Question on chargers and the X2 battery...just ordered my first with the $50 contest win. I have the standard charger that came with my starter kit. But I've been searching the forum and I'm still confused. Should I get the 1.5 charger? Is the .5 OK but just takes longer? If I get the 1.5, can I use that on the regular volt bats? What about charging just on the USB on a computer? Of course there is the car charger (got one of those too). In other words, what charger is compatible with what battery?

yeah, it's confusing,,,,,,

there's mathmatics behind the whole thing I'm not good at,,,,,,,but you need the 1.5 charger to be sure,,,,,

and I don't recommend charging on your computer,,,,,,you might fry the usb hub, and computers are a ton more expensive than a battery,,,,,

not sure on the rest, but someone will be around to answer those questions

You can use the 1.5 charger for all batteries (x2 and 65 or 78mm). The .5 will charge the x2 but it will take longer and you will not be able to use as a passthrough. You can use the computer but I personally wouldn't since this is always a chance of screwing up your USB port.

If you have an iPhone, iPad or any other phone that uses a USB charger, you can use those chargers as well

You're OK with the .5 one that you already have, but the 1.5 one you for sure wouldn't outgrow, and is just a little more versatile. For instance, if you ever wanted to get the regular Volt passthrough without the internal battery (won't even fire with less than 1.5 amps - that's why they came out with the 1.5), you'd be all set. Or if you ever wanted to plug in a splitter (to charge two batts), you'd be all set. And you for sure wouldn't have any worries when using the X2 as a passthrough while charging (you can still use it as a passthrough with the .5 one, but you'd have very little leeway and charging may take longer). Either one will work with the regular Volt batts (with amps, you can have more than you need, but not less - the batts are regulated internally to only draw what they need). With the X2 and the regular batts, it's OK to use your computer's USB, but keep in mind that you're dealing with electronics and you never know when something's gonna short out and zap your motherboard. But that can be true for anything you plug in there, so...

my 2 manual X2's are still going strong after several months. i take them to work with me to back up my auto 78. one would probably do but the other is there in case i work late. also, i like having three flavors to vape while away so i put a carto on each one.

I used another brand and my X2 that I just got doesn't work,,,,,I'm lucky that SI CS is just so fantastic, they decided the charger probably wasn't the problem and chose to replace it,,,,,,I'm only using the SI charger from now on,,,it's just not worth the risk.

I'm good. It's been very busy with high school football going on. I officiate games 6 days a week in addition to work. I will be on and making videos a lot more once the season is over in a couple of weeks

I used another brand and my X2 that I just got doesn't work,,,,,I'm lucky that SI CS is just so fantastic, they decided the charger probably wasn't the problem and chose to replace it,,,,,,I'm only using the SI charger from now on,,,it's just not worth the risk.

I believe they are referring to the USB charging cable, pcc or 78/65mm USB charger, not the wall charger itself. Maybe imagine can verify this

I've read and heard this many times, but decided to try it and it and it works. I've got a manual 650 X2 and the Volt .5A wall charger will let me use it as a pass through... Am I about to blow something up or is it ok to do if its working? (Or am I miss understanding "pass through"? I always took that to mean it will let you vape and charge at the same time.)

That 1.5A was really meant to power the regular Volt passthrough, which doesn't have an internal battery. With the X2, all you're really doing is charging the battery (which draws very few amps - like 180-190mA, according to Awesum), and when you use it as a passthrough, you're still just vaping from the battery, with whatever partial charge it has, and whatever trickle charge it can get while it's plugged in. So yeah, you're good with the .5A, but keep in mind that it would probably charge faster if you didn't use it as a passthrough while charging.

The passthrough allows you to vape without depleting the charge in the battery. So, if you have a full battery, and plug it into a 1.5 wall charger, you will not deplete the battery. As you vape,it charges the battery. If you use the .5, you will be depleting the battery as you vape, so if you unplugged it right away after vaping, the battery will not be fully charged

I have some blank cartomizers and juice coming in; also I don't vape much( maybe 1 mL tops a day). If I were to fill my 10 blanks with different liquids would it be possible for them to dry out before I use them or do cartos generally stay filled once they've been filled?

I've been having kind of an odd problem... For some reason the CE3s don't want to work on my manual batteries. Occasionally I'll get one that works on one but not the other two, sometimes it won't work on any, sometimes it will work on one but not the same one that worked before... there seems to be no rhyme or reason to when they work except that they don't work more often than they do... My husband only uses the automatic batteries and has no problem at all, they all work on all his batteries, but not on mine. I tried cleaning the threads on both the batteries and the CE3s, but no improvement. Do you have any idea what's going on here? Greatly appreciate any help because I LOVE the CE3s and wish I could use them all the time.

Have you tried raising the battery connector post on your batteries. Especially if you are cleaning them, you may be pushing the posts down. Use a paper clip or thumb tack and use it to gently pry and slight raise the center connector pin on your batteries. You could also try this on the ce3's, but I'm not sure if they move or not.

I keep reading that you need a 1.5 amp wall charger to be able to use an X2 in pass through while charging it. I've checked all five of the X2s I have, all being 650s, and when they need a charge I've used them as pass through, deliberately, to check the current draw. The most that I've seen is about 250 milliamps, 1/4 of an amp and that is on an X2 that's a basket case that I use for a handle when cleaning CE3s. The other four don't even get to 200 milliamps. I'm also watching the supply voltage, on an SI 1.5 amp wall charger by the way, and it really doesn't drop significantly under the load of charging or vaping, dropping maybe a tenth of a volt from 5.1 to 5.0. Bottom line, from what I've seen so far, is that anything over 500ma should more than do the trick as long as it can maintain 5 volts under a load. That said, having excess capacity is a good idea and SI won't guanantee the battery if charged on a non-SI charger according to their web site.

as stated below it is mostly a center post issue...a pair of tweezers should be able to fix it...I will discuss it again with quality control.
