ahh, about 2.5 hours from my buddy in Gary it appears. Not sure yet when I might make to down to Gary but will try to remember to let you know once I am planning my trip and if you still need Nic we can try and work something out.

When the Dooming first came out, I was already basically stocked up. Lots of holes to fill in, but mostly there already.

But, buying only orings, screws, wire, spare coils, cartos, and spares of RBAs that I already have gets boring. I just have to throw in something more fun every once in a while!

Only 27? About 15 of my mods are just the old-style non-VV momentary switch mods (RoughStack, Screwdriver, Bolt, AA battery box, etc.). After all, I've been collecting for 6 years now.

Since the majority of my collection is non-VV/VW (mechs and momentary-switch mods), I don't feel too guilty buying a VV/VW mod now and then. I don't need them. But, it adds color and fun to the stocking up.

LOL, no, the 27 was just off the top of my head for the # of new mods someone will have 6 months from now, when they say they're just getting all they need, before moving to want list. I'm over at some ridiculous number I don't even want to count, around 25 ProVari devices, equal pile of Dicodes, another 25+ random TC mods I got because they were interesting at the time (HΩ Wreckers, Therion, SX Mini, basically at least 2 or 3 of each gen of every high-end chipset like DNA, Yihi and oddball but interesting stuff that's about to vanish without a trace, like HΩ'a Insanity/FSK chip) and the usual pile of Heavy Metal Sculpture that's been accumulating for 7+ years of vaping (Super T, GP, GG); another 200 toppers ...and roughly 3 centuries of nic :) And that's for me, I also have the friends and family pile mostly consisting of Picos and ProVari mini 2.5s when they cost $20 towards the end-run of ProVape's we're going out of business sales + Kayfun lite+'s & Serpent minis to top all those. If the deeming regs get replaced with something reasonable I can always open a vape museum or B&M out of just the stuff in storage at my house.

I've been all set for a while, and stopped buying 10 of everything... so now I'm back to just adding cool new attys I can't live without.

Looking back across 7+ years of vaping... has vaping saved me .5 cents? I dunno, it's debatable. But I have a nice mountain of toys vs. what I'd have with smoking, which is my own personal garbage dump of ashes and cigarette butts. Also, I've got my lungs and health, so that's always good :)

The only aspect of all this where any savings come in is pretty new and DIY. I tried it off and on a few times over the years and always concluded I don't care/lack the time to deal with this, and was paying $25-$30 for 30mL of e-liquid. To make a long story short, stuck with DIY because now I have to learn it, liked it, got better at it, and stopped buying commercial e-liquids last year... The savings off that is more than enough to feed my current high-end atty collecting hobby :) The weird thing here is, when I try to vape high-end commercial e-liquid that I liked a year ago, more often than not my brain emits, wow... this tastes like over-flavored children's cough syrup, why did I like this?

Also, there's that voice which keeps waking up and saying, "Psssst, hey... Just get a 55gallon drum of Chemnovatic nic. As an investment. It's a commodity that's going nowhere but through the stratosphere in the very near future. Grey market nic on Tor .onion nodes + bitcoin payments is the very near future!"

Interesting to see many of you stocking up on multiples of the same mods you like today. Picos as an example.

Just curious if any of you have concerns that you might find something you like better or your current favorite gets updated or a better version comes out.

I ask as a friend has 5 unopened iStick 30's and about a half dozen Kanger KBox 40's (maybe 50w) and is starting to kick himself when he sees new $30-40 mods like my Alien and Battlestar.

Personally, I am happy that I bought a dozen Provaris and over 30 mech mods and consider myself stocked for life. I am now just buying the odd cheap mod for funzies to play around with low builds, TC, etc. I don't expect my $30 200w+ Chinese mods to last long, buy I really enjoy using them.

Don't want you to feel alone or deprived of one :), so here ya' go:

Eleaf iStick PICO Simple Kit - $30.00 : Rocky Mountain Vapor, The Mountain top of Electronic Cigarettes

It's even still available in Pink! Use the coupon code "turkey"...and it's 30% off the $30. So total cost is just $21.00, AND you get Free S/H since it's a minimum purchase of only $14 to get it! :D
My pink just arrived Saturday. Husband won't steal that one! Waiting for a stainless steel tank to arrive though as my black tanks look pretty silly on it. :p

At 20ish bucks a piece I feel fine about having a bunch of Picos. I am expecting a big payout from some real estate stuff later this year and will also add a few higher end mods and toppers to my collection. If I find out down the road I like a different inexpensive mod I'll start to stash those too and I always can use the Picos as gifts or backups or sell them.

That's an interesting concept; one that I've never thought about.

I guess that's something I should be concerned about, as I tend to get bored with things very easily. Like when I bought my very first PICO, I wouldn't use anything else because it was my favorite. But since adding an Alien, RX75 and RX200S to my collection, my PICO's don't see as much action anymore.

But at the same time, I do still enjoy them, and am even using one at this very moment. I'm hoping that by choosing to stock up on multiple types of mods (single battery, 2 battery, three battery, DNA, etc.) That I'll have too many options to get bored with any of them.

