Good morning, Voltpeeps.

We got quite a bit done yesterday. Five bags of watermelon, 15 bags of San Juan melon and 6 bags of green beans in the freezer!!!!! Plus, we had a most delicious dinner of mixed green beans [yellow, and two kinds of gree] with bacon and large ears of corn with our round steak.

We got our shelves installed in the breezeway. A nice clean look compared to the mishmash of old tables and a bread rack we had there before. I'll have to get a photo:) We put up one high shelf so I could have my compost buckets out there and no one could reach them to tip them over. I re did the hanging baskets, as well. I use the baskets to pick veggies with. I moved them to the other side and used a tape measure to hang the hooks evenly. Looks professional:) The breezeway is much more organized and it is roomier.

We also put up a high shelf near the smoker so if we want to set something down that a dog would steal {like a steak or a roast:)] the dogs can't reach it!

I also got the trim pieces for the insets in the kitchen prepped. I stained the wood and then I sprayed some lacquer on them to make them easy to wipe down. We have to carefully measure and cut today. I got a brad nailer that Hubby and I are going to figure out how to use. Hopefully, done by noon:)

Good morning Volties, I hope everyone is having a happy Sunday!

I also want to give thanks to both Awsum and Cindy, I love using rayon wicks! (Especially Cindy, as she gave me a big bag of it!) I am still really bad at coils, but I've switched out the wick on several old T3s, luckily the coils were still good. Believe it or not, I was able to get the wick right on the my first try, amazing stuff! I used that one for over 3 weeks with Red Licorice juice, really sweet stuff. I could have kept going, it was not gunked up at all, but I just felt it was time to switch it out. I need to give myself permission to keep using them if they are still working, and forget about how long it's been!

Boy! Lizzie, you got a lot done yesterday. I'm impressed. I had a fairly productive day, too, but it pales in comparison to yours. I can't wait to see pictures of the improvements. Also, how about some of the horses? it's been a while since we saw them. How are they doing? Are you still driving? Taking lessons from that trainer?

Sandy, I think boston.com needs your editing skills, pronto! (third paragraph) No vaping liquid nitrogen, ok?

Logan Airport Wants to Crack Down on E-Cigarettes - Massachusetts news - Boston.com

Weird! I guess somehow the e-cig was activated and didn't turn off? How could it cause a fire?

As for proofreading/copy editing, there are lots of sites with many errors. I've given up being disturbed by it. Reporters get things wrong when they don't fully understand them more than you'd think. That is a really big error, though. You'd have thought the reporter would have taken notes and written down the substances in e-cigs!

So pretty sandysu.

I haven't heard from the trainer in two months. I'm inviting him to the BBQ. Hope he can come.

The horses are doing good. Nevada bit me when the farrier was working on his feet and he was bored. He didn't bite me hard but I smacked him on the nose anyway. Mostly, he has been a snuggle bunny.

Wise guy thinks he might be the boss now. At least he has been pushing Nevada off the feed dish.

Good morning, Jer, Evie, assorted Voltnics.

A few photos.

The Hubbard squashes are getting big this year!!!

I got bell peppers. Yay! I never get bell peppers. Must be getting more calcium built up in the soil especially since we put gypsum in this spring.

That's my thumb at the top of the frame. I think it is genetic since my grandmother always used to send photos and remark that she had gotten her thumb in one or more of the photos:) This is my large load of corn. Must be about 80 ears. That bread rack has been removed that is to the left and replaced by......

This neat and tidy row of hanging baskets and, on the other side of the breezeway.....

These very neat and tidy shelves. The shelf on the bottom is for setting things down to get in and out the door. The shelf on the top is for items we don't want the doggies to get like the goat bucket of veggies and the compost bucket. The shelf in the middle is for the wooden box of gardening gloves and the gardening tools crock.

So much roomier without the table and the bread rack for doing these duties and the one tacky shelf that the dogs could reach that was in the shelf area before. I was finding compost materials on the pavement way too many times:)

I think you can see an ashtray and a little .... bucket that I haven't needed in over a year. Someone might use them at the BBQ:)

We also put up a high shelf by the smoker [not pictured] so that we could keep our meats and sauces safe from the cute adorable wonderful but not able to resist messing with food new doggies.
