Staying here right now is pretty much all I can do. We don't got anywhere else to go. I just spent the last month straightening out my soon-to-be Father-in-law's checkbook. I had to take it over as my Fiance's sister screwed it up...(i.e. not writing anything down since november 11) He had checks bouncing all over the place. So she has to find a new place to live as Soon to be F.I.L kicked her and her husband and two sons out.(Long story!) I'd rather hear the cows and smell their poo than have to put up with her drama. (plus cows smell better than the chicken poo they spread over the field in front of the house.) I will just miss the trees on that side but I have the left side to enjoy so I am very thankful for that.
I will get some pics of the destruction soon. Anyone got any good Ideas for soothing music? I.e. Rainforest sounds or just soothing instrumentals?[/QUOTE]
Amazon Apps has several free ones and some paid for under $2. You can "test drive" them before you download most of them. I bought one named "Sleepy Tyme" for like $1.49 on my Kindle account and downloaded it to my phone and tablet. It's a sound effects like rain and ocean, trains, traffic etc. and you can blend up to three different sounds to get what you want. Then you set it to play however many hours you want if you're using it to get to sleep. Most rain sound programs just sound like static but when you blend other sounds with them they get pretty cool. I'm using a low beach sound for wind effect, rain on a tent or tin roof for the drops, and a low volume fountain for actual water runoff. You can set the volume on each individually. Fun to play with. Works with smart phones, tablets or puters. There are also a lot of meditation music and sound ones, most of them free or very inexpensive. Amazon is my friend.

Lizzie, What in the world is a "hula hoe"?
Rave!!!! I am soo sorry about your wrist.I hope it gets well very soon.
Sandy, those pictures were gorgeous! What kind of camera do you use? I know its not just about the camera but mine is a 20$ cheapo camera from wally world. I have been looking at some Sony cameras, especially the Handicam. I need one with a rechargeable battery pack. I really hate buying batteries for my cam. They are so expensive and I won't use anything but duracell.
So sad story of the week. The guy who bought the 24 acres next us is cutting down all the trees to make a pasture. Our trail is gone and when I look to the right of the house and to the rear of the house I don't see hardly any trees. There are gonna be COWS next to us! With a barbed wire fence! I won't be able to let my little bruno run around now and I'm gonna need to spend 20 bucks that I don't have to buy a new harness and leash.
I miss my woods!
I told my fiance that when we get our own place, It HAS to be a minimum of 20 acres! I need trees dangit!![]()
Chicken poo and cow crap....yum.I'd rather smell horse poo any day.
Google Forest Rain Sounds. I got a bunch of hits but I can't copy and paste on my iPad.
Sure wish ECF would get this next unread thing fixed. I've all but stopped reading over here. Takes way too much time to figure out where to start back reading and a post takes me back to page 1. Laterzz ya'll.
Rave, I was betting with myself that it would be you who would know about the duck. I've never seen them here before. I guess I don't go down to the lake often in winter, but I have walked on the shore in winter before, and I've never seen them.
I was pretty sure that was a muskrat. He was am amazing swimmer. I followed his route for quite a while. Sometimes he dived under the water, and I lost him, but then he'd resurface, and I'd see him again. I think I must have followed along with him for about 1/4 mile before he disappeared, and I didn't see him again. He was swimming near where the ducks were gathered, so maybe there was some food source in that area. Why else would he occasionally dive? But he was definitely swimming as if he had a destination in mind, and the ducks were just floating as if they were just hanging out together.

It's alright I guess. The 20 acres is probably a pipe dream anyways. I'm probably more sad and cranky cause I'm losing sleep over the dang saws and tractors. Not to mention the horrible CCRRAACCKK and death screech of the trees.![]()

Hi Wuzz - I'm still looking for a medittion tape. One of those ones "You are on a blue lake, in the warm sunshine..." something like that. I'll have to look into your Amazon idea for soothing sounds
How are you and your wife?
Good morning peeps. Just at freezing here and the sun isn't up yet. I have lots to do but not much motivation. Need to finish my coffee.
See there is a pasture across from us and just down the road on each side are pastures. I live in cow country. There are several packs of coyotes and wild dogs(mixed with coyotes) that harass the cows. We have maybe 8 or 9 packs surrounding our house. The reason I know there are dog and coyote mixes running around is one of our huskies had a litter of pups and of the 2 that survived one was given away to a neighbor. She ran of and got pregnant with a coyote and took the pups to be raised with their pack. We see them across the road at night. Thanks everyone for your condolences One thing that makes it better is that it's cow and not people moving next door (field?). I'd rather it be animals than people. Course I am waiting till they get the cow and all of our coyotes return. That will be fun.See there is a pasture across from us and just down the road on each side are pastures. I live in cow country. Yeah until all of our other dogs start howling and barking... Has anyone heard a chihuahua howl? Hilarious![]()
That would be scary, because chihuahuas think they are ten times the size they are, and they move so fast. Cesar says people are so enchanted by their size that they fail to teach them who is boss. In fact, maybe some of those dogs were discarded because they were disciplinary failures.Talk about chihuahuas, how about this? Really? Wild Pack Of Chihuahuas Terrorize Phoenix, Arizona
