Jeez I am hungry! I guess I should go fix me sumthin' to eat for breakfast. I know, its too late for it, but I can't eat first thing.... makes me sick.

I am back at my mom's, taking care of my Grandmother while mom and brother go on a cruise (it is his turn, I have already been on one). I am finally going to get my mvps!!!!! I am so excited! Fiance and I have been sharing a battery because all of them died.... now I have to wait til Friday when I get paid/home to order! I am going a whole week without vaping!

Edit: good grief! Autocorrect!!!!! Maps=mvps! Grr!

Goodness, a week without your PV. I'd probably go back to smoking. Not that I think you should do that you brave girl.

PM me. I PM'd you.

Tritium, I've recently gone back to a double edge razor. Merkur, and was using canned shaving cream. Then I decided to try Proraso in the tube, had to spring for a brush and a stand for the razor and brush. I like it a lot but now you've got me thinking about the Tabac. Any advantages or difference from the Poraso?

Indicentally, that belt was cheap enough but the freight almost tripled the price. I'll check at the local "Rambo Outfitters" and see if they have something close.

Your nearest hydrogen bomb.
Does anyone remember the after shave that drove woman to chase that hunky guy wherever he went in town?

Eau de gasoline, that is manly. You hunky Greek, you, Trit:)
Gee Lizzie, a shopping spree, i hope you enjoy them :) I like gloves.
I only remember Terry crews on old spice commercials :D :D
I washed my self with engine cleaner and a pressure washer :D

Hey Roland :) I switched to this (Edwin Jagger DE89BA11BL) I don't know much about DE razors but i think these ones are Merkur copies but they chromed the whole razor. I got 100 Astra blades and 100 Personna blades from ebay dirt cheap and i never bought anything shaving related for a year. Really a good moneysaver. (Feather blades are the sharpest in the world but too sharp for me)
I have soaps from Proraso, Tabac and Cella (cella has a strong bitter almond and cherry smell, very nice). I also have proraso preshave and tube. Tubes seem to be slightly inferior to soaps since they contain more and different chemicals to retain their softness. Soaps are cheap anyway/ Tabac has a unique smell and one of the best lathers out there, razors slip on skin like ice skating, if you can find it just try it it has fanatics all over the world. Has a nice porcelan bowl and you just get refills IF you use it all. There are some on ebay i believe.
Cella has an amazing smell but it's sometimes tricky and needs a lot of work to apply, i don't use it much. Proraso is ideal for the price but it's a regular good soap, nice smell though.
One of the advantages of tabac is that it uses Tallow, it's made like the old traditional soaps and has a unique hydration to skin. It's also a hard soap and it lasts longer, proraso soap is soft like a cream and it gets consumed faster.

Here's the scent I really like on Bill.

I got the Merkur long handle and it looks very similar to yours except the handle is heavily knurled which I find a big advantage in avoiding knicks. I get very long life out of my blades. The secret, I think, is to dis-assemble and clean the razor, clean the blade and then dry the whole thing completely. I get about a month out of a blade that way (I'm cheap!).

When I got the first razor, a butterfly topped Parker, I bought a sample pack of blades, Wilkinson, Gillette, Astra, Feather, Derby and yadda yadda. The Astras are very nice but I found the best shave from the Feather. I ordered some Feather blades about a month ago and am still waiting for them, they're coming by sampan, with a pocket handkerchief for a sail, from Thailand. I hope they get here before I wear out my last Astra. The butterfly mechanism on the Parker was crap and it broke one day trying to tighten it enough to keep it from going loose. I was getting tons of nicks from it because the butterfly would loosen as I shaved which changed the blade angle, not a good thing, plus it let the blade move a tiny bit as I shaved. The Merkur is a traditional head and hold the blade very solidly, no more random nicks!

The Proraso tube cream does have a tendency to dry before finishing my shave which in turn clogs the razor with semi-dried shaving soap, so I've started doing half at a time. I hope the Tabac doesn't do that. The Proraso has a nice "barber shop" aroma which isn't bad at all.

I use witch haze for after shave and have lots of liquid styptic, just in case LOL.

