Game of Thrones. Is a good enough series to bother reading? What do you think, SandySu and Q?

The books are huge. I'm sure that's why it's taking the author so long to write the next one. Plus he may be tired of it all by now. I think I would be.

Lizzie, I think the books are amusing if you like fantasy, set in sort of a feudal society. There are dragons and such things. They are memorable enough that I started remembering details once I started thinking about them again. Lots of the books I have read for work are not worth reading. Every once in a while, I got a book that really resonated. These were somewhere in between, IMHO. They are very popular, and all those fans can't be wrong, can they? And I often have a different taste than the majority of people. For instance, there was a TV show, Saturday Night Live, that simply everyone adored. All except me. I thought it was stupid. Every once in a while, if I was watching it, I'd find something funny for a moment or 2, but in general, I couldn't understand what everyone thought was so great about that show. This happens to me a lot. So maybe I'm not a good person to ask about whether you'd like a series of books.

Yes, the books are huge! I love big, thick books that will take me more than a week to read. I feel cheated if I finish one too fast. Like Sandy said, they are wildly popular. I enjoyed reading them, but it will depend on what kind of books you like best. Maybe just get the first one in the series, it will keep you busy for a while, lol.

I googled, there are 2 more in the pipeline, just not released. Maybe they need you back Sandy, someone is taking a long time!! Looking at his website, I saw he is releasing a book on the 28th that relates to GoT, sort of a history/prequel. Hmm, I hope it's better than the Star Wars prequel.

What's a little minor surgery between friends? LOL Glad it was just under the top layer. As long as it wasn't treated lumber you're OK. I managed to nick the tip of my right thumb washing a pair of fancy kitchen scissors the other day. What a pain in the thumb! I'm right handed and keep seeping a little just from normal activity. A bandaid won't stay put because it's up in the center of the top pad and I'm always washing my hands.

I don't think even that would work through the full winter. It gets too cold at night and the sun is fairly low, even at noon. It would heat during the day, but without an auxiliary heat source for night time, dead or frozen dead whatevers.

I just went out and got propane for the little auxiliary heater we use. Then I hopped up on th roof, OK I cheated and used a ladder, and blew the leaves out of the gutters. We're supposed to get a 'noreaster tomorrow through Thursday.

You know the whole never run with scissors thing? Well I know from personal experience that its not a good idea. I was sent to fetch these old metal scissors that my mom used for all different things. I was in a hurry and ran through the house to give them to her, midway through the living room the scissors swung open and one of the blades pierced my pinkie right where the finger meets the hand. Not only that but it also pierced the little blue vein that runs through it. It bled like crazy but luckily we got it stopped so no ER visit for me. I still have the scar to prove it.

I find what works to keep the swelling down is to take a Benadryl pill right away. So far, so good. Let's see if I can get into my shoes tomorrow.

Also put an ice pack on it. I got stung again two weeks ago and all I had to do was put ice on it and antihistamine cream for the itching (I do recommend a name brand because the cheapo stuff doesn't work as well IMHO.)

Yeah - she's tough as nails. Definitely not a girly girl. Her back hurts, so I loaned her a back support brace that I used while I was on the road loading and unloading my booth stuff. That's helping.

Rebuilt the protank without touching the coil, i removed the fiberglass and did put some rayon on it.

Vaping at 5W with the vtr.
The fiberglass taste is gone for sure but i am not sure if there is something different. Maybe i have to try other e-liquids to see the difference

Meanwhile, I'm supposed to ride tonight with the boy who owns Jasmine. It's getting dark already, and it's chilly and has been sprinkling rain all day, off and on. I'm not looking forward to it, but I haven't been to see Penny in days. I wish we'd get some sun. I think I forgot what it looks like.

Welllll .... I had no concept of how many iris rhizomes were in that bucket. Lost count when I put the 60th one in the ground. Dunno if they'll grow or not, but irises are my favorite flower and they were free. I also installed 100 other bulbs. I'm partial to wild tulips as opposed to the domestic ones. So I put in 30 tulipa tarda and 10 Persian tulips, in addition to 30 dwarf irises and 40 squill - both siberica and puschkinia. I never want to plant another bulb as long as I live. Now both hands are killin' me. Do I hear violins playing for me in the background? Still feels great to be able to cross that task off of my list. It will be even nicer when the blooms greet me in the spring.

I read them, but just had real trouble with it. It is awfully bloody and rough. And those royal kids who were left on their own at the beginning, you never know what happened to them all in the end.

Just too rough for me. Reality is rough enough.

I'd rather not talk about it awsum because it gets my blood boiling all over again. It could be any day now but they've been saying that for a month. I don't want to jinx an already jinxed loan.

Games of Thrones series: Yes, they are rough, but I didn't mind. I was hired to read light porn sometimes, so this was a piece of cake. Besides, a primitive society like that would have been rough, so it was more realistic. The one part that I remember being uncomfortable with (but sad more than disgusted) is when the dragon girl (I forget her name) has to go off in the wilderness and tries to eat various things she finds, finding that most made her sick. It was really frustrating. I liked the part where she married the barbarian guy who was a horseman, though. If only they could have lived in peace, happily ever after, but not in that "rough" world. There were always wars and things to interfere with any lasting happiness.

Terry, I'm glad to see you back here, even if you don't have any good news. I was just wondering how you have been doing. Hang out with us and talk about books and TV shows. It may distract you, even if just for moments.
