I did go out to take more photos. I decided on the east side of Seneca Lake, where all the wineries are. I stopped at one and got some wine. The grapes were growing in profusion, and the grape leaves were turning colors. In the vineyards up on the hill, they were mostly yellow, but down nearer the lake, some leaves were more reddish.

Awsome photo, SandySu. Love the hanging grapes.

Waiting for Hubby so I can make us cube steaks, fried potatoes with yesterday's left-over baked potatoes and fruit smoothies with our frozen melons and strawberries. Also, our frozen corn on the cob. Nom, nom!

I'm thinking I am going to get Wiseguy out to play in the cart tomorrow.

An early good-night photo, another shot from today. The Finger Lakes National Forest has the Hector Grazing Area in it, which is a place where farmers can take their cattle to be out on pasture all summer. Soon, they will round them up and take them back to their farms. Some go to slaughter. They often use horses for the roundups, and there have been cases of cattle rustlers, which sounds like the Old West, though we're East. Anyway, on my way to Seneca Lake, I drove over the backbone (the highest ridge between Cayuga and Seneca lakes), and near that area was this pasture.

Talk about a quiet day in Voltville!

I slept a little late, had a leisurely breakfast then went out and harvested the leave. It was very frustrating out there doing that since as I harvested, chopped them up with the mower, they were falling, fast and furious. due to the heavy breezes. It looked good when I got done, but by tomorrow I guess I could do it all again. What was that old song..."if I could do it all over again, I'd do it allover you"? #@&$^ leaves! Just to make it worse it's supposed to get really cool starting tomorrow.

I hope Tritium hasn't gone critical with CE3s, Protanks and rayon.

Yes, Awsum, it's sure was slow today. In fact, with nothing much happening, I think I'll sign off and offer another good-night picture early. This was taken in a section of the Finger Lakes National Forest that I never explored before. It's a little chunk off by itself on the shore of Seneca Lake. I just noticed some sort of tag in the photo (upper left area) that I didn't notice while I was there, taking the picture. I wonder what it is.

Maybe it's a mounting bracket for a sap line......

Slow day in Voltville but a busy enough day around here.

Hubby helped me [or should I say I helped Hubby] finish the goat shed winterization. I'm stoked that we are right on track for winterizing. I have a few things to do next week like picking up more hoses and getting two more timers off the irrigation lines. Oh, and some painting.

Little Wiseguy got to go to the round pen today so Nevada threw a fit. Whinnying and stomping:) I gave him some special treats like a scoop of alfalfa pellets and a little hay to let him know he gets something special when Wiseguy leaves the pen.

Great tree with golden leaves, SandySu.

Awsum - Keep after those leaves:) I don't have to rake leaves. They all blow away in our incredible winds!

What do you mean? Like getting maple syrup? It's sort of high up. I'm not sure I could have reached up and touched it.

Something along those lines. It's far too high for a spile for tapping a single tree but if they happen to tap a whole forest, they can run lines so individual trees are tapped and hoses connect the trees to the main line. I was thinking some kind of main line bracket. For that height, the tree would have to be lower than a lot of the forest though. Twas just a thought.

Good morning, folks. I'm up early because I planned to take the kids to see the horse again today, but it's cold and windy and threatening rain, so we canceled. I'll tutor them this afternoon, as usual. This gloomy weather is getting in the way of horse activities, but it'll get worse before it gets better, I know.

It's cool and windy here, too, Sandy. It was 51 when I got up at 6 and hasn't budged at all. It's supposed to stay like this all day, but we do have some sun through the clouds once in a while. Frost warnings for tonight though. Time to blow out the feed for the garden drip system.

Good morning, Votlpeeps,

Have some coffee, Anniversary Blend is in at Starbucks and it is delicious.

Looks like our weather is staying pretty nice for a couple of more weeks. It is getting colder overnight with a low of 38 degrees this morning. I think I will be able to paint on Wednesday, for sure, with a morning low of 42 predicted and an afternoon high of 76.

We are going fishing today. We need to get out and enjoy the fall.
