no they should not expire.
Hey Imagine!

Do the points we get for purchases still expire after a certain point? Or do they last forever. There used to be a place in the points balance page that said "expires such and such", but I'm not seeing that anymore, so was just wondering...

:)

Yes, I do clean both connections each time I charge my batteries. I watched the video on the SI website and I have been cleaning the connections faithfully as described in the video.

I took the battery off of the charger after 5 hours just to be on the safe side. The LED light was still on. I have not tried to use the battery yet tonight but it has been performing flawlessly. It works like a charm and still lasts as long between charges as it did when it was new. It's only the charging that seems to be acting strange.

I have 2 - 78's that do the same thing....charge for longer than normal, unplug them, get 3 blinks, plug em back in and the led won't light. It's like they fully charged but the led never goes out when it's supposed to, so I just leave em charging for 3 hours and thats it.

it could be an issue from liquid getting inside....or it could be the connection needs to be cleaned.

I never overfill and I keep all the connections clean, I had already thought of that. For me the LED is just a convenience to see that the battery holds a charge. For me it's not an issue that I am worried about. If it dies outsde of warranty then it dies and the world keeps spinnin round! LOL!

One of my Volt standard 78mm batteries is taking longer and longer to charge each time I charge it. The last time it took about 3 1/2 hours to charge. Today it has been on the charger for 4 1/2 hours and the LED light is still on. I'm using the USB/Wall charger configuration.

Does this mean that my battery is about shot?

And you've tried the alcohol-dampened QTIP tip, right? That one has ALWAYS worked for me whenever I have trouble charging batts. You just swab the posts on the battery and the charger. Done, no more problems. Sometimes you need more than a dry wipe.

Just a quick update here. I did try the alcohol dampened QTIP but it didn't change anything. I agree with charlzrocks comments that it is not really a problem. It was just freaking me out at first because I thought my battery was about to die. Not the case though. It still performs flawlessly. Now that I understand what is happening here, I don't have a problem with the light not going off when charging is complete as long as the battery still works great, which it does. I believe the battery is charging just fine. The only problem is that the light won't turn off when it's done. I can live with that.
