Just finished this for the people that I joined with on a group buy of the Rocket rba. Believe this is the same way Cyrus does his, at least its my interoperation of our vape effort. Figured since I went to all the effort to figure how to post this, I'd share it with the group that inspired the creation of the Volcanic Dragon Vertical Build. If you figure out a better way or an improvement let us know. Thanks again Iteo, Cyrus and Jeremy and all the other dragon slayers.
this is shot of my vertical mounted coil:
I use needle nose tweezers to bend the wire legs.
Coil Hot:
this is the fluffy cotton used for wick:
this is cotton rolled for wicking:
threading cotton between long leg lead and coil
view from the other side:
wrapping around the coil and around the long leg:
totally wrapped, ready to trim:
all trimmed and ready for sleeve and juice:
Containment ring installed ready to saturate:
Wick saturated ready to test fire:
There she blows:
Note that the top hole and bottom hole of the coil are not covered allowing air to rush through the middle producing good vape. Also to much cotton and it will over wick and fill the whole chamber with juice, to little cotton and she's a bit warm, get pre-burned taste similar to what you get before she's totally dry. Just right and this baby wicks like crazy, can cook it at 15 watts for very juicy thick vape, and not to hot, just nice and warm. Of course depending on the flavor sometimes is bring it down to 14.5 watts to find it's sweet spot. I now have 3 tanks set up with the Volcanic Dragon Build, 1 Russian and 2 rockets. My last 2 builds used 28awg with 10 wraps around a medium large paper clip measuring 1.8+1.9 ohms. Can crank them up to just over 15.2 watts before my Provari gives me an E2 error. Fraking awesome Vape.!!!
