first of all would like to thank you all for recommendations and everything else. this is the order I should receive by next week.
Sutliff Apple Flavor 1 OZ
Dunhill Nightcap (Tin & Bulk) Dunhill Nightcap 1 OZ
Peter Stokkebye 41 Cube Cut 1 OZ
Cornell & Diehl Exclusive 1 OZ
Cornell & Diehl Billy Budd 1 OZ
Sutliff Voodoo Queen 1 OZ
Rocky Patel Vintage '90 Vintage '90 Perfecto SINGLE
Sutliff Private Stock Molto Dolce 1.5 OZ CAN
McClelland Avenue Blend Nutty Hazel 1 OZ

I'm planning on trying a cold PG extraction and maybe fill up my Ultrasonic with warm water and let it run a few 30 minutes cycles.
Is there a reason why we shouldn't chop the tobacco say on a coffee grinder (chloropyll?)? would it be possible to "toast" the leaves and pulverize it afterwards? (sorry if these are beyond stupid questions)
after doing all of those filterings would it be possible to do the very last one using a lower syringe micron filter like this?

Seems like filtration is really the only major upfront expense.

Filtration can easily account for over half the total cost of making extract. If using filter paper like http://www.amazon.com/dp/B006H8WMFU/ref=biss_dp_t_asn each individual filter costs 2.4 cents, but each can process over 100ml of extract. For better economy, filter felt is reusable/cleanable so this http://www.amazon.com/Singed-Polyes...41070131&sr=1-1&keywords=1+micron+filter+felt sheet of 1 micron felt would be a one time expense and provide the average home extractor a -lifetimes- worth of filtration.

It probably could've cost half that, or less. But I am still in "exploring' mode. A 13cm funnel, designed for 11cm round filters, and 100 each of 'fast', 'medium', and 'slow' 11cm paper filters, plus shipping from three different places (damn Amazon) should give me plenty of leeway in finding the right filtration.
Besides, when I was a younger man and had several questionable vices (not all of which were legal) I could blow through $35 in mere minutes.

Some excellent tobacco choices, someone's going to be a happy camper. I can vouch for Nightcap, Billy Bud and Voodoo Queen they produce flavorful extracts. I placed an order with P&C yesterday and have Molto Dolce, Exclusive and the Rocky Patel vintage '90 cigar coming my way so we'll have to compare notes of those.

In my opinion grinding or pulverizing the tobacco might cause filtering difficulties down the road, shredded tobacco works extremely well.

Filtering at sub-micron levels will reduce flavor but doesn't yield greatly increased performance. From what I've tried 1 micron is the cutoff before flavor is adversely effected and filtering a 1 micron doesn't seem to yield much better performance than does 1.5 or 2 micron filtration.

High levels of filtration does remove particulate plant matter which significantly improves the performance of a NET. Unfortunately, mechanical filtration alone doesn't remove the oil, wax, resin and sugars leeched from the tobacco during extraction, one of the reasons most NET is hard on coils and wicks. For a cleaner better performing extract you must change extraction solvents but doing so increases costs and involves a slightly more complicated extraction procedure which requires extra steps (precipitating the oil, wax, resin out), making it a bit more "fiddly".

Had to add this here although I haven't extracted it yet. Probably won't be the “Best Tobacco For Flavor Extraction” but who knows. Hope you don't mind @Str8vision. I'll definitely report back when it's done.

Reviewer PebbleBrainGet'nAshtoniteover at Tobacco Reviews.com gives this description:

"Very odd appearance and fragrance, with an aroma almost like meal worms or reptile food..."

Here's the link to that review:
Tabac Manil - Fleur de Semois - Tobacco Reviews

It is also listed as a single variety Burley with no casing or flavoring added.

Now were talking a serious extract. Added to cart! LOL!

Definitely got my attention, :) Gotta love the description, could be very interesting! I've never extracted Semois, curious to hear what kind of flavor it yields.... Good find!

Im not gonna experiment with my 1st order from P&S (gonna jut go with a looong cold PG90%/10%Pga extraction) I wanted to buy some bulk good pipe tobacco hopefully aromatic to make some different stuff. I was hoping to get some recommendations on source and a good aromatic that would fit the bill.
prolly gonna need to get some jars (do dollar store have some of those?)

thanks, guys! so 4 and 8 oz for an once of goodies! was also thinking about a nice way to dry up those leaves (peeps on tobacco forums talk about using stain foil on low heat oven, microwave, dry blower or simply let it dry on the open. most of those techniques aim to make snus with addiction of salt and molasses so that they can shove up their noses).

12 mason jars filled. 1 oz. of tobacco and 150ml of PG in each. Now to set in a dark, cool place until Valentine's Day. 13 weeks should be plenty. I am seriously going to try to keep out of them and just let the maceration process run it's course. I've already got nearly 60ml of pure NET extract that BK was kind enough to send, and over 50 small bottles of DIY flavors laying around. Don't think I will run out of something to vape anytime soon.....
