Thanks for the video - great minds think alike - have been watching every authentic Prime vid this morning - mine is still not functioning properly. I have a couple more questions, second one relating to Busardo’s video:
1) on one dot when air flow control window it UP, looking thru the window level half my airflow hole is occluded on the bottom. When I snap airflow closed, over half of the airhole is occluded on the top. Is your prime (anyone, please) like that?? Or is entire airhole visible in the window in either or both position?
This brings me to 2) bearing in mind, I don’t own a kayfun 5 to compare to, in Busardo’s video, when he compared his authentic Prime with the kayfun 5, I noticed that 510 plate was not flush with base on BOTH tanks when he turned them over and both were in closed (airflow snapped down positions) This can be seen starting at 15:31 mark of his Prime review video. So, are your 510 plates completely flush with base when airflow snapped shut, or does it stick out enuf to see the dot(s)?
Btw, Eric at OV has been amazing!!!! I got this Prime in record time once it was in stock. He has also held one that is still in stock back for me to give me time to determine if mine is indeed defective.

1. The air hole is not level with the slot in either fully raised or fully lowered. It is exactly as you describe.

2. The 510 plate is flush with the base on my Prime when the airflow is snapped shut.

Pretty much the same as Bronze.

With the juice control 'closed' and the air slot set to 1 dot/hole; with the ring down looking through the slot about 1/3 of the bottom of the air hole is visible. With the ring up, a bit more of the air hole is visible.

With the juice control opened 1 turn; about 1/2 the hole is visible with the ring 'down' in vaping position and a bit more visible with the ring raised.

With the ring raised or lowered the bottom plate is flush with the ring.

Yep, Origin Vape did ship out quickly when they re-stocked. I got my Prime yesterday, so I can finally join the thread. It's quite possible it will become my fav topper, particularly since it sits atop a JAC so well. On it's widest setting it's fine for my style of a loose MTL vape. And perhaps since the chamber is a bit smaller than the KFV5 (my current fav) the vape is slightly warmer which I like. The wait was worth it. So nice when a new piece of vape gear meets expectations, and in this case (for me) might have exceeded expectations.

The JAC/Prime is an excellent pairing.

Are you using it with TC?

Thank you again, Bronze, and thank you, Mike! Believe I’m finally making some progress! I took off the 510 plate and pulled off the outer ring. Sure enough the piece with all the different sized holes was not properly snapped in - I know this because I put it back in, and hearing a nice snap, I now do believe my Prime may be functioning as intended! I can move the airflow ring pretty easily without having to take off the tank and hold by the deck. I guess the proof will be in the pudding - I’m gonna put a build in and give it a go, but taking a needed break after all the time and research I’ve put into solving this problem. BTW, I never could quite get as restricted airflow (without a whistle) as I’ve wanted in my Kfm3, but do believe I’m gonna need at least 2 dots, maybe even 3! Boy is this airflow nice. I’ve only tried with empty tank but will decide when I really vape it.
I can’t help but wonder if better packaging from Soemesto might have made a BIG difference for me, as a drop or slide (or heavy package thrown on top) could have easily jostled my Prime inside the thin cardboard. I tried to change my mood to “Hopeful” but settled on breezy, rather than tired. But me sure is tired.

Good news! Don't forget to lube up the airflow following each cleaning. Get the two o-rings on the deck and the lower inner portion of the bell cap. I use mineral oil. Lip balm and vaseline works too and even e-liquid in a pinch. This helps with opening and closing without taking the base with it.

No I'm not. When we got our first couple JACs I tried out TC on the JAC and a LavaBox ... I didn't have any success. I either couldn't come close to my Kanthal builds or (and this drove me nuts) I get it Ok and was starting to like it ... but when I put it down for a couple hours or overnight ... then my first vapes after it rested were like 'yikes'. I'd have to turn the temp down 20-30 degrees or it was way too warm/hot. My base was: watts max set to 20-25 watts and temp at 430 or so. Then after vaping a bit, it would get anemic and I'd have to set the temp back up. This happened to me on both the JAC and the LavaBox (also DNA 75). When it worked it was OK, but I couldn't solve the fluctuation with the vape. I went back to Kanthal.

Nice to hear you've made progress! Say ... did your Prime have the deck screws in place out of the box. I was surprised mine didn't, never bought any atty that didn't have the screws in the deck. There were 4 Phillips and 4 flat head screws in the spare parts bag though.

I guess I was lucky 3.5 years ago in that I found a juice I love--Space Jam Eclipse--fairly early on in the process.

