Q - Did you get your list done from the other day of all things to do outside?

I did get most of it done, but have you noticed that when you are working on something, you just find 2 more things that need doing? No matter what I do, the list is always longer by the end of the day! It seems to take me longer to do things these days as well. When I think back on all the things I would accomplish in one day, when my boys were still growing up, I can hardly believe it!

lol sure enough identify with this statement.

Cindycated - Projects take time! I have a touch of arthritis, too:) It isn't helping me work any faster.

Terry - I was wondering how you were doing. Glad you made it home. Travelling in the heat is rough.

Good morning, Voltpeeps.

Sitting down, facing forward.
Terry, I'm glad you made it home in one piece and didn't melt along the way. Now if the "fairy god mother" department at the lenders is diligent, you will need to make one more trip. Here's hoping that trip gets made!

Q, projects and co-ops seem to be a never ending thing. Every time I do one thing here it leads to another and another and another add nauseum.

We have had beautiful weekends here since the middle of May. Nice sun, bright skies, nice temperature and low humidity. The spell seems to be broken though. I woke up at 04:30 to the sound of thunder and it rained on and off during the day yesterday as well. It is supposed to get nice again by Tuesday and here's hoping.

Bo is going in for some minor surgery Monday on his left hind foot, growth/infection between the toes that antibiotics won't clear, and a minor growth on the side of his right hind knee. I built a step for him so he can get into and out of the Jeep a little easier, I sure can't pick him up and put him in. He's going to have to wear a cone to keep him from licking, so we've got to get all the breakables up and off the coffee tables and such for the duration.

Orange daylilies are so common, but the double ones are spectacular!!

Agreed!! I've never seen a double before. Gorgeous!

That's the way it always seems to work. And yeah - How on earth did I manage to work full time as a single mother back in the day and still keep a relatively clean home? Dunno how I did that, but I sure can't keep up that pace now.

We're back but too pooped to post. We drove about 16 hrs today in blazing heat. Did I mention that I hate to travel? :glare:

16 hours in one day?! Dang! I'm so glad that you made it home though. It'll all be worth it in the long run. 'Tis a beautiful home. Just sayin'.

***************

BF is feeling worse rather than better. :( Yesterday he felt obligated to go to a family reunion of sorts back home. When he returned last evening he was sooo stiff and sore in his legs that he could hardly move around even though he sat rather than stood while there. The only thing that he can figure is that the compression thingers that they had on his legs during the surgery have messed him up. He has far fewer veins and arteries in his legs and no tibia in a lower leg because of a head-on collision with a semi. He was just pieced back together so that he'd make a good-looking corpse because they had no hope of him surviving that accident. When they finally realized that he'd no intention of dying, they went back in and fixed things as well as they could with lots of artificial parts. They moved the tibia up to his thigh because the existing bone was completely shattered. He's like a real life Six Million Dollar Man without the bells and whistles. Frankenstein's monster probably had less scar tissue and fewer metal parts.

Anyhow - he's now understanding why they gave him so many of House's favorite pain killer. Unless he feels significantly better today, I'm thinking that I'm going to encourage him to stay right here and skip work tomorrow. I don't want him driving on those pain killers and he has employees that can take care of things if he misses work.

Hey Volties!

I was surprised to hear that Rave's BF was feeling worse today. :( Last night when I talked to her he was feeling ok. Hopefully when the bandages are changed he'll start to feel better again.

Still no new news on the house. Still waiting to hear about FHA down payment assistant. That's all that's holding me up now. The next problem will be how to move my stuff, car and motorcycle. I have some research to do on that. :?:

The strain of this trip has really takin it's toll on me and my BF's relationship. I'm use to living alone so having to spend 15 days, 24/7 with him has me stretched pretty thin. I have so much to do now that I'm back that I probably won't be posting much but I'll be lucking off and on.

Rave was a perfect host as usual this visit even with both BF's there, the 2 kids and the stress of her BF's surgery. We left a couple days before his surgery so that helped some. Hopefully she will have this week to regroup. I need to regroup too.

Thanks for everything Rave. :)

Absolutely beautiful, SandySu.

Well, 2 more quarts of peaches frozen, 10 bags of purple/wax beans blanched and frozen for Chinese stir fry this winter. About ten bags of zukes/yellow crooknecks blanched and frozen. Those will be good in the stir fry, too.

hot but cloudy today. Weird to have so many cloudy days but I like it.

Terry - Hope you are starting to recover from your trip back east.

Raven - Hope the BF is starting to recover from his surgery. Poor thing.

I have a house to clean today with a few errands to run.

Little Penny Poo Poo chewed the connector on the tablet USB charging cord. She really likes metal so every so often she will have a screw or some such and this time it was my cord. I ordered a new one but of course it will be a few days before it arrives. I am going to miss that tablet.

I signed up for a free trial of Amazon Kindle Unlimited. You can order a ton of books for free but the cost is $9.99 per month. There is a lot more good books available than the actual free books which are okay but not necessarily interesting. So far, I think it is worth the ten bucks.

Please give me a report on that. The e-book daily program shows up maybe one a week that is interesting to me and worth reading.

I just got two books by Philippa Carr, historical fiction, and I like her books.

Also, How Dogs Love Us.

I have a free books daily but most of the books do not interest me and a bunch of them aren''t free. At one or two or three dollars a pop it would add up to buy them. Also, if you like a series, you might get one book for free and the rest will cost you.

Let it sit for a month or so. Some take a while. Later, if they still don't gel, you can open them up and re-process with more pectin.

You ought to get hubby to make a dehydrator. It is silly to buy a dehydrator in your climate with all those trays and a heater. Dried fruit make pies and snacks, and don't take as much room to store. Ditto for vegetables-- just drop them into soups.
