We'd have some serious cash to spend on this if vape gear and eLiquid vendors did what Brownell's and Midway do... you can have your purchase price "rounded up" to whatever number you want, and have that amount donated to the NRA-ILA (legislative and lawsuit wing of the NRA). If Midway and Brownell's can raise millions and millions over the years for the NRA ILA initiatives, we could do it for CASAA. Some firearms online stores and B&M's let you join the NRA right there, and even give a discount on your purchase sometimes. This would increase our CASAA numbers. Why reinvent the wheel?

I agree.

I get e-Mail alerts from Midway and Cheaperthandirt on a weekly bases.

I think that e-Cigarette/e-Liquid Retails (both Online and B&M) could Step Up their game.

Agree.

A cornerstone with CASAA is that it's been important to them to be 100% independent and an consumer organization ONLY. They accept zero money from business of any kind. They have been accussed of being a front group for tobacco since day one and are STILL associated with tobacco in the media and by public health groups. This is how they've responded.

Effective? I think that's open to debate. I do believe not accepting funds from tobacco companies has been effective. But not accepting funding / drawing a hard line from the vaping industry ... It is what it is. CASAA certainly could have benefitted from more self-promotion, organized membership drives and a higher profile but that's all hindsight. CASAA is made up of vapers like you and me, not professional organizers. This is not what they do for a living.

SFTAFA is a different story. They DO hire lobbyists and there's a drive to get at least one chapter in every state. Business join and hire a local lobbyists for that state to keep them informed.

Therein lies the problem (IMO) is that customers are more concerned about the survival of a business than many of the owners are. YOU need to contact your local b&m to see where they stand / if they know anything at all and get them to join. Fun?

Thanks for the info. I didn't explicitly know about that distinction on accepting donations from businesses. Interesting.

Yes we have a similar threat over here in the European Union. Seems like the powers that be on both sides of the pond have vested interests in large corporate organisations but that's just me being cynical.

Somehow the vaping community needs to get together to fight these threats or we'll all be buying direct from China. And that would cause exactly the situation the regulators and authorities claim they are trying to stop.

The fda ban on tanks clearos etc....

If a Product does Not Include Nicotine derived from Tobacco or Tobacco Itself, the FDA has No Authority Over it.

Tanks and Clears will serve, I believe.

It's the e-Liquids and Nicotine Bases where the Problems will be.

If they were able to ban tanks and clearos, would that mean that it would be illegal to use them in your own home or in public?

If they were able to ban flavored e-liquids, would it be legal to flavor your own?

Is it possible for them to ban DIY e-liquid?

I have a lot of concerns as a vaper, of course, but these run through my mind a lot.

Yes ... they could make nicotine base very hard to obtain.

If they were able to ban flavored e-liquids, would it be legal to flavor your own? They will never be able to ban diy flavours or the use of them privatly imo

s it possible for them to ban DIY e-liquid? biggest concern is the nicotine , it could become hard to get or hard to get at a strenght practical for DIY
