I took them apart so I could save all the tiny screws in them in case they fit any of my RBA's that might need replacement screws in the future.:lol: My parents who were teens during the depression would be so proud

A friend of a friend in town works for one of the bigger vape shops, that bought up the inventory of another shop that shut down this summer. My friend was shocked when I asked about stocking up, and she said her friend scoffed when she shared the news.

I'm a big local biz supporter, but find most vape shops in my town particularly hard to deal with. The staff are completely condescending when I ask their thoughts on the deeming, while sneering at my gear and me for paying Provape prices, etc. Thankful I was able to connect with the owners of a few shops, at least, and love hanging out with the incredibly diverse customers. June Cleaver meets biker gang, just like ECF...

I remember my first time in a vape shop like it was yesterday.

All of my memories are in yellowed black and white photographs... :?: All of the people standing at the glass cases and the guy at the counter blowing clouds. :vapor: So much time has passed, so many bottles of juice. Feels like years have passed... :D hahahaha, I started Sept 2015!!! :w00t: Sorry guys/gals.

That isn't what I am asking, I probably wasn't clear. I want to know how long the mod/battery lasts since you can't get replacement coils like we could attys for the ego, for instance. I can always refill my own liquid.

I was just reading on vape360.com about the varieties of mod pods. Looks like Mystic has one that takes 10ml pods and batt is 1700mah, vapes sub ohm. So that sounds like better version. Some are low batt mah and small pods, but some are refillable. Has anyone tried one???

That is the one I am thinking of. free kit, free extra pod mod.

    Maybe a day?

I believe that makes it more expensive than smoking in most parts of America. Add future taxes and the adoption rate of vaping will slow to a crawl.

    I started with a PigCig, it didn't even accept a 510
Thank goodness I found ECF before I bought anything else :thumb:

It did if you had the adapter, lol. I found a bunch of those adapters the other day.
