doh. I thought it seemed weird that counter was tightening... I tried again, cw is tightening it but not that much of an effect. I thought I read one reviewer said you could completely close off the airflow inferring that you can have the draw as tight as you want it or similar to a kfl etc.

Trying to recall now, I believe the airflow on the kfl+ can be completely restricted.

are you talking about the kfl+ or both? I tried on my kfl+ and it will go to nothing, can't do the same on the v4. Can you close the airflow on your v4?

You have to run the screw down as far as the holes in the hex

I like a little airflow restriction as well. Turn all the way in until you get no airflow. Then start turning out while puffing on it until you get out where you want it.

I have the FT "A" version. You'll need a better (bigger) o-ring for #16. The workaround is to put dental floss or thread in the channel where the o-ring sits so you get a better seal.

I had Version A too, but it leaked so bad and I got so frustrated with it trying to tighten or loosen to fix it, that I eventually screwed the thing beyond repair.

As I've now learned, from reading this thread, the juice was definitely coming out of the #16 o-ring.

Thus, I recently ordered another Version A and have learned from my mistakes with trying to fix it. I'm going to try the "DENTAL FLOSS" method.

However, what I'm wondering is, I have to remove the o-ring first before wrapping the floss around, or can I simply go around the o-ring with the hopes that the floss slides underneath the o-ring?

I really don't wanna try to remove and then put back in place the o-ring UNLESS I really have to. I fear pricking it with a tool and possibly damaging it for they are so delicate.

Those of you who have removed it and put it back in place without damaging it, what kind of 'thing' did you use to pry it out ever so slightly? Anything sharp is sure to piece it, no?

Thanks to anybody who can provide me with some answers/instructions with solving the #16 o-ring problem.

I am (was) having leaking problems with #16 o-ring on two FT type A clones, tried all kinds of sizes and used Teflon tape..It would was OK then leak later but after digging around in all those goody bags that I've been collecting from Fasttech I found some (3) 12 x 1.5 mm o-rings and I am quite confident that this is the illusive size for the FT type A clones and probably others that have this problem. I'll post again on if they stay leak free but I'm pretty sure that I got it nailed on the size and fixed.

I use an extremely high tech tool for removing and sometimes installing o-rings, a safety pin
(the pin never (shouldn't) pierces the o-ring, you carefully get the point under it and out and pry it off, something like a shoe horn backwards.

I have two from FT, one Tobeco and a Code Vape and using replacement O-rings solved any issues that I had with these tanks. It's worth going to the The O-Ring Store and picking up what you need for a couple bucks. Their shipping is fast and your can do the swap and just enjoy your K4 without hassles.

When I turn all the way it does not completely cutoff airflow. I disassembled everything except the deck when cleaning it so I can't see how I mucked up anything with the afc screw.

Because of the lack of instructions, I top filled the tank and had juice everywhere. I did not know about closing the juice tank option. Checked videos on the internet, cleaned unti and battery of ejuice. This time, I closed the tank section, filled, then opened the tank section. No leaks and flavor is great. I not think it is the best kayfun I have.

Not sure what is going on with yours. I have only had mine for a day to mess with, but yes, when I turned the airflow screw all the way in, I could not pull any air through it. Then backed it out to where I prefer the air flow.

You might have ran the screw past the air holes. Try putting the screw to where the little holes are check the pull and then adjust to your liking.

To safely remove the orings, for oring #16, I would squeeze one corner of the oring together till it pops up and slide it off from there. You have to have dry fingers for this to work also. It will come off easily without damage. I just tried it myself. Don't use and tools! You can kill an oring with tools if not 100% careful.

dwcraig1 please keep us posted on 12 x 1.5 oring and how does it hold. Is it easy to close the JC with 12 x 1.5?

If I'm going to be replacing the o rings then I don't care what I do to them. If I'm going to put it back, I use one of those little blue screwdrivers that I ground up to make very smooth. Since I have a ton of those, and don't use them, they are perfect for turning into o ring removal tools.
