One of my goals in retirement is to visit places with eagle nests. One of the most beautiful nests I watch is at big bear lake in California. The view is gorgeous. Another that I love is the trio nest in Illinois. Two dads and one mom. Very unique family. They don’t have babies yet. The one with a current baby is the south west Florida eagle cam. There were more in California last breeding season but I can’t remember the locations but they were nestled in the mountains next to the ocean. Duke farms in New Jersey I believe is another I watched. I have googled before all the nests with cams but I don’t have enough time to keep up with them all or I’d never get any chores done. I fell hard for eagles about this time last year and my dad loves to ask me about them. I showed him the swfl baby today. So cute! Alaska would be a GREAT trip!
If you love watching/photographing bald eagles you should think about heading to the La Crosse, WI area. Along the Mississippi river there are something like 300 pairs nesting year round. The wife and I used to head out that way to watch them.

Around La Crosse, Ferryville (just south), Prairie du Chien (a little further south) and Alma (to the north) are all excellent places for viewing. You just drive along hwy 35 which runs right along the river. There are many places to pull over and view. See the map on the page linked below. It's totally awesome.

Info + map: Eagle Viewing on Wisconsin’s Great River Road

When I was last in and around the Monterey, CA area I spent hours watching the golden eagles soar around the canyons. I totally lost track of time. I find them to be one of the most majestic eagles.

"Best" case bad scenario is that B&M vape shops will be around but online vape sites will go away.

Good reason to stock up.

Stocking up on the right stuff makes sure I can stay away from B&M vape shops.

I read about people on this and other forums stocking up on the wrong things and I feel bad for them. Nothing I can do. They'll be paying out the nose for junk within a year.
How can the dedicated vape shops survive if they can't sell flavored? What will survive is the tobacco shops. We have a bunch of those. One of them had to move to larger space to make more room for vape stuff. Those shops will stay in business because they sell tobacco. Then I wonder, how effective will Customs be at intercepting consumer packages with vape stuff. Will they try?

I do not know how old you are. I'm 60. I decided five years ago that I would rather risk having too much than to wake up same day, a decade or two in the future, wishing I'd bought more when it was cheap and readily available.
I'm a shiny new 66 here. So, I should be crowding 80 before my hardware 'runs out'. I have used about a third of the liquid I bought a year ago, so I may need to stack some more. So, I'm comfortably cushioned and can add as I see fit. It's nice to not have supply be a daily concern.

In my area they are just normal vape shops... No tobacco, they are usually very anti-tobacco. A couple have cbd... No headshop stuff (they have a small selection of that stuff in a smoke shop or two).

I find it strange that a place would sell both e-cigarettes and tobacco.... I think of it as oil and water, it does not mix. But apparently it is more common than I thought.

Every independent cigarette/lottery shops in my area (and we have many) all have a vape section, some have a separate room. It's all rebranded Aspire and Kanger stuff and it's WAAAAAAAAY too expensive.

Even if they were reasonably priced, I could never buy from them. They let customers smoke in the store and I JUST.CANT.STAND cigarette smoke anymore.

The white house has said that the US Fed Govt may have no jurisdiction over "vape shops" because they are 18/21+ establishments, kinda like a bar. But this does not mean they will not be heavily regulated. So they may be able to stay open and sell any flavors.

The problem is the nicotine. Nicotine = tobacco to the govt.

But online vape shops? I doubt they will survive, even with age checking apps.

Who knows?

Right...

STOCK UP!

I wonder how many mods do I need for the next 40 years? I don't plan on dying soon.

I know my picos will be around before I'm dead. Tough little mods. That's the bulk of the mods I stocked up on, various Pico models. Almost all have silicone sleeves available, which I already bought on FT. A few will have to go naked.

I have not counted my mods lately LOL But I think a mod lasting 2-3 yrs is not unreasonable depending on the mod. I do have a variety that take a variety of batt sizes. I'd say a few mech's with safety chips is also good. So for 40 yrs minimum would be 20, maximum sky is the limit :)

I honestly can't see vape shops surviving after May 20, no vape product has been approved and the only PMTA's I have heard of is a couple for most likely pods, Vuse I think applied and Juul I think is. So only a couple I have heard of.

I just read the PMTA submitted by Vuse is for the Vuse Solo, a cig a like with flavored cartos. So it looks like this will be the only legal vape product to purchase after May 11, 2020 since they submitted a PMTA, welcome to Back to the Future! https://vusevapor.com/devices/solo

Out of my stash I have two picos. They still work but the display is messed up. I might have 10 mods total. I gave away some along my journey. I'm using two eleaf rims right now to save on my battery types. I know I saved a old couper dna 30.

I'm not giving away any more (only family). I gave a few to co workers only to see them smoking. No more Mrs. Nice guy. I feel selfish but I can't afford to go without. I plan on stocking up on a few more rebuildable tanks and maybe another liter or two of nic.

I guess I will continue to buy until I can't anymore.

One huge advantage to having a reserve is that you have the luxury of waiting for bargains. I've picked up a few really good ones when I noticed something was becoming scarce. In my experiences, when a model is being shown the door, retailers often put them in clearance, and a $300 mod can become a $50 mod before it vanishes entirely from the shelves. Prime example for me was the end of ProVaris.
On the other end of the spectrum, inexpensive but robust mods like the Digiflavor Helix. At $20 each, after giving it a road test I decided to stock up.

That deal at eightvape for the Vaporesso Revenger X for $14 and you get the NRG tank is a good deal, the NRG tank takes the Ijoy exo s RBA, so rebuildable :) I picked up two!

I would say that about 2/3 of my regulated mods were bought for under $25. And around 8 or 9 were bought for under $10. Many were on clearance, some on great coupon sales. If you're patient, you can stock up pretty cheaply. Or at least you could. At this point it may not be a luxury anymore. I started in 2015/16, so I've had a lot more time.

I just bought a couple of dual battery 21700 mods on a flash sale for $7.90 apiece. These are the kinds of deals I look for all the time.

You have a link to these safety chips? If you mean a kick module, I had a hard time finding those.

Some, like the Luna, have the safety built in. Won't fire if there is a short. In between a straight mech and a regulated. Some mechs also have a spring that will collapse and break contact if the mod overheats.

@UncleJunkle There's something called a short stop. I had a link for it on my phone but I had to reinstall my OS on my phone so its gone. I can't find it on the web. Maybe you'll have better luck.

found it ShortStop by Holocron Labs

So cool. Wisconsin is now on the list of places to visit! How fun though to think about retiring and having the time to do things like this. Of course eagle watching is part of it, but it’s also traveling and seeing the world instead of being cooped up at work all the time. I can’t wait.

Yeah, love the Picos. I've got 2 Pico minis that I use daily and 4 spares for the apocalypse. 18650 batteries won't be a problem. I've 237 cartomizers and a dozen DCT 2 tanks, 39 120lm bottles of nic juice in the freezer and plan on buying more. If all sales come to a halt, I'll be good for 5 years. Then, after 15 years of vaping and at the age of 76, heck I guess I'll just start smoking again. Or quit cold turkey.