I stumbled on this post when looking for info on the prime and on a whim ordered some. Damn dude...it's stellar. Pairs very nicely with the Tin Cup whiskey I am drinking.

And whoever suggested Giant Vapes thank you too. I had been looking for a vendor with a good selection that allowed me to filter based on nic strength. They shipped super quick and sent some goodies with my order. Just fantastic. Group hug for my ecig peeps. :)

EDIT: just one more shout out to share. Origin Vape is an amazing vendor. Go there. Buy stuff. You won't be disappointed. This is a great bunch of folks.

Hi Mike, no, me either - no screws on nails on actual deck when delivered, but I have two screws in it now, and think 6 more in little bag with O rings - didn’t look, but maybe 4 screws, 4 nails total - used screws just because was so tired last nite and I am used to those. Prime vapes like a charm, love it, unfortunately when I woke up and tried to adjust airflow it’s back to same blankety blank issues. Eric from OV suggested taking out little white insulator in 510 plate and putting it in upside down, but didnt help either. Real bummer.... I’m gonna mess with it a little more, then call it quits if not fixed. Too much time and frustration, not to mention all the handling of a brand new mod.

For Bronze, I use Burt bees lip balm with pomegranate oil to lube. Smells good and works great!

Thanks for support you’all.

For what it's worth: I'm no materials expert, but for lubing, I've always heard not to use petroleum products (vaseline) on o-rings. I believe it supposedly breaks down true rubber (is that even still used?). And that you shouldn't use silicone lubricants on silicone based o-rings, because it'll make them swell. Since I don't know what most orings I'm using are made of, I generally use this on any o-rings anywhere:
upload_2017-11-29_14-53-39.png

Food safe, no odor or flavor, and it's supposed to be safe to use on all types of o-rings. I use it for seals on my brew kegs, and this small, cheap container will last me forever, using it on kegs, attys and misc. items. It really coats a ring better than anything I've seen, and has crazy staying power, even when heated. I use it when the atty is new to really protect them, and I still use vg on exposed rings as well, as it helps them "glide" better. This stuff is pretty thick.
Only $2.54 here, or available online at any homebrew shop.

In spite of issues with my Prime, or maybe because of the customer service I’m actively receiving, I’m an Origin Vapes customer for life and especially on anything Kayfun related. STELLAR customer service from Eric and I can tell that OV really care about their customers! Extremely impressed! I sure hope I’ve communicated about this well as I’ve gone on this Prime journey with you’all.

Seems you're at a point where a replacement is in order.

I guess I was lucky 3.5 years ago in that I found a juice I love--Space Jam Eclipse--fairly early on in the process. Then I spent a lot of money looking for a less expensive alternative and never found it. But I have found a dealer that runs lots of sales and that's taken the sting out of the cost. I also vape unflavored at work, and I can buy a liter of that for 40 bucks or so. And I stumbled upon one other juice I like pretty well that's nothing like Eclipse but fairly affordable. I keep three mods going at home on my desk with Eclipse and the other two. Eclipse probably gets 75% of the use, but it's nice to switch off to the others.

Keep at it. You'll find one you like.
I was intrigued by your post about the Eclipse, since I'm always on the lookout for an ADV, and it sounded good. Don't want any sucralose in my food, so not in my vape either. And thus I always contact a vendor to ask if they use it, before I place an order. Did that with SpaceJam about a week ago and no reply. Maybe they're busy with all the sales and the holiday. But, they wouldn't be the first which blew me off. We'll see.

If you hear back, I will be surprised. I wrote a couple of times a couple of years ago asking about diacytel and never heard back.

do you think i can use the prime for the first time without washing it?
I'd like to understand it a bit before before unscrewing things and removing o-rings.
i never had a tank with an active juice control and this kind of airflow setting,
the only kayfun i have is the kfl+v2/russian91.

You don't have to pull o-rings off. Just dissemble what needs to be disassembled. No reason to go any further.

You should end up with six pieces.

1) Drip tip
2) The top cap that holds the drip tip
3) The top cap that screws into the chimney
4) The glass
5) The chimney
6) The deck

Put it in warm soapy water for 10 minutes, rinse, put back together. EZPZ.

without letting it dry ?
I'm concerned about water getting below the o-rings and creating rust.
and i especially suspect that in the deck area, water will reach all kind of places and will take longer to dry.

anyhow,by your answer i guess i do need to wash it,so i think i'll just take everything a part and take pictures beforehand.
