Those are some neat little critters Lizzie. Bet you're getting anxious. He/she should be pretty easy to work with coming from a happy puppyhood rather than some puppy mill. Careful breeding and a caring home make a lot of difference in a dog when they grow up.

Is that why my kitten, kiki, whom I got from a gutter in a section-8 housing project, at just 4 weeks old, is as wild as a raccoon? lol. my brother thinks he's got raccoon in him...

Those pups are adorable!! awwwz.

I'm sure I could.... but... Idk how we would attempt to do that... I'd have to have it towed to the body work shop, ask them where they want it... then they'd have to deal with fixing the body of a vehicle that won't move. Then I'd have to tow it back home. (or to a 2nd body shop, if both insurance companies make me use certain shops) and the bill to tow a vehicle aint cheap these days, it's 4 to 500 bucks. I DO have tow-insurance on it right now, so, i technically.. MIGHT... be-able.. to call my tow-insurance company up, tell them i broke down (in my yard, lol) and have them tow it to a body shop... But then there's still the question of whether a body shop will work on a vehicle that they can't move onto-and-off-of their electric lifts, and to-and-from the garage, into different worker's stalls, etc/etc... It'd certainly be a LOT of work and a big logistical headache... But, yeah, I've THOUGHT about it, lol.

Get three body work guys to come by the house, get separate estimates for each of the two damages, then tell the insurance companies you want the money and you will take care of it yourself after they pay up.

We did that with the Neon. Wasn't worth fixing the damage and we then had money towards a newer car.

Yeah, that is what I am hoping, Wuzz. A really nice puppy that will be a good fit for our five acres. We could have gotten a puppy from the pound or Craigslist but I wanted a dog that would for sure play toy and would be able to fit in and travel with us. I thought a good puppy from a good breeder was worth it.

I'll rescue more dogs in the future. We have three large rescue dogs now.

I can give that a shot... I'll have to talk to my madre about this. Thanks. I've heard of this, but, I also heard it's tough to get the damn insurance companies to comply & give ya $$. Idk, we'll give it a shot.

Just be nice, let them know your work hours vary a lot so you need to be able to do this on your own timeline.

Plumes, I had a Jaguar Mark X, many moons ago. Some ..... made a left turn in front of me and I drove off the road and into a parking lot to avoid him. He hit me anyway in the left rear quarter. I had a real battle with the insurance company, they kept telling me it was "depreciated" ('68 car in '76). So I stood my ground and told them if they could find depreciated original equipment parts that could be installed by a depreciated body shop and painted with depreciated paint, to match, I would settle for what they offered, otherwise see them in court.

It took about three months of phone calls and arguing, but I got the full amount and, in that case, had the car repaired at a shop that specialized in Jags and other foreign cars. I could have just cashed the check and kept the bucks, but I loved that Jag. Give it a try, it's well worth the effort if you want to get your Jeep fixed.

Lizzie, your puppy is definitely the cutest of the brood! I haven't forgotten that picture I promised you. Yesterday was kind of a vegetate on the couch day and I've been busy doing the stuff that got ignored yesterday, today.

If anyone wants to know what the weather is in the Jersey suburbs go to Weather Underground homepage and, at the top right search box, enter "KNJSOUTH36".

Yeah, it's working fine now. I did manage to reverse orient it when I moved it out away from the house. That's why the quick shift in wind direction, LOL. It's up to 68 here now, according to the local display anyway.

Hope you have a nice, warm, fire going, Lizzie! We're supposed to cool off overnight but warm up again on Tuesday. Weird winter, so far.

I had a feeling I was being watched, LOL.

It isn't much, but we like it. My biggest complaint is the crappy soil conditions. There used to be a railroad track that, if it were there now, would be just off the street on the lower front lawn. The result is the soil is loaded with coal and ballast dust. It was used, probably heavily, during WW2 moving troops and supplies in and out of Fort Dix.

Some houses have fenced in property. Most of the houses on our street have some sort of fencing, whether decorative or to keep critters in or out. We had the stockade fence along the back property line when we moved in. My neighbor, to the east, put a wire horse fence up to keep the previous residents here from "appropriating" things. I expanded that, and put in a gate for convenience, when we got Bo and fenced the west side and front. In fact I put a gate in the stockade fence and the west side fence when I installed that. It's handy to maintain the encroaching ivy, stickers and weeds.

By the way, why most houses in the states have no fence?
I don't know. If you ask, why do most houses in Greece have fences? My best guess is that we have lawns in the front yards, gardens in the back. Most houses which have gardens in front, usually flowers, do have fences. A lawn does not require a fence.

We have lawns from the inside and gardens etc.

Most houses here have a concrete or stone fence sometimes with added metal bars and lamps on top. A tank would have a hard time lol.
Remember that we have not had a war on our soil since the Civil war. Better-off homes neighboring blighted areas in the cities do tend to be fenced.

Maybe it's because we have a "more stable" political environment? Beats me but I would guess it's a result of historical invasions over the centuries that just hasn't happened here...yet. Most of the fences here, with a few exceptions, are quite flimsy compared to mortar or stone. Heck, even the White House, with iron fencing topped with spikes, gets breeched on a somewhat regular basis, much to the chagrin of the Secret Service.
