That’s not a bad price. I don’t know what it’s intended use is but would probably work if it’ll hold that voltage under load. I have a 0-60vdc power supply on my bench at work that was way more expensive and isn’t rated very high amperage.

Maybe some knowledgeable person could chime in. If it's rated at 4V and 60 A, I would think so, although it sounds like maybe you work in electronics?

Personally, I have 2 different pod systems...Rinco Ceto and Justfog Minifit. I don't use either brand for full-time vaping, but pick 1 up 3-4 times a day to take a few hits from it.

Got the Ceto Pod system first, on the recommendation of another ECF member. I liked it a lot and bought 4. Then found the pods (normally $3.29-$3.99 each) on sale for $12.00/10-pack, so I bought 7 packs...some for each of us. I still really like the Ceto itself, but the pod's little refill plug is sometimes a PITA, to me. Lifts up easily, but is a bugger to get back in at times.

Then I bought 2 Minifits, based on recommendations on ECF and because I'd found a Clearance Sale for $6.99 a kit. Started using 1 in April and was still using the same pod in August! The sucker just wouldn't die and still hasn't! When I then found out that the pods were actually rebuildable...that did it for me! Loaded up on the starter kits during Ejuices.com sales and elsewhere (you have to have multiples of each color, you know) and the pod 3-packs when I've found them for around $4-5/pack.

So, if some of you haven't tried a pod set-up yet, but think you may want to, while you still can...be prepared to possibly be pretty impressed with the little things. I know I was and still am, especially by the vapor amount they produce, the really good flavor, and their tiny size. They're also amazing, IMO, for stealth vaping. :)

The Kanger squonkers really were the beginning of squonkers going mainstream as I remember it. Yes the atty and bottles on em were hideous but they were affordable and more important in most vape shops.

I have a couple of squonkers from 2016ish that I am praying I never have to use. I can't stand the dang things. They are cheap knockoffs and really a nightmare to get to fire consistently (Fankenskull Clones).

I am finding as I sort through things I have one box that is basically the use as a last resort box and another that I might well before the deeming date just PIF. Planning to put a list on here of the potential PIF stuff when I finish going through everything. I have enough stuff I like now that I doubt I will ever need the stuff.

ETA I have no idea what happened to my quote function here lol

The Kanger squonkers came out after I’d already bought my REOs, and I think I clocked them as not being quality and therefore never bought. Kanger had started to come out with a lot of stuff, but my store stuck by the Subtank kits. I’d even bought a Nebox - I still have it, and know how to fix the leaking issue - but I stayed clear of their squonk boxes.

I should also really separate the mods I have that are workable, but not vapeocalypse-level-dependency quality, from my stockpile. I don’t want to have an unrealistic sense of security. However, I did go through my stuff (again) the other night, and with what I have on the way, I have more than I give myself credit for.

I already had REOs as well but I only had standards so the attraction of the Kanger squonkers for me was an affordable squonker that could take a larger atty. No way I could afford a LP REO at the time. I did eventually convert a couple of attys to BF to use on the Kanger squonker. Then not long after Fasttech started including BF pins with many clone attys. SO my Kanger squonker actually got some pretty heavy use. It is still in my rotation although the bottle is miserable.

I have 3 NEBoxes and have tried every fix I have seen on the web but they still are horrid leaky messes. LOL It is unfortunate because I really like the silly things for driving.

REOs and Provaris were and still are my long term vaping solution. Both are near indestructible.

I have no idea either, but it looks a just like the 3D printer power supplies I've seen.

@Astron - If you'll go back and Edit your post...to remove any/all space between the top ] and The Kanger squonkers came out.....and also close the space at the end of the quote between...stuff. [/QUOTE]...it should make everything in your post appear correctly in the quote. Then Myrany can edit hers, too.

I really don’t mean to sound snobbish about the Kanger squonkers! I guess it is subjective and if they worked for a lot of people or introduced them to the method, I’m glad they were made. But I was throwing half my paycheck back to vaping stuff and since I’d bought so much from REOs, I guess I just decided to bypass.

