Good morning, Voltpeeps,
I don't think I can comment on everyone's posts
Terry, loved your photos.
Uncle - I like to cook the beef New York loin roast at 350 for 20 minutes per pound. I put a little water in the bottom of the pan, some onions, carrots, potatoes [quartered] and some celery in the pan. Some
salt and pepper and a couple of bay leaves.
Simple but delicious. The first day we have potatoes and carrots and beef. The second day we have au jus French dip sandwiches using the broth from the bottom of the pan. My new gravy separator helps with that a lot. It separates the grease off the top of the
juice before I stow the broth in the fridge for the next day.
Tonight, I guess it will be sliced roast beast with pasta-roni and a veggie. The extra we will freeze up for sandwiches in Hubby's lunch.
Of course, the doggies get plenty of scraps for treats
It will be going cold according to the weather people Tuesday night and it will last for several days. Hate it!
Today is pretty nice with lots of sunshine but 17 degrees overnight.
I called about French doors. The guy says they have done mobile homes before, the doors would be fiberglass with double pane windows, the doors would be $800. Not the cheapest but certainly not the most expensive either. Of course, the cheapest ones at Home Depot were Masonite not fiberglass.
The install would be about $300 and the taking out of the old sliders and the trim would be about $300. We could probably do most of the work on taking out the old sliders and not have to pay for taking out the old sliders. They are still in holiday mode so they can call me and come out sometime in January.
It is a lot of money but sounds like about what I was expecting. Home Depot would do the install and removal for $445 but I have heard that you end up having very little recourse if the services are not to your satisfaction. I don't know for a fact but I have read that.
Home Depot said I could get doors for as little as $600, I think, or maybe even less but the cheaper doors are made of Masonite which isn't a good material. So, Home Depot would be $1045 or more and these guys would be $1400 or less. My client has heard that the door guys do a good job but he hasn't used the door guys himself.
It's a big decision and a lot of money. I'll know more when the company comes out to measure for the French doors.
