EDIT: Important update for the version 1 mod.. Info below.

Glad to hear.. will be interested in your results!

What i found that works for me with my "thin" juice, is to put an extra layer on top ef the plug. A thin extra layer that i cut from another plug. What that does is make the brige touch the plug better and compress the plug more so it closes the holes tighter in the foam. NO LEAKAGE! Works great!

So great i just got done watching the World Series of Poker 2:30+ minutes final table and its still going! hehe.. Love it.

I tried that a few days ago with the extra layer and thought it was'nt nessisary as i should be making the plug a little larger to fix it but after doing this twice now and with that plug leaking before and great after.. i think its the fix for me.. till i get some thicker juice with vg in the mix. Seems that most are using thick juice and figure thats the whole damn difference.

I introduce you to the newest version of the BFP titled 'The Slug" Blue Foam Plug v2.0. :)

Waste no juice! Maximize your cart filler space with no filler by using "The Slug" so you hold more e-juice!

Dont use a flat tip 510 cart with a staw.. BUY A ROUND CART SO YOU CAN USE THIS MOD! The flat tip 901/510 cart wont have the inner lips inside the cart to hold the plug in place.

If your using a 801 then you have room to spare.. 901.. well either one you may want to ask yourslef why your using them and not the 510. If you didnt like the 510 before.. you may want to try again now.

Why use a spring or staw or a cart full of blue foam or any other filler material as it will eat up valuable realistate. Dont think a straw takes up much space? Fold that straw up and shove it down in the cart and see how much space is left? Crunch down any filler you put into your cart and take a look at how much space is left?

Want a cart that may last loger?? Hours? No waste of space here.. no leaking cart either. So just think about that for a minute.. no more wasted juice thats stuck in the bottom of the cart or in your mouth!

This cart is the one you've been waiting for!

Now onto the new version mod:

The 510 "Round" cart mod "The Slug" BFP v2.0.

This one hugs the atty making perfect contact. Its higher and touches not ony the top but the sides where the wick is located. Imagine the foam in a "U" shape where the bottom end of the U plugs the fulid chamber and is lays across the opening resting on the inner lips and the sides come up and hugs the bridge. The fluid would ofcourse follow the shape of the slug from the bottom of the U then up the sides as it wicks. Works beautifully and consistant! Everytime i inserted the slug into a cart and cut it, it works the same each time! :)

Its easy to make and install and top off if needed. Also to remove and reinstall will also be easier then ever.

You dont need to be accurate with the cut.. but depending on how thick your juice is you'll have to adjust the thickness. If its leaking alot cut it thicker at 1/4 inch. If it has a hard draw and seems to run dry even though if you look at it or poke it and see juice in there then try cutting the width at between 3 16ths and a 1/4 inch.

I ntoiced with the other version the draw was too airy for me.. This one firms it up for a good firm draw but still lets air pass threw the meterial to aid in wicking. Dont go crazy and drag too hard or it may flood.

I dare you to use this for a day or 2 and go back to what you were using prior for a day! hehe.. You'll notice a huge difference as the saying holds true "You dont know what you got, till its gone." ;)

Found out that folding and inserting it this way and doing a blind cut is no good. From now on just cut the length of the piece to 3/4 inches long. Then insert something between the 2 halfs you'll have after inserting the slug and make a nice indention for the bridge of the atty to rest in.. The old way was too long and too high. The bridge was pushing the slug. I think that was causing it to leak.

Glad this is working for you, but I have to ask why would you fold the straw for the RSP mod? Stuck straight in, you can probably put the same amount of drops in as with this mod, because you don't put the filler in as deep. Let us know how this holds up after a few days of use - I'll consider going to the pet store! ;)

Just to show you how much wasted space you have using a staw in the cart. If its a flat tip 510/901/801 cart then you'll have to use the straw to hold the plug. No reason to advise people to use the straw to hold the plug if they have the inner lips that the round 510 cart has.

I just filled the cart, cut off a little blue piece and shoved it in... works great 4 me.

