Are you for or against being able to vape indoors in public places?

We are constantly saying that there is a huge difference between smoking and vaping and that they should not be associated, yet it seems that is all we do when we debate an issue like this. vaping is not smoking thus nonsmoking regulations should have no place in this discussion. There are no rules on the door to a public establishment ( I suppose some may have them) not to spit, swear, wear unfitting cloths, pick your nose, or any number of things some may find offensive yet most people do not do these things anyway. Well except in Walmart. Not everything needs to be a rule. If at some later date vaping is really popular, a majority, then it still should be up to owner if they feel they are losing business over a few vapers, not a blanket regulation. If we keep making statements like "I didn't do it when I smoked, so why should I with vape" how is anybody else supposed to see that smoking does not equal vaping or vice verse. I really wish we could stop demonizing the very thing we are trying to protect, stand strong, and be proud vapers! NO to blanket indoor/outdoor or any bans!!!!!! Stand strong people, fight, and don't let the bullies win!

Vaping or smoking it doesn't matter...you know its different and I know its not the same....but the general public does not. Until there is a more distinguishable line between the two then there should be some common etiquette exercised as with smoking. Those who don't know what vaping is will think you are smoking I don't care how blue in the face you get trying to explain it to them. You and I also know the health benefits versus smoking as well as health concerns to your surroundings...but alas my point...they don't. Until such time that there is a clear difference established in the public's eyes we should mind our p's and q's because anything offensive is just that offensive and doesn't further our cause. Hold vaping to a higher standard folks.

If we act like it is smoking and follow the same road then they will never see the difference. If we treat it like we know that it is then they will accept it with time. Be a proud vaper!!!

I have seen post after post by vapers who can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke; perhaps just as many non vapers and even vapers can't stand the smell of others' e-liquids...

Perhaps, but I can't stand the smell of most people but while I may make an icky face behind their back I go about my business as I believe most non nosy bodies will do.

For me, the answer is simple: no vaping in areas were smoking is prohibited. Period
I'm really sorry you feel that way.

Vaping is nothing like smoking, so I really don't understand why VAPERS would want to treat them the same way.

A lot of vapers did not smoke in their homes... but they DO vape in their homes. Why? Because IT'S NOT SMOKING. There's no carcinogens, and it doesn't stink.

i wish people would stop speaking for the 'general public'
i am all for the 'general public' speaking for themselves.
the 'general public' will never know how benign vaping is
if we keep skulking around like evil doers.
lets vape everywhere and let the 'general public' make
up their own minds.

Precisely. IT'S NOT THE SAME AS SMOKING!!!!! What's it going to take to convince NON-vapers of this, when we can't even get VAPERS to believe it!!!!!!!!

Some people are so willing to be bullied, despised, and discriminated against, it makes me sick.

you are so right on about this Andria I try very hard to remember that the distinct probability is that the vapers who do so have been so heavily inundated with the evils practically from birth that they genuinely don't get it- sad

I do agree with everyone saying it's not smoking.

But if it's not smoking allowed i respect that. Only exception would be the bars where i always ask the manager before if i'm allowed to vape.
But in malls and what not, i feel disrespectful for some reason. I mean even if second hand vapor is basicly non existent (as far as we know it atm) Others doesn't know what it is and it just feel wrong to let other people inhale my secondhand vape.

At the bars i feel more comfortable, perhaps due smoking used to be allowed there earlier. It's a diffrent "setting" or how i should call it.

On the other hand i also agree with that if we follow the smokers path, we will also be considered/treated as smokers. So it's a hard line to draw IMO.

Edit: My opinion is also slightly biased or how i should call it. Due there's only like 5-6 vapers i've ever seen in my town. And in sweden as a whole our community is about 2k members.. so it's quite small thing here still.

Hi, its just because vaping can be annoying to others. Nobody needs to smell our e-liquids if they don't want to... Plus, vaping in places were smoking is prohibited will be bad for our cause... Don't you agree?

No, I do not agree! How are they ever going to know what vaping is, and how benign it is, if no one ever does it around them???? If all they ever hear about are "cloud chasers," how are they going to know what a minority cloud chasers really are?????

I'm EXTREMELY annoyed by perfume and diesel fumes... but that doesn't mean the whole damn world has to stop wearing perfume and stop driving diesel vehicles!

And far as I'm concerned, the smell of ANY vapor could only IMPROVE the reek in every hospital in the world -- does anyone really want to smell disinfectant, sickness, and overcooked broccoli all mixed together!?!?!?! I THINK NOT!!!!!!!!
