That’s them! I only remember it was an online page for a b&m. I am brain dead today. For the life of me, can’t remember where we all got them from.

Just did a quick search on ebay for "flat-top battery adapter" and found nothing.
And I though ebay had everything :D

I bought nipple top batteries from RTD fairly recently, that they recommended for the Provaris. You can also put a drop of solder on top of a flat. There’s lots of advice on how on the flashlight forums. I’m not giving up on my provaris that easy!

@classwife ... was it you that found the plastic adapters that you add to a flattop battery to make them provari friendly? I can’t remember where we all bought them from.
Here ya go, a place listing them as in stock:
Flat Top Battery Adapter

I've never used that shop, but showing qty 72 sounds like they may really have them.

(Turns out it's the shop @salemgold mentioned [emoji106])

Indyvapes used to sell those plastic adapters. Many moons ago

I got mine from Indy Vape, just up the road for me. Not too impressed with the adapter actually, never used one. It would take a wrap to hold it in place and because of the design I couldn't see it being very stable. Plus the metal piece in the middle was quite long so it would have increased the length of the battery quite a lot.

Well...you guys got me. I caved...you broke me down. As a result of following this thread for the last few months, I Bought a couple new mechs today, which I haven’t used regularly since 2011ish. Also picked up 2 RDA’s, which I haven’t used regularly in years as well. Been DIY’ing day in and day out for the past 7 or 8 years, so I guess I need to buy nic base tomorrow. God I hope this is all for nothing. I will continue to ghost this thread and probably be convinced to stockpile even further. I can’t believe I’ve sunk to this level of pessimism about the future of something I’ve enjoyed so much for longer than a decade. It’s just so sad...and so silly.

I feel the same way. I'm only spending what I can afford. If this is for naught, then I've only bought what I would've purchased anyway. I just won't have to make those purchases in the future.

    CASAA Update E-Mail:
"Today, the House of Representatives voted to move forward (210 yea - 200 nay) with considering HR 2339 and allowing for 90 minutes of debate prior to a vote. There is now bi-partisan opposition to this bill.

CASAA has learned that the language from HR 4742 (tax parity across all tobacco products--linked below) is now included in HR 2339. This new language would tax vapor products at a much higher rate than the federal tax on cigarettes.

The 90 minutes of debate and a vote on HR 2339 is expected to begin around 9:00 AM, Friday, February 28."

Apparently the bill has language banning menthol cigarettes that is pulling away some support.

The reference to HR 4742 is, I believe, relative to that really high tax we've chatted about.

    Back to stocking...

    @NolaMel @englishmick @classwife @Any-other-provari-owner

I had a thought, but only you provari users would know if this could work...

Maybe you could get a 21700 to 18650 adapter like this...

$1.78 AOLVAPE 18650 Battery Adapter Tube for 20700/21700 Battery Mod at FastTech - Free Shipping

    9707072-2.jpg

Cut off the tube part so all you have left is the disk part. Like this...
    oysi5Ld.jpg

Then shave or sand or whittle the disk down to around 18mm (it doesn't have to be exact or perfect, it just has to fit inside the mod but small enough so it doesn't just get stuck inside the mod).

    Would this work?

If you have a few 21700 mods that you're just stashing and not using, you could even try this out now before you buy any. Most 21700 mods seem to come with these right now since 18650 is still king in the vape world right now.

The metal cap on that one looks rather wide. Probably too wide for the gap the button goes into in a Provari. I took a look at the one in my Armor Prime, it has a smaller button sized cap that might be just the job.

Yeah, I just looked at my Armour's adapter and it doesn't protrude that much. The one on my Pico 21700 doesn't even protrude at all. So I guess not all adapters would work, if this would even work at all.

Alternately, here's something from budgetlightforums (What is your favorite method of converting flat top batteries to button top? | BudgetLightForum.com)

    "I re-wrap with button-top caps from FT:

$1.02 Stainless Steel Pointed Top Cover Cap for 18650 Lithium Battery (50-Pack) 50-pack at FastTech - Free Shipping – positive pole
$1.14 Stainless Steel Flat Top Cover Cap for 18650 Lithium Battery (50-Pack) 50-pack at FastTech - Free Shipping – negative
$0.97 Paper Insulation Gasket for Pointed 18650 Battery (100-Pack) 100-pack - 17mm diameter at FastTech - Free Shipping – insulation gasket for positive
$2.86 Flat 29.5mm 18.5mm 18650 Battery Sleeve PVC Heat Shrinkable Tubing (10m) at FastTech - Free Shipping – shrink wrap

    "

Take a look at the positive pole link - it looks like you drop that onto the existing positive, add insulation gasket for positive to bond it, then a new battery wrap holding everything in place.

You'll have a 6mm diameter nipple, with the outer 3.5mm (a 1.75mm ring) of the item (9.5mm outer diameter) being the contact with the existing flat-top positive contact.

I did a quick check with calipers - it looks like a flat top positive is right about 9.5mm diameter.

Thank you for searching for us! That’s cheap enough to take a gamble on.

The adapter that came with my EHPro cold steel has a tiny contact that's only about 2-3mm wide and protrudes about 2mm. That might work, but you'd have to buy a $40 mod to get it lol. But that tells me they are out there. Sorry for the blurry pics.
