This build is really juice sucker even compare to subohm that I used to lol, one thing that I notice is I have to keep the wick really wet by that I mean when vape it have to gurgle, if not, it give me a burnt taste hot leg like, this really confuse me because there's no short or hot leg when I test fire before put the cotton in.

Experimenting with this build. There's a little cave opening under the cotton mound to direct the air through the coil to the opening up top. Using thin cotton yarn to cinch down the cotton against the coil so it can keep it in constant contact and to "attempt" seal up the top cap a little more so all the air goes through the coil. Flavor feels a little light though but the vapor is there.

Hey phee coil looks pretty good. What size wire, what did you wrap on.. It looks nano. Your cotton looks way too dense to me. Don't compact it so much shoot for wispy airy cotton wick. Start with a small amount almost the size you want Very lightly form it to size. Hold it up to the light and you should see it as a bright white. Darker areas are more compacted. Fluff it up around your coil more also will help.

Lurked this thread until tonight when i finally got a micro-coil wrapped on 20ga drill bit. My 2nd build/attempt is 29ga kanthal wrapped 9/10, measured 1.1ohms on a provari (probably 0.8-0.9ohms true). I used the same "helix" steel wire method (3/32" unravelled to 2 individual strands, cut 1-2mm above the deck). The "wick" is boiled organic cotton ball, fluffed and thread in and around the coil.

I'm not getting quite the same fire-breathing dragon vapor as some of you, but with the cap on, i get the thickest and most vapor i've ever been able to produce!

After I enjoy this build, maybe a tank or two, I'll rebuild it with an eye towards getting that amazing vapor production you show in your videos.

iTEO, man, you've pioneered amazing new ground for vaping and now my AC9 has become a favorite again!

Thank you!

You are correct, there's only a faint vapor coming out off the wrapped coil but behold when you vape... I have not touched my drippers since, yes it's that good.

Don't thread the coil, just wrap it with cotton... keep the holes on both sides open and you will get the vapor production I get.

Question for iTEO & everyone else, how often do you change out the cotton beds on your drippers? I chain vaped my nimbus dragon build for three days until i started getting a consistent burned taste no matter how much I saturated the cotton. I just now yanked out the old cotton & put new beds in & it's working just as well as it did as a new build.

Update on the Volcanic Dragon Vertical Coil Build for Kayfun style rba's

I now wrap up and around the negative post because I connect the top coil lead to the negative post, which leaves a wire dog leg over and down to the screw. Noticed that this dogleg would turn red hot when firing. So decided to cover it with cotton to help keep it from getting to hot, and it also holds the blanket in place.

Working great. Makes re-wicking a breeze, Simply pull out old cotton blanket, dry burn coil, and then gently push new fluffy cotton back in. Saturate cotton with juice, test, assemble, fill and vape.

I don't totally surround the coil with cotton, I don't cover the positive terminal block. Cotton blanket looks like a "C" surrounding most of the coil. We found that to much cotton will tend to flood. Also since the dogleg holds the cotton between the combustion chamber wall and the negative wire, the cotton is not making full contact on that side of the coil. Though once saturated with juice, and the cotton expands, you couldn't tell that by looking. Since doing this little tweak, I haven't had any flooding issues. Great tasting thick vape.

On my second tank with a new DIY recipe Using Captain Black extract, with a dash of Cinnamon Danish, ~8% flavor 80% VG and 13mg nic. Very tasty. Similar to a Virginia Fired Tobacco juice but with a cinnamon after taste to the Captain Black full rich flavor. Very addictive, Quickly wrote the recipe in my e-book and made a 50ml batch before I forgot how I made it. lol Dragon Loving DIY too.

I built a nano style on a nimbus clone with about 12 wraps to get it to register on an SVD and cranked it to 13 watts. Awesome, every exhale is a room filler. Eats juice and batteries like it's nobodies business. I figure 4 drops of juice gets me 7 puffs if i'm lucky. I think I might buy a mechanical with high amp limit just to experiment. Thanks OP.

Built a dual on the trident (SO much easier then the igo L) did 8 wraps on the 5/16 bit and came out at .7 ohms. decided to go back to threading peaching and creme cotton yarn through the coil. Working very good, good flavor and hit. Still dont think it really makes the clouds bigger then my single coil builds.

Hello everyone.

I've been lurking on this thread for a bit and I gotta say this is pretty nifty.

Just for clarification, this is basically the same concept a cartomizer uses except the goal is instead of the user drawing air through the coil, the coil creates its own "pressure" by vaporizing the liquid.

I'm just curious. I'm going to pick up an igo-l tonight and try it out. I feel my trident may be a little too cramped for a single coil build. Especially when I'm a noob to micro coils.

Lot of room in the Trident to work with.
