Is there a thread somewhere that explains MTL and DL, and the various classifications?
I'm sure there must be something around here. I tried to DL, but I just can't do it. I MTL anyways, but wanted to see what it was like to DL and just to awkward for me.

I felt the same a year ago when I tried DL. I tried it again recently and I am hooked on DL. It has been a month or two since I tried MTL, washed all my MTL tanks and put them away. I have 9 mods on my desk all with DL tanks/coils on them. So much more flavor and vapor doing DL hits. My juice consumption did triple or more though....

I have smoked for so long that MTL is all I know. I kind of want to go easy on my lungs now so I'm fine with MTL.

I agreed fozzy but I've gone through 20/30/50/75/80/150 & 200 watt mods. I've got 10 drippers and 30 dl tanks.
After going through 7 18650s a day and 20-25 ml of juice I thought this is so ridiculous it's becoming a nuisance dripping every 2 min all day.
Then I ordered some mtl clones. Disappointing, everyone.
I then bought an authentic kayfun lite 6 months ago for £50.
The best move I've ever made (vape related). I upped my nic to 12 from 3 mg. I go through 1 18650 now and 5 ml of juice, tops.
Decent vapor at 1.1 on my mech and man, flavour! Ha.
Juice never tasted so good. More satisfying for me. Now I just buy authentic high end gear. It is too much money but I can see why all dl tanks are 2 a penny. Authentic drippers on the other hand. hmm. got a vector the other day for £50. Nice.
For me, nice to use both.

I really want to try NETs, but does it really taste good? I stayed away from tobacco flavors, because it was hard to stop smoking. But I wonder if thats what I need to have a "perfect vape"

For myself, NET's scratched that little itch that I had to want a cigarette. That itch came about the 3 month mark into vaping. I didn't smoke...but those thoughts were there in the back of my mind waiting to pounce.

I never really understood the differences either. I vape like I smoked so I guess I am a DL? I am guessing that the MTL is holding in the vapor before inhaling it? Please correct me if I am incorrect.

Hang on LoriP, we will get to the bottom of this once and for all. LOL

If you google, you can find a ton of vids on this. MTL is like most people smoke. I will look for the vid I think is one of the best explanations.

Found it, hope it is ok to post a YT:

Thanks, I looked around at lunch (I'm at work), I always see it referenced, but never really knew, for sure.
Back to lurking, but will check it out more tonight. :)

Thanks Rose. But what is it called when you have many pv's going and some are MTL and others are DL(according to the explanations)?
    Let me try and explain.
When I recently started purchasing the sub ohm devices and the lower ohm tanks and heads, I did have to reduce my nic intake in those tanks because they are powerful and it did feel like your head was coming off if you didn't. Then I found the eleaf melo 2 and melo III tanks and use the .03 ohm coil from 17W on up, to around 25W(depending on juice). I can still vape these MTL with huge amounts of vapor production(to me this is very important) and still get a smooth, cooler vape. The advantages of doing this is I can reduce my level of nic, and also have a longer battery time on a charge. It may be that I am not using these devices as was originally intended but it works for me. The only downside is that I use a lot more juice. But since I DIY the cost is minimal.
    YMMV
    :)

Na. When most people smoked, they drag into their mouth first and then inhale into the lungs. Which is called mtl (mouth to lung). This is opposed to strong cigars when you usually (unless your hardcore), just puff away in your mouth but don't inhale.

Direct lung is just sucking on the drip tip and inhaling directly into the lungs. Obviously your lungs can take a larger volume than your mouth so the drags are much longer and therefore more vapor i.e more juice. :)

That is what I am thinking, we MTL vapers are pretty much out of luck in today's vape market. Think I'll get another Kayfun just to be safe :)
Totally agree. I bought a Kayfun monster mini and a serpent mini because i love tiny tanks best. I know they are both DLs but they were cheap and I thought if they are too airy & i cant fix that with some tinkering i'll rehome them. I also have a Kayfun lite plus & just found out I can get a glass tank that is shorter than the original.

It's really hard to find RBTAs that are really small - 2-2.5 mls. I thought about a goblin mini but I was told they are hard to wick correctly so they dont leak & i cant stand leaking.

All these are for the stash in case I decide to try something new down the road but cant shop for this stuff by then. I expect my GS Air-MS to stay my daily tank. Love that little tank.
