Hello my friends...short story, I bought kf prime(original), but since that day I have a problem that I can find solution, from time to time my draw becomes a bit tight, to u understand the problem I found I have liquid to the airflow I vape mtl, but when this happen if i draw dl draw everything goes ok for a few puffs and then again the same problem, I use 50/50 around 1.2 to 1.3 ohms with cb prime or nw platinum blend also for the jfc I turn it 1 time and sometimes a bit more. And this is a photo of my current build, I cut the cotton in the oring and I put it gently inside the wells.

A view at 90 degrees to the pix you posted might be useful (i.e., a side view to see how wide your wick is). Best I can tell it appears you have a large diameter coil and a big puffy wick. If I understand you correctly, it sounds as if liquid is going in the air passage and restricting your airflow. This is usually because the wick acts as a conduit to your air passage below the coil. juice bunches up on your wick and then gets on the deck surface next to the air hole and down it goes...the faucet has been turned on. I would try changing up your coil/wick configuration.

Try trimming the sides of the wick tails to make them more slender. Paste them to the outer wall to get them as far away from the middle as you can (insert a small screwdriver between the wick and the inner well wall). The goal is to keep the wicks away from the inside well wall (closest to the air hole). What diameter is your coil? A 2.5mm dia is ideal but I know some people use 3.0mm.

I use 2.5mm diameter, so if i understand you correctly you mean the sides that the cotton touch in the hooks there were the screws?
Better picture. It appears you have a lot of wick coming out of your coil. The tails are the wick portion that are outside of your coil. they look very bushy to me. You can use the same 2.5 dia. coil and even use the same size wick. Except next time trim the tail width (not talking about the length at this time). Trim them from the ends up to the end of the coil. Make them more slender so there is less volume coming out of the coil (trim perhaps 1/3rd in total). You can trim the two sides of the wick tail equally. Then paste them as far to the outside (away from the air hole) as you can. The goal is to have some space between your wick and the inner well wall to keep it away from the air hole. It's hard to maintain that space if the wick tail is to voluminous (bushy).

If your wick tails are...

...too bushy, one of two things could happen (or both). It can squeeze off the flow of juice to your wells by plugging those little juice holes you see on the floor of the wells. It can also act as a conduit to your air hole which directs some of your juice flow into the air passages thru the air hole below your coil. Or,

...not bushy enough and it wont wick enough juice to your coil.

There is a happy medium in there that you need to find.

Ok I find time to clean my base and make a new setup, to see how it works. By the way if you and me speak the same language and see how the google translates what you say, you will be laughing until the sun goes off
Probably like a sign attached to my .... that says, "KICK ME". :)

Hi fam, soo last night I clean my base make a coil a bit low for my taste 1.15ohms but it's ok. As always 50/50 liquid, and for wicking I used cb prime. As we talk it's almost the first day that I have no issue with the prime and believe me I have it 5 months and every 2 day I was wicking, anyway I think Bronze gave me useful tips but something was more useful than I thought, slender the leads that outside the coil and that no one tell me before.Anyone says just fluffed and you are good to go and I was fluffing only the cotton that goes to the juice wells, cb prime was fluffed too much same with the leads, booom taste 10/10 and for liquid in the airflow 0/10, I think it's more then a success story. Oh sorry for my grammar or my language it's a bit out of order

i tried the cotton bacon prime for the last few weeks after using mainly KGD and muji,
I've found that i need to open my air flow a bit more on the KFL+ as it feels very thick and "heavy",
but still wicks well and has good taste but not as clear and fresh as the mentioned above.
BTW i managed to fix the air flow ring on the KPrime(some needle nose pliers and some pushing with my fingers),
but still amazed how it got bent so easily considering the effort i had to put to bring it back to place.

Been trying all the new MTL tanks that have been coming out, but none of them knock the prime out of rotation :)

I like that drip tip design....If it were square at the top and perhaps 1mm shorter, it would be really perfect for me....where did you get it?

You ever tried rayon? Just curious if you did, on how it compares? I have never tried any of the hi end cotton, all I ever used was regular cvs sterile cotton (that was the first cotton I used when cotton first became popular ) I then switched to rayon and have tried regular kdg....

Glad you got it rocking!!! I do have a video on the first page of this thread, showing wick trimming as Bronze describes...

I believe it came from fasttech, not bad for a cheap drip tip, find it very comfortable due to rounded edges on it.

Edit! i thought you were talking about silica wicks instead of Rayon,
anyhow, still the same answer; i only tried Japanese cotton and CB.
one thing i should add,is that the CB Prime is much more forgiving imo as it has got great wicking capabilities.

Hello, after many tests with cb prime in my kayfun I have some good builds maybe 6 with some problems but without the main, but recently I bought some pads of kgd and my builds got accurate every time I'm wicking my kayfun, and when I mean accurate, no change of color and without liquid in the airflow, I'm thinking leave the cb, maybe I'm a bit off topic but I think that kayfun prime is an rta who likes simple things.