(getting even for that hair conversation, ladies) LOL

Cool awsum! Feather is the definition of razors. I too after shaving clean it and dry it but i change blades in 3 weeks probably.
Dry lather might mean that it needs more water and a bit more work on creating the lather. Do you face lather or do you use a bowl?
Cella had the tendecy to dry out FAST but i figured it needed more water, when i tried it next time it worked perfectly without drying (i also worked it longer).

Usefull tip: When testing a motorcycle make sure you don't push the brakes hard. LOL
I was adjusting the carb and i thought "Hey! Let's go put some gas in it, it's almost empty" so i gathered up the bits and pieces and went to the local gas station. These days i was riding an old scooter from my boss which needs hard braking so i let my self go and was hard braking, didn't noticed that my tyres were dirty with OIL and cooling liquid..... In a fraction i was tasting asphalt LOL 8-o8-o and was like :blink:w00t happened? Speed was low like 18-20mph Got up, did fast damage control and gathered up 2-3 screws lol. Right hand slightly red on the elbow (it's not road rash, looks like a hit) and my right leg hurts a bit but no real damage done. Infact it hurts more seeing the two new scratches i made on the plastics :(

Nah don't worry, damn Greeks don't die easy!
There are some cables and wires inside my leg and shoulder which hurt a bit but this is probably from the stress, it will go away probably soon.
Good thing i ALWAYS wear a helmet, has no scratch on it pff.

I love the smell of cooling liquid and gasoline in the morning....

Twilight Zone
Good morning Voltians. Hope everybody is having a great Saturday. I'm going to make it a lazy one.

I've never been able to successfully shave with an electric razor. Beard too tough and dark. I bought a cheap travel razor a few months ago to keep my head shaved until my Bride's hair started growing back and tried it on my face just for giggles. I guess with age my beard has lightened and gotten less tough. I went out and bought a good Norelco that you just rinse under water when you're done. Williams Electric Shave lubricates my face and in just a few minutes I'm done with a clean and close shave and, without the rash they used to give me. Kept the travel razor for shaving at camp and in the car when the mood strikes me. Old dawg learned a new trick.

Glad you bounced rather than thudded! Gotta watch those brakes, especially after getting them back up to like new status!

My first motor vehicle was a Honda 50. One day I "scooted" through an intersection that had a railroad cutting through it diagonally at a very shallow angle. The front wheel dropped into the gap between the rail and the roadway pulling the bike toward the direction of the tracks, I muscled that out, recovered and then the back wheel dropped into that same gap. I ended up on the sidewalk with the bike, screaming at full throttle, at the curb. A bunch of guys came running over from the firehouse/police station across the street trying to check me out. A little road rash on one forearm, a few scuffs on the bike and some shredded shirt and jeans but nothing serious. No helmets back then either.

I do face lather, spend some time at that, and use a fair amount of water, almost to the point of soap from running off the razor. Maybe I spend too much time making sure what I just shaved is really smooth in all directions.

Well, try to work it more on the face, it will probably need more water after working it. That's another problem with creams we use more than needed.
You use badger brush? Mine is made of boar .... hairs or something, stiffer brush, Badgers do make the best lather especially the silver tip ones. But they are expensive (some cheap ones on ebay) but expect at least 30-50$ for a silvertip. Boar is cheap, i got a high class for 15$

I bought an Escali badger brush. It seems a nice compromise between stiff and soft. It does a nice job and cleans up very easily. You know, when I started shaving safety razors were the only thing available other than "buzzing" electrics. The I got a Norelco RotoTrak and used that from about 25 until the triple track stuff came out. Then I alternated between the two until I got tired of paying two or three bucks a blade for the Mach3 blades that only last a week, at best. When I shaved with a safety razor I never used a brush and soap, just canned shaving cream. I wish I had known what a great shave a brush and soap can give, I never would have fooled with anything else, although the RotoTrak in the shower does a fairly good job but nowhere nearly as good as a blade.

The photo is 53 acorn squash from the Table Ace section.

28 Jet Acorn squash, 15 butternut and ten golden hubbards picked and airing out in the hay shed, as well. What a haul this morning!

We have some left to pick later in the week plus it is time to start thinking about digging up onions and potatoes.
