I had an (ego style) Johnson Creek Vea do that back when I first started vaping. Same situation as you, aluminum 510 receiver.
Was able to salvage it with a 510 to 510 connector, just like you've done.
Took it one step further though, my DH used just a little bit of JB Weld to secure the 510 connector since the receiver on the mod was so loose. It worked GREAT!!

It's up to you if you want to try it, I'd feel bad if it didn't for you and jacked up your mod, so think about it before you try it, but it did work great for me.

We tried it because as it was, mine was shot, and I had nothing to lose, even the 510 connector didn't stay in place.
So, if you get to that point...it might be worth a shot.
Worst case, you lose the 510 connector.

I'll keep that in mind. Mine still seems to have a few good threads down the bottom, enough to hold the connector in place. But if that fails I'll give the JB stuff a shot.

That's just one link I found.
Connector or adapter, I believe (and see) both terms are used.
There are several styles out there, you can just pick what will suit your needs best.
I personally like the ones that are "closed", those do not have a tiny hole in them...some do.
The ones that have the tiny hole are called open 510 connectors.
Although I don't know if all vendors get the technical anymore.

Heat sinks work too, and look great on the ProVari Mini.

ETA: Sorry, Nevermind, you said *tank* threads. My bad.

Guess you really need the closed type if you are going to keep it permanently on the mod, otherwise juice would drip through into the mod's 510 well and you wouldn't be able to get to it.

"Sub Ohm" does not always equate to "high power".

I couldn't agree more.I usually run around 40-45 watts now,but when i first started building sub ohm coils,i was running .4 ohms at 18-20 watts,and it was fantastic haha.

Yeah, you really do. (ETA: Unless you run a Bottom Feed, then you want the open 510 to 510)
That's why I just left it there even after I saw that Bea was looking for something for her tank.
It may be of benefit to someone else though.

I'm hoping something comes through to stop all this, but if not, knowing some of the tricks and knowlege of some of the little tools/gadgets/connectors, could make a big difference for someone down the road and keep them vaping, and their gear, at least functioning.
Might not be pretty, but it would still function.

That would work for me just fine. I use GS Air tanks that unscrew from the bottom to fill.

Ok good that is what I got, no glow when wicked and juiced I actually built this and and am vaping it! My first try at building anything Yippee! I must say I like rayon, I may have tried to use too much wick, flavor is a bit muted, but maybe that gets better as the coil breaks in?? But I can say this VVTF V2 is rebuild-able and even a novice like me did it LOL ! It is small so a magnifier and light is a must in my opinion.
edit: I watched people rebuilding the actual nautilus coils and this seems way easier IMO. I got two for $15 total on ebay. Using it in the Nautilus tank.

I bought 6 heat sinks on eBay, those are a "closed" type. I can round up a link.

I also have 6, or so...510 to 510 ego style. If you don't have any ego threaded top devices, you wouldn't need those at all.
A friend of mine who vapes, who uses ego style attys, and she *isn't* stocking up, since she may end up needing them someday I grabbed some of those too.
Still, they'd *work* in a pinch for anything 510 to keep it functional.

I think the most likely scenario would be user error/mishap, by accidentally crossing up the threads, that I could see happening to me. Not paying attention and putting something on too fast and getting the threads yinked up, and messing them up trying to get it back apart.

That's the thing. These things can happen to anyone when you least expect it. And normally we'd just go out and buy what we need. But these arent normal times so it's good to be prepared. And thanks for googling it for me.

You need to take it apart and tighten the 5mm bolt on the bottom. That is the positive post that is touching. There is a fix on the Attack of the (Kayfun Mini V3) Clones!
