And then, there's this :)

THE BACTERICIDAL ACTION OF PROPYLENE GLYCOL VAPOR ON MICROORGANISMS SUSPENDED IN AIR. I

"Concentrations of 1 gm. of propylene glycol vapor in two to four million cc. of air produced immediate and complete sterilization of air into which pneumococci, streptococci, staphylococci, H. influenzae, and other microorganisms as well as influenza virus had been sprayed."

Perhaps it also kills some of the varieties of corona virus. I know many here - myself included - have observed a marked reduction of the "common" cold, also a corona virus...

I have noticed that I hardly ever get sick. My wife got the flu a couple weeks ago and I was able to avoid it. We’re not sure but think my daughter brought it home from college.

And what about all the “chicken littles” that were running around screaming “oh my God vaping is unsafe”? Stirring things up more? Yeah their mouths are shut right now.

I still say that there is a lot we aren’t being told. Too many events and such getting canceled. They don’t do that for flu season so.... Not to say they aren’t excellent precautions though.

I’ll be very happy to be wrong
I think the vapers have more protection because we vape,, our lungs coated with pg & vg.

When the govt says something,, consider what the opposite would result in

Iirc,,, pg & vg have a simple mechanical smothering effect on viruses

I don’t catch anything either, but I’ve been this way since long before I started vaping. Over 20 years. I think it’s just that I had the opportunity to build up my immunity for years, from the kids dragging home every stray germ.

It would make sense though, that vaping rather than smoking would make it easier to fight off contagions.

When I was smoking, I got bronchitis a lot, and the last years, I was getting pneumonia every year, each year worse than the one before.

Since I quit smoking and started vaping (over 10 yrs ago), I have had 2 colds. I live with my sister, and she was always bringing colds/flu home from work. The 2 colds I had, never moved to my lungs. Just head colds. That blows my mind.

I vape strictly VG. I see articles mostly about PG, and those mostly regarding bacteria. Does anyone know of similar studies/articles about VG and about how VG/PG fare against viruses?

Yes VG is also anti microbial, it is used to preserve certain things. Not sure about viruses, I'll have to search. One thing I did find about surviving Covid-19 is to keep it in your head and don't get it your lungs, so maybe sleeping with head lower than shoulders would help?? Lots of times sinus drainage at night into lungs is a problem, if your head is lower than lungs that could be a benefit perhaps??

Perhaps. But I don't care if it smothers, poisons, shoots or electrocutes the bugs, as long as they're dead! (Well, as long as the electrocution wasn't from a battery failure ;) )

Of course, our in general improved health might simply be due to the lack of tars and other crap from combustion no longer being a factor, but, well, we can hope :nun:

I have to sleep on an incline due to silent reflux. However, I had some serious sinus issues the last couple of years I managed to get under control using a nose spray called Xlear. It has Xylitol in it (actually, my toothpaste does, too). Xylitol starves bacteria and prevents them from taking hold. I just came across an article that suggests it could work in a similar manner with viruses. I may up my use of it for the next while. The article says you should use it as often as you wash your hands. I'm going to do some more reading up on it.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I think I might save my Fasttech rebate points and make a purchase sometime after FDA day and see what happens, just as a "experiment. That way, if the the FDA gets customs involved like I believe they did sometime around 2010-2011, I don't lose anything, just rebate points.

    Still not decided yet.
