Fiddles, I understand. I liked the company, enjoyed the juice - and right now I'm just feeling betrayed, I guess. My gut instinct is that if "I" was a vendor, I would be reeling if I used diacetyl-containing flavorings. That.. well, that wasn't the reaction. I'm not saying that my reactions are always right, but I agree completely and whole-heartedly that this vendor needs to wake up and consider - just for one moment and publically - the concerns that have been raised, not whether they can offer a sale to newbies for damage control.

Just read that thread and I am not happy about this at all. This issue has me rethinking my juice supplier. While I have been extremely happy with this company's product quality and customer service, I do not believe they are reacting to this appropriately. I vape some of their exclusive mixes and thoroughly enjoy them. But their reaction kind of blows me away. Please note, I am not promoting others to consider switching, this is just a personal decision to how they are treating what looks to be a potentially huge issue.

I can definitely see this side of it. I think there is negligence there, but I think it comes less out of a desire to purposefully withhold information or mislead people. I think it is a combination of inexperienced business owners, idealism, a little paranoia in a highly competitive and unregulated market, and maybe Pride. Your kitty avatar is overdosing, so I'd better finish this up. For me I'm going to be doing DIY for a while lol.

Like I said, I've seen this issue several times since I've been here and nothing changes. The vendors are raking in huge amounts of money and not doing anything to contribute back to the vaping community. How can people follow them like they're saints? I don't give free advertising to ANY vendor in my signature and why should I? But attacking someone for asking a legitimate question is unfortunately the norm here and i wish ECF would put a stop to it. One reason it escalates is that vendors are allowed to have forums or chat rooms that are closed to everyone but approved members. I think this acts to encourage cliques and can promote mob attacks on members not in their group.

The bottom line to this situation is actually a positive. It is bringing awareness to a serious health concern and we are all becoming educated in the process.

Maybe someone should start a Social Group here so the threads won't get lost or shut down. Something to call attention to the need for vendors to comply with health & safety regulations which would include listing ingredients. Any volunteers? My time is committed already but if any of you have time I think it would be helpful to the whole community.

Now I am concerned about some of the liquids I have mixed and have been vaping for months. I was told by many that Wilton Clear Butter Flavor was safe to vape. The only ingredients listed on the bottle are Water ,PG, Artificial Flavors. Does anyone know for sure if this is OK to vape? This is IMO an excellent thread that should be discussed intelligently, openly, and honestly. There are some very concerned individuals (as I believe they should be...it is their right to seek the information) who are only seeking the truth as to how the juice is prepared and what it is prepared with."ALL the ingredients". I'm one of them too.

Any info on Wiltons would be appreciated.

I think asking a vendor if they use diacetyl is not really the route to take. I think the question to a vendor would be to ask them what brand flavorings they use in their juices. Flavoring companies like Bickfords, Capellas, LorAnns and FlavourArt are huge companies that got where they are from the food industry. They will give full disclosure, they have nothing to hide or .....-foot around about. It's the vendors/juice blenders that have a lot to hide. Some will lie through their teeth, where others will say, oh we can't tell you, that's a proprietary secret. So maybe asking vendors what brand flavorings they use? What do you guys think?

Rocky, Wilton's is discussed in this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...d-news-re-wiltons-clear-butter-flavoring.html

I believe it says it is diacetyl-free...but I wasn't clear on whether or not they disclosed what was actually in it.

Very good point, and I completely agree! It would be easy for a vendor to say; Nope, no diacetyl here :)

I would agree with this, but many suppliers will mix their own recipes. So unless they tell you what is in those recipes (which they won't), you have no way of knowing whether or not one of the flavors containing diacetyl is used.

And sadly, I can bet that a lot of juice vendors don't even know if their juices have it.

I'm with you, just noticed the sale for newbies after my last post. I think GoodDog's idea of a social group is an excellent idea.

That is one thing that really bothers me too - in listings of FDA approved food ingredients all they have to say is 'natural and artificial flavorings' and of course diacetyl is such an ingredient. I was looking at LorAnns webside where they say they have full listing of ingredient for each flavor but all you really see basically is PG and 'natural and artificial flavorings'.

I wish - in this case - FDA was a lot stricter.

But what I'm saying is ask them what brand flavors they mix with.