I'm thinking about 2 or 3. My mom lives in South Carolina, and I can either ship it there and have her send it to me, or she's supposed to be coming to visit this spring, and I could have her bring it then. Thanks for the suggestions, those ideas hadn't occurred to me. :)

There you go! If Mom is driving to come see you...problem solved! I wouldn't have her try to bring it though if she's flying.

..............and undeground nic smuggling is off to an early start. :D

I'm not personally concerned about it. I really like everything I've stocked up on, and would have no problem using any/all of it in the future to allow me to continue vaping. I got super deals on it, have replacement parts for everything for the future, and I really don't need/want the newest or the best as it comes out on the market.

If I was "into" the larger, higher wattage mods in the variety they're coming out with, or the newest tanks, or the new technology on any of it...I might feel alittle bummed. But, I'm not into any of that. As long as my stash items help me to continue vaping for as long as I want to...I'm a happy camper and all good with it.

I always buy multiples. I bought 2 g2's a month or so ago and liked them enough to buy 2 more shortly after. Almost bought 2 more again but fought the urge.

I was just looking to buy a couple smoant battlestar from misthub with code REDDIT15 for 15% off but have so far resisted the urge. Need to finish paying off some debt before I do more stocking of vape gear.

I'm really in love with my provari's own 5, but the price of the pico was dirt cheap, so with that in mind I don't care if it gets lost or stolen and if they get cheaper I'll buy more just for the fact it will allow my provaris to last longer, since I don't own a dozen or twenty and I only have 5 to last a life time!

With the Pico's and stuff from China, it costs so little that it doesn't really matter, and I don't ever use most of it, just store it. ProVari's i paid full price for most of the P3s, and ProVape-1, and 2s and 2.5s and Radius and Procyon (never really used the latter 2, just wanted a complete collection), but I've gotten my use out of 'em, and they run forever. Mechs and mechs are mechs, and don't change much. Is this heavy metal battery holder worth $200-$300 ...? IDK, hard to say, but I like 'em -- and the ones I liked like GG gear have all become collectors items worth a lot more then I paid for it in the first place -- which is more than I can say about some current trends. Yes, your new stabwood mod looks AMAZING! But I'm being polite and open-minded, really they all look a lot like my hairstylist's fingernails to me ;-) I want to carry this around with me why? So I haven't spent too much on 6 months long waiting list, facebook private group only, $900 for a crappy DNA chip with no warranty -- best of luck once ya buy the thing, what's customer service? we're too dysfunctional to even have a website -- mods... The most expensive TC/VW things in my collection are all Dicodes, which all do pretty much everything I want out of a mod, and while they cost a lot, they also upgrade everything when they release new tech, so when they release new revisions, they'll swap circuit boards for a total cost of roughly 20-25% of the original price. And, I'm using those. I'd be perfectly happy using 'em indefinitely, but strongly suspect I'll always be able to smuggle new mods into the US. Nic will be the main chokehold. I don't really care about 200watts, 300watts, 350watts, 1.2gigwatts... I switched to mostly TC a year+ ago, Dicodes is pretty much the best chipset on the planet at the present time (in my subjective opinion), I'm happy with my choices.

What would I do different in retrospect? IDK... I sure have a lot of ProVari minis & Kayfun lite+ clones that I will personally never use, but they're like the Bic lighters (or Zippos in the case of ProVari) of the vaping world, and cost roughly have the price of nothing, so... why not?

EDIT: FWIW ProVari facebook groups have WokeN uP lately, and there's a LOT of people selling and wanting to buy. Seems to very much be a sellers market with buyers paying retail or more for multiple ProVape devices. "Wait, wut? ProVape closed!?!?!? Why did nobody notify me! I thought I had until 2018!!!" So if anybody regrets buying eleventy-three ProVari's, here's your chance to unload 'em at a profit. Though, I don't know anybody personally with a ProVari horde who wants to get rid of anything; the ProVarinati seem pretty content :)

Lately all my mods cost less than 2 packs of smokes. I am not going to lose any sleep over it. My vaping style hasn't changed since I quit smoking and I see no reason to change it now.

Good post!

I agree with you on high end regulated mods as well. A $900 solid gold or silver or diamond encrusted mech/squonker isn't my think but I get that. Buying something "pretty" with electronics that will be basically obsolete in a year or two makes as much sense to me as buying a solid gold Apple Watch or cell phone. YES, they generally look amazing so to each their own.

I am also happy I stocked up on a dozen Provaris (Radius, 2 each of P3 and Classics and the rest 2.5/Minis). I won't sell them as my wife loves them and uses them exclusively and I also use them from time to time. Selling a 2.5 for over list to buy a Chinese mod for the same price doesn't make to me even if it has an extra 185w of power!

How long do you think a Pico might last? I have one I've used exclusively for 2 months. I was thinking about 2 years. Is that an unreasonable expectation?
I personally think Eleaf makes solid products. I am using a 40w and a 60w for over a year now and both are still doing great. Have a 20w I used for a while, but put it away in my stash for now. I like the Picos and have two now myself.

Ok I know these are throw aways, but I got 2 toptank evod kits today and they are really cute! The tanks are smaller than the pt3 minis, and yes I love my pt minis, just thought I would share!
I think I still got maybe 5 Protank mini 3's. Those were my favorite when I moved to my first tank.
