Good morning, Voltmaniacs.

I told you spring is headed your way, SandySu.

Raven - what a cool light thingey for the faucet. Such a good idea.

I have a cleaning job today. She is having a baby in a couple of weeks so she is canceling for awhile after today. I think she will get me back after the novelty of the baby wears off. The family isn't big on cleaning and she seems to do most of it. Or, maybe her mom will move in and that will be the end of it:)

She picked a perfect time to quit on me since I am busy trying to get far too many things done because it is spring.

moanin' Voltatics.

Rave, sorry you're having a "down time". Life seems to run in cycles like that so the bright side is things will be getting better soon. Plus spring is coming, supposedly.

It's snowing here. It started at about 8:30 and is sticking to the grassy surfaces and trees really well but the paved areas are just wet. It's 33 at the moment but it is supposed to drop as the day wears on. It is what it is, and this marks the equinox.

You've got to let everyone know how those melons turn out, Tritium. That was really record time for a package from here. Amazing!

Rve, a fun toy for everyone, but I know that you are very grateful!! Yes-- a sleepless night-- I broke my caffeine rule. :w00t:X:grr:

Good Morning Everyone!!!

Rave, that is a neat device (notice I did not say cool). Kind of would not mind having one myself. Sorry you are having rough days - this group is always here for you to talk it out and to cheer you up when you need it - you know that... ;)

Well, here's the link if either of you want one. They are cheap as dirt ... and built that way too. It's chromed plastic.

Hope that you are able to squeeze in a nap from your overly-caffeinated evening, Zero. yawn.gif

Semi - I know that this group is a wonderful assortment of great listeners. But - when I feel overly stimulated by having too many encroachments in my life, my natural tendency is to withdraw and go quiet.

Yay! I'm glad that you're going to get some time off from cleaning and be able to do the things that you want/need to get done for spring.

You're so right about life running in cycles. It may be a "down time" right now, but nothing keeps me down for long. On the bright side, the BF is coming to "rescue me" this evening. We're going to get last year's vegetation mowed down in the front yard-not to make way for the new growth of spring ... and hopefully for the many flowers that I planted. He's also going to replace the ballast in my front spot light (or farm lamp, as I call it). Hopefully, that will return the light that we need to make it to our vehicles or back to the house when it's dark. There are ... things ... out there that you don't want to surprise in the dark. Like skunks! Plus, I have a difficult time walking on ground that I can't feel if I can't even see it.

Good morning, everyone. It's the first day of spring, and it's snowing. It's not supposed to amount to more than an inch. Not unheard of here. We often get a little snow on the ground in April.

Sorry that you and Awsum are getting snow on the first day of spring. That's just RUDE! :glare:

Okay - this is way too cool: My daughter told me that she is going to be participating in an MS Walk in my honor in September. I signed up with the condition that I could "wobble" instead of "walk". Now Terry said that she'd like to do it with me! She'll probably walk though.

I just walked Bo and came back looking like a snowman. It's been snowing hard and steady since about ten this morning and we probably have three or four inches already. That's in spite of 35 degrees out there. The street is starting to cover with slush as well. Ahhhh, spring time is so wonderful, LOL.

You have more snow than we got. I went out this morning to do some errands and heard on the car radio that NYC is supposed to get up to 6". We only got slightly less than the promised 1" maximum. It's still snowing lightly, but unless it starts up again harder, I think that's all we'll get. The streets are wet, and the snow is very wet but not enough to be heavy shoveling.

I'll post a view from the front windows later to get the maximum effect of the snow sticking to the trees. It's still coming down hard and we're probably past five inches. At least it'll melt, probably by the end of the weekend. It's supposed to be in the mid 50's tomorrow but in the mean time Old Man Winter is having one last show. Mrs. Awsum got out of work early and said the highway, 206, was getting slushy so even the main roads are covering. Now wonder as heavily as it's snowing.

Your nearest hydrogen bomb.
Hey Awsum, there is a paper with instructions with the seeds, one part says that to check if the watermelon is ready to harvest you have to hear dirty harry (Clint Eastwood) from the insides.

1.The tendril nearest the point on the vide where fruit stem attaches is browning/dead.
2. The spot where the fruit rests on the ground is yellow.

3 The classic mystery "you hear PUNK" as opposed to "pink" or "pank" when you flick the melon with your fingers.

Pink, Pank, Punk! :D :D :D

Looking sort of northeast -

Mrs. Awsum and Bo. Looking north -

Note how far up Bo's legs the snow is.

No jealousy on my part about that snow! Bummer. That's what it did here. We had one big snow storm and I believe (and hope) that was winter's last hurrah. Luckily, it'll burn off quickly for you.

He is! He's got 40 or 50 pounds on her! Thankfully, he's well behaved.

Doesn't work out too well when a dog that big isn't.
