I have a feeling once I try the Kayfun all my other tanks will go in storage stash box LOL!I had already left tge Pro Tank, Nautilus, and Subtank Nano before discovering Rayon.
i have the 500 ft box as well and love it. $15 for several lifetimes of wicking material ain't bad!I dropped by the local Sally's this weekend and picked up a box of Rayon.
Jumping jeepers Batman - that is one ^*%*% large box!
As luck would have it I had a new virgin tank that I had yet to build on. Two 8 wrap Ti 28AWG coils later and then need to somehow get the newfangled (to me) Rayon in there. After lots of rolling, twisting and compressing I got both coils and the juice channels stuffed with Rayon.
I primed it up with 0mg %100VG and reassembled with 1-2ml of same in the tank. It seems to vape well with no noticable flavor. Given I have so much of the stuff it is rather doubtful that I'll use cotton again.
I've been trying rayon again as I don't think I gave it a fair chance before deciding I didn't care for it. Used it the other day and it was good, but having issues with seeping juice in the AFC because of having to make the tails so thin. Have to work on making that balance.
So with rayon, I twisted it to get it in the coil, it squeaked but I wonder if I had it too full, when I pulled on it it was starting to pull the coil with it, should it still slide thru the coil without too much drag??
The biggest advantages to rayon IME is that it basically has no taste and the fact that it doesn't swell when it gets wet like cotton does. You can stuff the coil full and not worry about over wicking.

This tutorial is what I follow, it's AWESOME!! (Thanks Bronze!!So with rayon, I twisted it to get it in the coil, it squeaked but I wonder if I had it too full, when I pulled on it it was starting to pull the coil with it, should it still slide thru the coil without too much drag??
)OK .... OK I guess I have to get me some of that Rayon stuff

This is why you are getting a taste in the beginning, your putting it in a bit too tight if it's moving your coil.I make mine snug,it will try to pull at the coil just a bit,but will still slide through, and from the very first draw, all i taste is my juice, never any off taste at all.I love rayon, with cotton i always had to rewick every 2 days, with rayon i rewick about every 2 weeks haha.Mine are often so tight I have to hold the coil still with one hand/finger while I pull it thru with the other. You can also twist the back end of the rayon tight to help it slid thru the coil
I've used the rayon on the RBA of the Toptank mini so far. It's not leaking, but I can see liquid around the AFC holes.which tank?
I put so much in that I have ruined coils. I generally have to cut one side of the wick and twist it out when i remove it as well.So with rayon, I twisted it to get it in the coil, it squeaked but I wonder if I had it too full, when I pulled on it it was starting to pull the coil with it, should it still slide thru the coil without too much drag??
Seriously? Even with sweet juices? That would be so sweet... pun intended.I love rayon, with cotton i always had to rewick every 2 days, with rayon i rewick about every 2 weeks haha.
Trust me when i say "it will be money well spent",best vaping investment i ever made.OK .... OK I guess I have to get me some of that Rayon stuff (are the styrofoam heads included or extra?)

Thanks I will watch that! This tutorial is what I follow, it's AWESOME!! (Thanks Bronze!!)
The *only* thing I do differently is I pull my wick up through the bottom part or the KFL chimney, screw it on, then trim straight across, flush with the top.
Then I use tweezers to tuck the ends down into the "well" area.
Like I said, maybe beginner's luck, but I have had no problems.

I often do both. With 30g, just a finger on top of the coil, and twisting the rayon works well.Mine are often so tight I have to hold the coil still with one hand/finger while I pull it thru with the other. You can also twist the back end of the rayon tight to help it slid thru the coil
