Sitting down, facing forward.
Rave, as long as all you ended up with is a bad hair day it's not all that bad.

Terry, "bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do when they come for you?". Glad to hear the packing is basically done but having those little "unexpected" expenses is always a pain. Don't worry it'll all be over soon and you be lounging in your new digs.

Why is it the simple things always go wrong? The leak in the brake line on the Jeep was in a bad spot, about an inch from the fitting where it changes to flex hose to go to the axel. Rather than trying to get in there with a flaring tool and put in a coupling I made a saddle clamp and that worked really well, or at least seems to have solved the problem of the hole. It was a stone hit that finally let loose, I could feel the dent from where the stone or whatever hit the line. That part went pretty well, but when I went to bleed the brakes the bleed nipple on the right side snapped off, so now I have to put a new wheel cylinder in, then do some serious bleeding, and it's hotter than Hades out there and the humidity is up around 90%.

Well, you know, if something might go wrong it will. The heat is indeed a problem but i guess you have done worse things than that so i believe you are going to fix it. How much is the cost?

I Googled and found a picture of my style before the ruthless assault on my hair. Then I priced out perms. $115 for a perm?!?!? :censored: I don't think so! Soooo ... as per my usual m.o., I decided to do it myself having never undertaken such a delicate procedure. I researched and found what should have been the right size perm rollers to return me to my sleek black waves. But ............ it didn't turn out that way. 8-o It's still very wet, but it's entirely possible that I'm now sporting a fro (a long one) like I wore in 1983. What the heck was I thinking?!
My hair was getting thinner, and long just doesn't work well anymore. After some debate, I got it cut to three inches all over. It curls naturally just fine, and I don't need to comb it anymore. The last time I got it cut, that was my complaint. It looked like a 'fro-- a bit too much for the no nonsense kind of look that I like.

I like the very short cut some Black women get that emphasizes head shape, but just a bit longer for (mostly grey) loose curls.

I bet with just a bit of adjustment it will look fine, Rave.

I kinda like bad boys.  ;)

Yeahhhh - they're nice until they aren't anymore.

Sorry, rave, but I LIKE the other two that you 'ed at. Plus it relaxes over time, so you'll probably end up with the first one anyway. :thumb:
So did you use your rayon to catch the drips?

 Nope didn't use the rayon for the drips. I'm thinking of stuffing a pillow with it. Good to know that it relaxes over time. I just conditioned the heck out of it and styled it. It's much more like the way that my hair normally should look pre-med damage.

Rave do you have naturally curly hair only it's texture is more course from the medicine?

My hair is naturally like the first picture right down to being wild and having a mind of its own. My medication actually bends and distorts the hair follicles so that my hair was growing out fuzzy. I didn't like it one bit. :glare:

Oh no - not a bad hair "day" - This would have been bad hair "weeks"!! But, I think it's bending to my will.

Thanks 0mg. I've thought of going short, but, I love having long hair, and always have. It frames my face better than short.

Here's what I ended up with after using Argan oil conditioning, which is pretty darned close to what I wanted in the first place.  :D

And I'm certain that the males in the thread are absolutely NOT fascinated with this subject. Sorry guys!

I got stood in the corner once for telling a girl friend it looked like she'd gotten a short in her vibrator. Misspent youth.

Naw, it doesn't bother me, Rave. What bothers me is that you think you are so hideous looking that you blacked out your face in that pic.

I don't think I'm hideous. It's just ... a gal has to have a little bit of mystery about her, y'know? ;)

Rave, it looks good!! You need lots of conditioner in it, especially the first month or so. One reason why I prefer chemical-free (and heat-free) hair. I intend on keeping it as healthy as it can be. The only thing special is purple shampoo, to get the color as sparkly as possible.

Got it! Lots of conditioner. I've been trying several types to try to tame my mane recently. A good friend just suggested another one that I'll have to order. But ... "purple shampoo" ?!?!?

Thanks Everyone. I was laughing my rear off when I first took it down because it was so spirally, but I think it'll look the way I want after it relaxes a bit. Even if it didn't I wouldn't take it all that seriously.

I was going to suggest putting argon oil in it for a leave in conditioner. The best hair treatment I've found is a Keratin conditioner called Proclaim strengthening Intensive hair masque at Sally's. A once a week treatment for normal hair but yours I'd use at least everyday and you can put some like a balm in your hand to use as a leave - in to tame it without being greasy. :)
