Yeah, we have low riders here, too. The funniest one I ever saw was in Guam. I was working in a facility that also had public spaces in it and there was a bank and a parking area under the second floor, kind of on the ground floor. The bank had a drive
through and there were speed bumps to make sure everyone behaved themselves, it was pretty tight in there. This "kid" came in with a low rider Civic, drove over the first speed bump and stopped halfway over it. The car wouldn't move any further. It was stuck with all four wheels just touching the ground.
Three people sat on the hood so he could pull off of the speed bump. Problem was, there were two more speed bumps to go over to get out of there. The look on his face when the car stopped was priceless. Wish I had had a camera with me.
The crosses on the side of the highway give me mixed feelings, especially when I know that the accident involved DUI. I like to remember the people I love in nicer circumstances than the accident that took their life.
I was hoping to do some more branch patrol today cutting down the dead stuff I can reach with a pole saw but the Township guys were out there at 6:30 chipping up the pile at the curb. My efforts yesterday included trimming all the low hanging stuff that I either had to duck under walking around or when on the tractor. That effort, more or less, doubled the original pile of stuff that came down from winds and storms.
