Good night with a yellow rose.

Tutoring is going fine, though I still am not tutoring the original kids, just the 2 new boys. I hear the orig. boy now has an ear infection, probably a complication from the tonsillectomy.

The older new boy has me busy finding out about fancy, expensive sports cars, and now a fancy, expensive motorcycle, a Ducati. I find this kind of thing extremely boring, but I persevere, since he'll be more interested in reading what he wants to find out about.

Last time, I don't remember how it came up, the younger new boy asked me about Jesus, and somehow, I got trying to explain the trinity. Whew! Right after that, I was reading Longfellow's poems (thanks, Jerry, I'm still at it), and he said it was like rain, hail, and snow. All the same thing, just different ways of it being. But the subject didn't come up today, so I guess it's too late to use Longfellow.

Morning Volties! Coffee is on the motel I'm at. :p Bf woke me up at the .... crack of dawn thinking I had to call the realtor soon but he forgot that we are 1 hr ahead of him. Ugh!

Rave's BF's birthday is today. It's to bad he's having to spend it worrying about surgery tomorrow. Good thing Rave is there to take his mind off of it.

Yesterday's drive west into the sun wasn't too bad. It was still hot, 81 degrees but BF put some reflective film on my side of the windshield and that helped a lot. We think it's going to be storm free today but it has been looking pretty nasty in western Washington (home).

I hope everyone has a great and cool day. :)

I got a beautiful surprise gift from Rave when I got there. It was a framed original painting of a bird with a blue head on a warbed wire fence post plus a print of the same painting with a certificate of authenticity to prove the original is an original in case I want to insure it. Plus she wrote, signed and laminated something very nice on the back of the original. It almost made me cry. Thanks again Rave for about the 4th time. :)

Terry - I hope you are having a better trip home than you did driving to Indiana:)

I need that coffee this morning!

A few chores and then the couch for me. I got my box of irrigation parts and will see if I can get one or two zones on the new timers.

Looks like the plant is going to go to 12 hour days. That is going to suck. Those are some long days for Hubby and he has to drive over an hour each way to work. We'll know more later in the month.

That is so super special, Terry. I would have almost cried, too:)

Lizzie, (busy should have been your dwarf name) I hope your arms are better, you are jumping right back in! Mr. Q sometimes works 12 hr shifts, not as many as he used to. It's good for extra cash, but it doesn't leave much time for anything else.

Celtic, I'm glad you are home again, what a good daughter/granddaughter you are!

Rave and Terry, It's just wonderful to read about the friendship that you two have. Go ahead and cry, aww, I would.

The forecast is saying a high of 73° and mostly sunny, so of course there are huge dark clouds overhead. But it is comfortable out there, so it's going to be outdoor chores for me too. Nothing interesting, mowing and pulling the little bunches of weeds from the mulch, we have a chipmunk that has been busy burying birdseed.

Have a great day Volties!

I hope Penny is ok. Maybe she's just sluggish from less exercise then she was getting before you got sick.

We are about half way across South Dakota. We had to get a motel again because the wind was blowing too hard to set up the tent. Temp is 91, wind 25 with gusts to 40mph. We dodged several storms along the way but it was muggy and hot in the afternoon. This morning was great with clouds keeping it cool. We're taking the northern route back, I90, hoping it will be cooler. The car started over heating again in this heat but we made it to a motel before it exploded. :p

No news from Rave yet but it was her BF's birthday so no surprise there. :) I hope everyone will send good vibs for him tomorrow.

It is rare to have a friendship like Rave and I have. We clicked 3 yrs ago without ever meeting and now our friendship is even closer, like sisters. I have 2 sisters and they don't understand me like Rave does and i understand her. I'm fortunate to have 2 close friendships but I don't see or hear from the other very often but we are still close. It will be nice to have a friend close by to hang out with or just to talk to and god knows we can yak. LOL!

Thanks Lizzie. So far so good.

12 hr days suck. I sure hope hubby doesn't have to do that.

Good morning, Voltnics.

SandySu - Maybe Penny was hot? How warm was it? The color on that rose is fantastic.

Hi, Jer. What have yo ubeen up to.

Q - Nice to hear from you. How did the chores go yesterday?

Raven - Thinking about your BF and hoping his surgery goes well.

Celt - Are you getting settled in after being gone so long to take care of Gramma?

I have a house to clean to day and then I am coming home and collapsing on the couch. I got the timers set up for three zones but it was at a huge cost to my tiredness factor:)

MIL gave me two giant boxes of peaches and I didn't work on them yesterday. I hope they will hang in there until tomorrow. That was a lot of peaches so it doesn't really bother me if a few go bad. Hubby doesn't like them. I need to pit, peel, sugar and freeze them. It's a lot of work and really messy.

Lizzie, I doubt it was the heat. It was cooler yesterday than it's been with highs in the mid-70s. She seemed OK, a good appetite for grass, but she just didn't want to move forward like she usually does. I had to sort of drag her when I led her instead of her walking alongside me. Then, on the trail, she was poky on the way out, which is usual, but she was just as slow on the way home, which is not usual.

They changed her pasture situation recently so I don't have to contend with Jasper to get Penny, and she seems happy with the new setup, but maybe that had something to do with it. It's always such a guessing game!

Terry - I'm glad that you're progressing well and not too terribly hot even though the radiator may not agree. You are more than welcome for "Bluebird & Barbed Wire." (((HUGS)))

Sure hope that Penny is okay, Sandy. But y'know ... sometimes we all just have an off day. Beautiful rose, BTW.

Lizzie - sure hope that you recover from that mega-cleaning job soon.

Forgive me if I've lapsed and not responded to something. My BF went into surgery at 10 a.m. and I'm worried spitless, sleep-deprived, nic-deprived, and in need of coffee and probably chocolate just because. I'll check back in when he's moved from Surgery to Recovery.
