I can't see how it would? The tank itself is not being read, the coil is. Most build decks are made of metal of some kind, so really, no, I don't think so. The temp reading should be coming from your coil temp, is my understanding. I can't imagine (well I guess I could imagine, but it's unlikely) that your tank material is going to make a difference.

Nah, TC only measures the coil's resistance and estimates temperature based on the metal's temperature coefficient of resistance. The coil should be insulated from the tank's surfaces. Otherwise you'd likely have a short circuit.

As this thread dies out, I would like to thank everyone who participated.
TC with SS coils is a much cleaner vape than meck/ kanthal delivers. A true improvement in vaping.
Appreciate all the help
I agree. TC is not a huge improvement over power mode but it is quite significant versus mech. There is a bigger gap between mech and power than there is between power and TC. But I do prefer TC. They all have a place though.

I remember when mech was the craze (after regulated mods were well-established). Retailers couldn't keep them on their shelves. There were several reasons for this. One, they were smaller than regulated mods because they didn't require space for a chipset. People liked smaller devices (and still do for the most part). Two, it's about the time the feds announced they were looking at regulating the vape industry. Because mech devices were near-maintenance free and indestructible versus regulated mods people scarfed up the mechs figuring if vaping got banned at least they would have a "forever" device. The industry dove in with both feet and made some really pretty mech mods that made them even more attractive. And like every other fad, it faded. The regulated mods just have too many advantages. But I still have my Nemesis and it will outlive me whether vaping is banned or not. :)

I have not participated but eagerly read. I am now a JAC vaping TC fan.

Yup I have a Nemesis stashed away for my end of the world bunker. Otherwise I vape in TC 90% of the time. It's still a nice mech and plenty of folks here love their mechs and mech squonkers. The simplicity and durability is unquestioned, but I'm happy with my vape as is, just as those folks are. The great thing about vaping is there is no only one way to do it "right".

...And how many REOS Mods did I own before Vapaggedon ? ;)
I was wondering what took people so long ! Still have my "At Work" mechs, and once I find some 18350 batteries I trust I will get my VV Reos going again.
But Temperature Control is a welcome advance in Vaping.

I knew we'd get you sooner or later.

Old, crotchety, set in my ways but you all did it.
You sorta learn after you've been on this rock awhile that there are times you're better off leaving well enough alone. At our beginning stages of dementia we usually screw up anything we change. And if we don't then it can be attributed to pure luck. Best way is to let some other old, crotchety bloke stumble on something better and just follow him around like a lemming which is how we all got here.

Ahhh, "luck" that mysterious force that keeps my car between the ditches.

Be glad you're only 500 posts behind. By this weekend you'll be behind by another 500. Bunch of enablers around here.
I have made it through the first 300 so far. I actually do find it interesting since I was arms length from this one. The back and forth has been enlightening with regards to the various mindsets. Most everybody knows mine, its fun to just sit back and watch.
