Good morning, Voltpeeps.

Today is the day for Terry to sign. Terry, let us know when you are leaving to sign the paperwork!!!!

I got my shrubs transplanted yesterday and will be getting my irrigation tubing tonight. I did forget to order the figure eights that close the ends of the tubing so I will set up the irrigation and then have to wait to receive my extra parts in the snail mail. Darn, I forget something every time I order from them.

Your nearest hydrogen bomb.
0mg the science experiments going on ISS are much likely to cure diseases like that, many experiments taking place including cancer, diabetes, the other thing that affects bones, multiple sclerosis etc. So no worries, ebola will be cured too since companies WANT to make money out of this (it's already a race between companies and countries).

Sitting down, facing forward.
Maybe they could have spent the money they used to study a whole bunch of useless, stupid, idiotic things like shrimp on a treadmill, and a multitude of others, on ebola research. At least the space program, such as it is right now, does produce some useful and productive research including disease research.

That rocket had Russian built engines in the first stage by the way. What was Steve Bushemi's line "250,000 moving parts assembled by the lowest bidder."?

Well.
I have an explanation.... Poor but anyway.

Don't give the Amerikanski Russian engines.

Those engines are russian built from the 60's, they are NK-33 Engines which are MODified and called Aerojet AJ-26... And you know what modifications mean.

They are actually closed loop engines meaning the turbopump used to thrust fuel into the chamber consumes fuel, the exhaust of the turbopump goes INTO the chamber which gives the rocket additional thrust and cleaner burning. This also means it's much more likely to blow up (in the past american experiments failed again and again) but the russians perfected the engines and metals used (because oxygen corrodes metals). The RD-180 engine from the russians is one of the best rocket engines, consumes little, high power and reliable. They are used in US rockets today.

American engines usually were open loop meaning the exhaust of the turbopump got lost during firing so less power and not so clean burn but more reliable.

Orbital sciences has almost 0 experience on those russian engines, probably sooner or later it was going to happen.

Spacex on the other hand has their OWN developed Merlin engines which are quite good.

No way, i'm just a noob reading stuff on the net.

I wanted to buy an engine, was going to build a rocket powered lawn mower. Didn't worked so well :D :D

Anyway seems like spaceX is way ahead and they even have rockets that launch and LAND vertically. No need to search the oceans.

I miss the shuttle, it had the cleanest engines producing WATER on the output. They also had problems with the heat generated on the cone of the rocket engine, solved by a russian idea, putting fuel pass through it and it cools the exhaust port which also preheated the fuel.

I was looking over my irrigation supplies and darned if I didn't totally forget to order 1/2 inch tubing on top of the little things. I got my second order in now. I won't get that order until tomorrow night so I'll be working on this over the weekend. Oh well, at least I will have this front zone straightened out for another nine years:)

At least tomorrow I can set up the headers and the dripper tubing.

Looks like we are expecting rain on Saturday and it is going colder. I'll need to get the 1/2 inch tubing stretched out on Friday after I get home from cleaning a house while I still have warm sunshine to help me warm up the tubing.
