You'll be able to inspect the oring at reading glasses magnification and see if they are degrading. They won't be smooth. They'll be pitted if they've been breaking down due to a reaction for long enough.

You're right. It's the same type of reaction as with hazing, cracking plastic tanks.

The multi-pack o-rings that some get, often online for cheap, or at automotive stores, big box stores, etc., are made for different applications, and just because the size is right, doesn't mean the material is right.

There are several cinnamon flavorings used in ejuices. Some will have an effect similar to dry rot on o-rings that were designed for a water faucet or in an automotive application.

As mentioned above, it was more than just cinnamon that was giving those tanks a flogging...

I'm no materials expert though. I just stick with Buna N from a credible parts outlet.

I have no idea what the fast tech o-rings are made out of beyond "Silicone." A quick google search shows that authentic and non-authentic both just say "silicone" or nothing at all. I'm going to try and use just the spare o-rings that came with tanks first and the Fast Tech ones as a least resort but I'm glad we talked about this, I'll be on the lookout.

One would imagine that they're selling O-rings for vape specific uses, but it is an all-around utility store. If you find good links, post 'em up. Or is there a thread maybe for O-ring specific inquiries?

Silicone is great for tanks. When you get in to orings that sit near heat sources, that's where you have to be careful. Tank seals won't encounter much heat, unless the designer is Wile E. Coyote.

I need to order o rings soon. I am waiting for a ruler to come from Amazon so I can measure what I have before I order. I posted a topic on this a couple weeks ago. I dont really have a clue what I am doing but I will wing it once I pull the orings off the tank. Lol

I bought a box of assorted silicone O rings from FT a few years ago. Hope they work :)
Same, I just bought 5x bags of each of the most common, clear O-rings on FT, lol. I was completely unaware of there being much of a difference. It has me thinking now.

I'll use the silicone o-rings if the OEM seals are really tight on an rda, they are softer. Some of the rda caps are so tight I was afraid of stripping the 510 threads pulling the cap off. The pulseII rda was the worse one, I had to use a 501 heatsink to try and wrench it off. :)

I can't get the glass that was shipped with the Steam Crave Aromamizer off. If I squeezed that glass any harder, it was definitely going to shatter in my hand. I just ended up leaving it. I hate how tight some of them are.

@AngeNZ I just read your post on FT from last year regarding the Dvarw, lol. I got mine today and it's all set up. Do you get an annoying whistle from it when you draw? It's not enough to deter me from using it, but man - I feel like all the dogs in the neighborhood probably hate me.

GeekVape Legend w/ Aero Mesh Tank for $23.75 @Healthcabin

Geekvape Aegis Legend With Aero Mesh

Ugh that's tempting but I just bought 6 dual battery mods in the last week I wasn't sure I needed.

Silver lining is that it comes out to about $40 after "first10" coupon with shipping and I got all mine for $30. I tried to see what shipping would be for multiple but they're limited to one per purchase. Might still get one though. One can't hurt...

3 Gen S Ultra (Looked more desk stable)
They might be because it appears that they're a little bit thicker in the middle with that triangular look. I got mine today (regular Gen S's) and I'm vaping on it right now. I think the biggest downside (if you wanna call it that, lol) is that they're extremely light, so there isn't a lot weighing it down to make it feel secure. The Ultra is made of out Aircraft Aluminum I believe, which is going to make them even lighter. I hope they are a bit wider for that sake.

I hadn’t heard of the ultra. I looked it up and it looks like the Gen X I have. I reviewed it a while ago.
I believe they're the same thing. When I looked up reviews on the "Ultra", all that came up was Gen X in the results. Kind of like the Freemax Fireluke 3/Maxluke - I'm assuming the Ultras were part of a kit at one time labeled under Gen X.