What kind of liquid are you using VaporHead? I did this a while back when this thread was young using somewhat thinner liquid and it worked great. I'm trying the new version with some High Voltage liquid (much thicker) from nhaler right now and so far it's working pretty good.

I'll know for sure when this one dries up but from the looks of things, that may be a while yet.

Thanks for all of your efforts Eclypse, much appreciated!

I'm liking it so far, Eclypse. Replaced my old plugs in 3 carts and will give them a try tomorrow. This may be just the fix for the awful atty flooding when the unfolded small plugs get too soggy or don't hug the sides of the cart quite right.

The only thing that would have made your instructions perfect: if you would have used your handy ruler to measure the exact length to cut for a 501 cart! True to form, you'll probably post that next! :D

Thanks, Eclypse, for some great vaping!! :thumb:

I was having problems with it drying up prematurely using ECOpure liquid and went back to the original plug mod and all is well. It seems strange that the folded method worked better for me with the thicker HV liquid and the 1st method works better with the thinner stuff.

It seems like it would be the other way around.

Have you traveled with these? I'm just wondering whether having a reservoir of liquid at the bottom may cause issues with leakage while being bounced around in a pocket or something. I'm asking this out of complete ignorance, as I'm brand new to this and the goal for me would be to have a mod that enables me to travel with the cart.

Hi Kermie. I've noticed that sometimes when I leave my ecig on my desk, that a small amount sometimes leaks out. That's with the regular filler in the carts.

I am using crap vanilla mixed with vg, it's supposed to be 30mg but feels like 8

anyways,.. I guess the vg makes it thicker but I could fill the cart, cap it with a piece of the blue foam size u, turn it upside down and it wouldn't leak... It also seems you can keep reusing the carts you modded with the blue plug... I've been using the same 5 carts for a few days now, I just refill them with fluid when they go dry. I ordered a syringe that would make this even easier. I don't know if this works with pg mixes, but with the vg mix it doesn't leak.. a full cart lasts me over 3 hours... I can still get Vapor after that, but I choose to just change them out or refill after 3 hours for the full vape effect. I'll try to get motivated today to demonstrate in another video:thumb:

I don't have any of the blue foam, so haven't tried it. However I have those flat green scrubbers for washing pots. I tried that as a plug and it works great. Got it right my first try. Doesn't leak or flood the atty. This stuff is to hard to measure and cut. Moves around too much. So I just cut a stip about the width of the cart end and then cut a piece off of that a bit bigger than the cart. I just held the green scrub material againt the end of the cart where it goes with my one finger on top of the cart (mouth end) and one nail on the scrub material and then using good snips, I just cut around it using the carts' outside as my guide. Worked perfect. I made a dozen plugs that way. Have to be a bit careful. I gouged the cart end a teeny bit in one spot doing this. But it makes a perfect measuring guide. The thickness of the cart wall just gives the right amount extra that's needed to hold it perfectly in place. Don't see why this wouldn't work with the foam too. I also tried one using a paper punch. It comes out a bit smaller, but I tried it and it seems to work ok too. But for good measure, I made the rest with the cut around method. A bit bigger and a better fit.

Be careful!! The green scrubbers usually have metal abrasive particles embedded in them. You're better off using the non-scratch scrubbers that don't have the abrasives added. They are often colored blue.

That would be this mod Reservoir Straw & Plug Mod (RSP Mod)

Make sure that scrubber dont have abrasives.

Vaporhead.. Cant tell from your video but are you putting the plug in the top of the cart vertical or horizontal? If its vertical, i've tried that before but it seemed that the natural thickness was'nt enough and it would leak with my thin juice.

Oh and nice video.. Alot better then last time since you tried talking this time. hehe.

P.S. You need to change the name from fluval to foam.. There both the same as in fish tank filters but there totally different material.

Hey - eclypse - great instructional!!! As I'm still partial to the flat tip carts, it's still working for me even without a straw to hold it up. I'll be trying the folded slug and see how it works with the flat tips as well (sans straw...):thumb:
BTW - yesterday I showed it to a co-worker I got started on a 510 - this morning he was ecstatic with the way the blue foam worked - said he vaped 5 hours straight last night.....:D
