Now I'm kind of wondering about even my DIY stuff..
My main vapes are popcorn, peanut butter, waffle and french toast from Capella's.
I know they don't use Diacetyl.. but now I'm wondering if they use one of those alternative's (i.e 2,3-Pentanedione )
Has anyone asked Tom yet over at Capella?
Unfortunately, all I vape pretty much is butter/nutty stuff : (

I knew about the Diacetyl issue with FA before so I was aware and avoided, and stay with Capella and Lorann. Didn't know about the alternative being bad as well.

I would suggest that being looked into as well.

I don't understand why you guys would even want to use FlavourArt when they are the only FDA (UK equivalent) flavoring company mentioned that still even uses diacetyl. There are several US flavoring companies that are FDA regulated and don't use any so there is no possibility of them or you making a mistake.

I'm looking into Capella's.

For me I think it might be about rewarding the transparency, I guess.

Tasty Vapor has a toll free number. 1-888-389-3229. Let us know what you find out if you call. Please and thank you.

Just had a long conversation with Geoff. He will be chiming in on his forum space with his official response so I don't want to misquote him. But what I will say is he is very aware of these chemicals and the impact if inhaled and his flavors are tested to know every chemical in them. He will post his position on this in his vendor forum. I got to say he took a lot of time to answer my questions and I am very impressed with his ethics as well as his understanding of these chemicals. I am very glad I called him.

Yeah, and I'm expected to believe what a flavoring company tells me? The flavor company at the center of the diacetyl row was proven to have lied for years even when they knew it would kill people. One person got $20m compensation as a result and that's not for a misdemeanor. Flavor companies lie - proven fact. And perhaps more importantly, they might have been lied to by the chemical companies who they source from. Who knows, in a chain of people all relying on what the guy before them told them?

At least with a company who is honest enough to say which ones have diacetyl and which ones don't, there is a better chance of getting an honest answer - IMO.

If someone wants to convince me that their product is clean THEN SHOW ME THE LAB TEST RESULTS. Very simple.

I love hearing things like that. Whether they use diacetyl or not, I highly respect them for their professionalism and transparency.

This was my line of thinking as well.

SeaB, don't forget that highly dubious/ probably a Big tobacco or other vendor shill of a noob over there (points and winks at Jeff).

All the way around, this thread goes in the win column. The more you know, and all. I also feel pretty strongly that I've learned a bit of good information about where I want to spend my money/who I want to support and that's pretty priceless.

Come on...do you really think e-cigs are 100% safe. The only thing 100% safe is NOTHING. Compare these to the analog cigs you smoked every day. A new vender pops up everyday selling this stuff because there is money to be made. A lot of them buy in bulk from china and mix on kitchen table. If you want everything tested you can not afford this product and companies out there cant afford testing....market dead...pick up the analog

Wow, this thread really took off!!! Anyway, I know your not too fond of the FDA Roly, but they did get at least one part of their cGMP right. The fact that chemical companies can and do lie is the reason FDA requires pharma companies(who must follow cGMP) to not just take THEIR supplier's COA at face value. Each supply received must be quarantined and independently tested to make sure it meets the specs listed on it's delivery COA(hardcopy of the results of this analysis must be kept on file indefinitely). Once it passes this test , it can be released from quarantine and introduced into the manufacturing process. How can you possibly know the quality of your finished product if you don't know exactly what you're starting with.

My money is going to the companies that can afford the testing. Simple as that. Companies that aren't testing, shouldn't be selling the stuff, because that shows, they don't have our best interest in the forefront.

Then they don't deserve to be in this market and certainly don't deserve anybody's hard earned money.
