Dang! That was fast!! The surgeon just came to the waiting room to talk to me. They removed any questionable masses. NONE had invaded bone. :D The masses will be sent to Pathology for evaluation. He doesn't even see any reason for my BF to spend the night for observation. Guess he is in Recovery now.

Okay - I'm feeling much, much better about this. However, the chocolate is history. :p

I took a drive this evening with my camera. I had no particular destination in mind, so I just let my instincts guide me. I found myself down by Cayuga Lake at Sheldrake Point. There are some lovely homes along there, and among them is my favorite boathouse. Here's a picture of it I took a while ago.

But before I got that far, I stopped to take pictures and spotted this blue heron on a dock.

So when I got to the favorite boathouse, and I saw another heron, I stopped for a photo.

A man emerged from the boathouse and said, "You like my plastic heron?" Only then did I realize it was a fake, and I began to wonder if the first heron was, too. The man said he got the fake heron to scare away seagulls, which poop all over, but it didn't work very well.

So then he invited me into the boathouse, and since I have a minor love affair with it, I was thrilled to see the inside. He introduced me to his wife, Sandy, and she and I chatted. I told her how I have always loved that boathouse. Then the man told me its story. Down the road a ways is a bigger boathouse, and someone named George Westinghouse (brother, I think, to the one of electrical fame) had that built and this one was moved from its spot and floated down the lake to its new home where it now sits. I think George gave it to the owners of the house back then.

Sandy told me about how she wanted their house, and how certain relatives were offered it and had refused, and then she decided to hunt down the owners and they were willing to sell. It's like the house was destined to be hers. Way before she bought the house, when she used to drive by it, she'd say, "There's my house!"

Then an osprey decided to dive for fish close by, and I got a sequence of him catching a fish. The husband said they are the only bird that grabs the fish with their feet, not their beak.

Last, they told me the sad tale of blue-green algae, which has clotted the lakeshore. It apparently is poisonous and will cause a skin rash if you come in contact with it. It has only grown there in the last 2 years. Before that, the water was clear. They think it's from a cattle farm up the hill, all the manure and fertilizer that has washed down through the soil into the lake.

How many incisions?

They removed three tumors. Didn't see any others. The third one looked really small on the surface, but he thinks that they dug all the way to China because that's the one that hurts the most. The site that had the tumor that they already knew was cancerous and was already mostly removed hardly bugs him at all. The largest tumor site he can't even feel. However - every muscle in his body is aching badly and he's having trouble walking around. I'm not allowed to remove and replace the bandages until tomorrow.

AHHH. Suffering from a major and sudden change in body chemistry. Just remind him that is a good sign. Hope the symptoms go away quick. Remind him that you went through that when you had your son.

BF is resting and doing well, but feels a bit like a chunk of meat on a deli-slicer.

WELL - Hopefully he doesn't look like "Sliced-Meat" . . . ;)

We wouldn't want "Lady Ga Ga" to get any ideas on "Your" man . . .

GAGA.jpg

Now - More importantly, really glad to read everything went well for both of "You" so far . . . :D
AND - ALL'S GOOD . . .

Remind him that you went through that when you had your son.

Funny "You" should say that . . . When I "worked" in a woman's health clinic - I use to tell Women, whose partners refused to wear protection to avoid getting pregnant, to make sure they take the man into the "Birthing" room and instead of holding their hands as they push - that should hold onto that other area instead, especially to let them know EXACTLY what it is like to give birth . . . Well a few women came back and told "Me" they did and let's just say the men wear protection now with NO ARGUMENT . . . Just Sayin' . . .

Good evening, Voltvillians.

I have peeled and frozen 5 quarts of peaches and 7 bags of strawberries for smoothies. We picked Armenian cukes, strawberries, assorted summer squash and tomatoes today.

Believe it or not, I still have peaches left to work on tomorrow. I'm going to have Hubby help me make peach jam.

We had large salads with store bought lettuce and the proceeds of our garden. Topped with ham, turkey and roast beef and three kinds of cheese, croutons and bacon bits. Some toasted bread with our very own elephant garlic rubbed into the toasted side finished off the meal. This is when you love having a garden. When meals are this fresh and this tastey.

SandySu - I really enjoyed your true story of the boat house and the lake. The osprey photos and the info on how they fish were amazing. The blue heron is my favorite bird.

Raven, hope the BF is feeling a little better.

Cindycated - How is your home improvement going?

Q - Did you get your list done from the other day of all things to do outside?

We had a beautiful cloudy morning followed by an incredible heat in the afternoon. 99 degrees for the high today. I hope everyone has a good evening:)

Cindycated - How is your home improvement going?

Very slowly. I have to stop a lot because I'm just really beat. Plus being with 4 guys just doesn't lend itself to eating right, and all my exercise equipment is at home (my real home), so my body just isn't working right. I think I was developing arthritis going in, and that's not helping much either. And I keep finding more things to fix as I go. Getting there though. ;)

So sitting here watching one of the Twilight flicks, thinking "OMG, that Bella's such a horny toad!"

Lizzie, I'm so jealous of your garden. That's exactly how I had hoped to live someday.
