Hiya, Lis. I know, we have mellowed, but we have to be careful now, Classy may be looking for an excuse to ban us. LOL

Good morning, Voltpeeps!

It's a new day in Voltville:)

Raven, hope you are happier with your hair in a day or two.

Cindycated - You poor thing. All that work and now a hair disaster! Did you say that was a Victorian home?

Celt - We all need a break from yard work sometimes.

SandySu - How is Penny doing at her new home?

The two new dogs are doing great! There was the bacon incident recently. Hubby made me bacon but I was busy buzzing around getting stuff done. I cam back in the house and said "Where's my bacon?" Well, Sassy was in the house and my bacon was gone!

I had a phone call from my friend in California. Anyone still here?

Do tell! :D *Sorry I missed this last night. I was a little blown away*

Morning Lizzie. :)

Actually, I'm pretty darned happy with the hair this morning. When I woke up, it looked as if it had been just styled! I'm not gonna even touch it because I don't want for it to ever change.

So - are you sad that the growing season is virtually over? Or relieved? I know for a fact that you should be feeling mighty proud of your harvest!

Shame on Sassy for stealing your bacon!! :grr:

Good morning Tritium, Lizzie, Rave and all my other Voltpeeps, I hope you all have a glorious Wednesday. :)

Good morning back atcha, Evie. :)

********

The young folks livin' here have had to resort to wiring up the woods in order to get work done on their house. It's getting dark sooner now. They've also had to fight frequent rain and too many hours at their jobs. Last night, they were finally able to finish their base floor. Notice that they built steps leading up to it. Those are temporary so that they don't have to keep climbing up the side while carrying heavy lumber. I think that's my son's fiance at the far back corner in the orange shirt. That should give you a sense of scale. Yay for progress!! :D

Glad you like your hair today:)

Well, I'll still have work to do in the garden for another month. I've started garden clean up by feeding cuke and watermelon vines to the goats. They also eat the sunflower plants so I am cutting one down per meal and feeding them to the goats. They also like poplar leaves so I am pruning some of the trees back and feeding those to the goats. The big clumps of rice grass that are in the garden aisles also is being pulled out a few clumps at a time and the goats like to eat those, too. The lettuce has gone to seed and the I cute the seed tops off and leave them in the garden. Then the plant goes to the goats.

All of the corn stalks are gone. The goats love those:)

There are about 6 or 8 large watermelons out there waiting to be eaten. We are also still getting cantaloupes, haogen melons and such. The Lilly crenshaws are a slice of heaven on earth. I just picked three and it looks like we will get a few more.

I'm still getting Armenian cukes and tomatoes [two kinds].

I just froze 5 more bags of baby summer squash. Love the baby summer squashes!

I'm picking purple beans and wax beans today but they are definitely almost done.

Potatoes are still waiting to be stored and onions, too. It's a little hot to pull those items yet.

We have tons of butternut, acorn, kabashi and golden hubbard winter squashes out there. I think we are supposed to wait for a frost to pull those.

It looks like we won't be getting a frost for the next two weeks. That means plenty of eating left.

Good morning, Voltpeeps.

(((((Princess)))))

Raven, my friend in California is a guy, not a girl, we grew up together here in Rhode Island. He and his wife (my friend who died from cancer 5 years ago) moved to Southern California, about 20 years ago, but we stayed in touch. When his wife was alive, they kept two homes, one here and one out there.

Good morning, Evie and Jer.

I really don't feel like gardening today. Maybe I'll pick stuff tomorrow or this evening.

I got some new pots and pans. Some of the old ones were looking pretty rough and the new pots and pans are really nice for the cheapie price. However, I then decided I couldn't part with the super large skillet, the large stock pot and the cute little saucepan and the medium large pot that has a steamer from the old set.

That means I ended up rearranging most of the bottom cabinets in the kitchen:) I got rid of the electric can opener. I never use it and we don't eat much canned food. I also got rid of a couple of old rusty graters. I bought new ones long ago because I didn't want to use old rusty graters!

I did get rid of the two super ugly scratched up fry pans and the medium sized pot that was flaking paint from the old set:)

The new pots and pans are a bright red. I like them.

I have been looking and looking and looking for the assorted cup hooks and eyes that I bought. I had them before the BBQ and now I cannot find them anywhere!!!!! I really, really want those. I can picture the box in my mind but can't seem to picture where it was last or where it might be now.

"It's bacon!" Too funny Cindycated.

Colonial style. What time period was the house built in?

OMG, I found the cup hooks. I started thinking about where I last used the drill for a project. Then, I went in there to look. Yep, on the storage shelf in the far bathroom. Strangely, the Fiskars pruning shears I have been wondering about......... "What happened to those new pruning shears? Did they fall out of my pocket somewhere in the yard? I have to keep my eye out for those." .....anyway, strangely enough, the pruning shears were up there, too. I must have been multi-tasking.

Definitely a big ouch.

I just got new tires for the Toy 4 runner and Hubby needs tires on his little Honda Fit. At least those are little tires.

The really bad news is that the Honda is making a horrible squealing noise when the car is in motion. I mean really bad. Hubby drove it today despite the noise. I told him not too!!!!! He made it to work but I have a feeling we will end up at the dealership spending hundreds of dollars to repair it. Although, Hubby is still holding out hope that he can repair whatever it is himself. We shall see.

Hubby thinks it might be a wheel bearing.

Oh Lizzie, I hope he can fix it, the dealership is so expensive! He sounds like my hubby, I can fix it! Hand me a hammer, lol.

Hubby is pretty talented so he might be able to do this himself but this is a fairly new vehicle and they can be hard to work on.

I'm worried that whatever it is will seize up and then he will be getting a tow:) He is supposed to call me later after talking to some of his buddies at work that are knowledgeable about Hondas.