Funny I’m worried about this, as one of my major mantras at the shop was to instruct the clerks to NEVER judge another vaper’s gear, and here I am doing it now. Apologies. I think what threw me off of them were the coils and the atty, as you have mentioned a few times.

My only pods are the minifit. I bought Mom one to see if she could quit smoking but it didn’t work and she gave them back. Now I have two minifits and some pods. I also made her some 18 mg juice. I vape 2 mg. But I found I can take a draw off the minifit with the 18 mg every now and then and not get nauseous. It’s actually quite satisfying. I’ll take a couple vapes right before I leave for work and I don’t vape as much during my drive in. I have not rebuilt one yet and I’ve been using the same pod now for a while. I love the little things! And they satisfy a MTL vape that I never knew I’d like since I’m a DTL vaper.

Not as much electronics as industrial electrical but do a little with electronics.

If you're serious about making a desktop PV, you may want to take a gander at some "cannabis" forums. They've been using desktop PVs for a long time now. I'm sure there are people there who are modders and have made many desktop PVs. They ar pricey if you buy them factory-made.

Important will be the wire size needed, from the power supply to the vaporizer, which is based on the amps. 15A or higher current takes 14 AWG or larger wires (the higher the current the larger the wire).

Old school USB passthroughs got by with small wires because of the limited current available from a USB port back then. We were vaping at maximum 10W (5V, 2A).

(Ahh, the good old days. Anyone else remember people who fried computers when it turned out they had USB ports that could only drive 500 mA and lacked adequate circuit protection? [emoji3])

Absolutely nothing to apologize for. I certainly didn't take it that way.

They were not well designed devices. The bottle is miserable hard to squonk and the atty that came with it was HORRIBLE. But they made very good little beater devices when another atty was put on them. I still use mine as such with a SXK Hadlay on it. ;)

NEBOX was in its way ahead of its time. A stab at a rebuildable AIO with a small form factor and large tank. It really was unfortunate it leaks so badly

In both cases I really think Kanger had the right idea but rushed to market before they were really ready for the public. I suspect because they were trying to get on the market before the 2016 cutoff date.

There was a whole lot of not ready for primetime gear from many manufacturers hitting the market right about then.

I’m not necessarily against all pod devices. I have a few I really like but look at the cost of the pods or if an rba is available before buying. I really like the vaporesso podstick. I bought a bunch cheap and got the pods for under $5 for a two pack. The first pod lasted two months with occasional use. However, some of the pod prices on some are a little ridiculous. I liked how the Orion vaped but quickly learned that I didn’t want to pay 4-5 per pod when they weren’t lasting me very long.

Yeah that's why I prefer the pod mods that have replaceable coils, not replaceable pods. It's also less plastic thrown away and that keeps the (small) hippie in me happy.

That's why I like my Breeze 2 mods, replaceable coils. Also why if I consider getting a different pod it will be the Geekvape Aegis Boost... and a few RBAs for it.

Also I got my (2) 2.4A rated 6.5' long mini USB charging cables in. Plugged one into my 2.1A wall wart and charged up my Vaporesso Tarot Baby today. It was BARELY warm while charging up and started getting a little warm once it hit 100% but it was nowhere near the level of heat I was experiencing at work on Friday. Great solution, thanks to whoever for the help.

@bnrkwest - It's hard to believe it'll be 3 years ago already...that ProVape closed up shop...as of about the middle of February. I'm glad I at least started buying them in July of 2016, and was able to get in on their Closing Up Sales later, too. Those were some amazing prices then!

ETA: I lost a year in there, and had to change it to 3 years.

I think for most it wasn't about "in case they want to squonk". It's because they could be had for dirt cheap (many times under $10) and they can be used as regular mods.

For me personally have no intention of squonking, or dripping for that matter.
You my friend are happy with circa 2012 vape supplies, which is awesome. I'm stuck in 2015/2016 with 30 subtank/top tank minis, and another 20 RBAs. I'm a creature of convenience, so dripping is not appealing. But with squonking, I've stuck my fingers in my ears and screamed lalalala. Ignorance really can be bliss despite what they say.
