Muffin is so regal looking. It's because he is English, isn't it? :)

Probably, since he was treated like a "Prince" too . . . ;)

haha at first glance it looked like he was wearing a flannel shirt and holding a wooden box mod.
Gorgeous! I don't think I woulda been able to say no to that face either, allergies and all! :thumb:

Nope - Actually the Flannel is being worn by the EX . . . ;)
(Tried to cut out as much of him as I could . . . )

YEA - I have a lot allergies too, but Not Dogs . . . Now if it was Cats, I'd be . . .

So-- I have had headaches, neck hurts when I try range of motion. I just closed windows and turned on the air conditioner and air filter. And took some acetaminophen. My worst headaches are multiple-causation. I just checked the local pollen-count, It is low, mostly mulberry and oak, it rained last night. But the yard was overgrown, and they just mowed-- almost enough clumps of cut grass to rake it up for baling. Pollen count projected to be progressively higher through the week. May need to cut down on the vaping and increase fluids. Thinking of setting up some unflavored. What else to do about this?

@0mg . . .

First - I might suggest getting one of these outfits . . .

6a00d8341c68f553ef019b00da94c9970c-200pi

Next - I would suggest one of these . . .

astronomo-anima.gif

Lastly - Maybe moving here . . .

236x177_FF2.jpg

Now in all seriousness - At first "My" allergies to flora & fauna almost disappeared since moving to Florida, but still had problems with most scents, cats, horses, and especially dust/mold . . . The worse was when I went North to visit - all "My" allergies returned . . . Although after 12 years in Florida, I have started to have more problems when the pollen count is very high . . . AND - Like "You" when they are cutting grass and using a blower to cleanup the area here - all I can do is (if outside) go inside "My" apartment - (if I am already inside) make sure that all the Windows are closed, and since the AC is always on, put the ceiling fans on high, & turn-on or up the 3 air purifiers too . . .

However, when I get those same unbearable - MIGRAINE HEADACHES . . .
pain-pain-ache-headache-smiley-emoticon-000336-large.gif

I will take Tylenol Serve Sinus, Wrap "My" head with Gel Pack Ice (I have 8 of these: Walgreens Reusable Cold Pack | Walgreens {There are also others available too} . . . which comes with a protective cloth cover that has velcro attachments - so one is wropped on the front temples and then another on the nape), go into a darken room . . . AND - Usually, within an hour or so the sinuses will finally drain and the pain will subside, well as long as I stay inside until everything settles down . . .

Now although - YMMV - I just hope that what works for "Me" will also work for "YOU" too . . . Just Sayin' . . .:D

Yeah. It is in the air this time of the year. Allergic sensitivities tend to go away when people move to a new area-- but then after a few years, new allergies develop. Doctor once told me that with allergies, anything in the air will aggravate when the allergen is present.

I am wondering if my insurance covers chiro. I also need to address that part of the problem.

I usually use heat for the sinuses.

YEP - "Doctor" is correct . . . As for Insurance coverage - Don't know, some will . . .

Now - Yes I will use heat sometimes too, along with a humidifier - however I have found the "Ice" packs a GREAT HELP ! ! !

BTW: Have Ya' ever tried doing a little "Sinus Pressure Point" therapy on yourself . . .

There is a basic "How To" section . . . "Massaging sinus pressure points" . . . Here:

Good morning, Voltmaniacs.

We went wood cutting yesterday. Hubby cut down a tree that was so big it filled up two trailers with wood:) Pics later.

I mostly sat in the truck and read a book.

We got rain again!!!!! Loving it.

On the way home from woodcutting in the mountains, our windshield wiper broke. Luckily, we made it to Yerington. Then, we found out the Napa was closed. Hubby was trying to jerry rig the wiper but then I thought "Hey, let's see if there is another parts store in town."

Gotta love the cell phone. There was another parts store and they were open. And, it was only a few businesses down from where we were. Hubby got our new wiper blades and we managed to get home even though it was raining.

Bo is certainly a handsome fellow.

Ram, what a big ole smiley face.
Nothing like chopping wood adventures with the one you love ;) I am not allowed to use the chainsaw at all (I am kinda clumsy and my boyfriend said I am never to touch the chainsaw....lol) I do get to chop sometimes even though he still gets nervous with me doing that :) I help unload it, and my biggest job is stacking. I used to help my Dad carry and stack wood as a kid, and have some nice memories :)

Ram was a very smiley guy! He loved everyone, and the simplest things made him happy...and eating was his favorite ;) (I decided to delete his sad past after rereading it this morning....it just made me too sad to read it. )

Well I am very envious, especially with all this talk about everyone's family members and the pictures . . . SO I thought I would share too . . . Long story short - "My" last great Buddy was over 30 years ago . . . He allowed "Me" to adopt him from the Northshore Animal League in NYC . . . His name was "Muffongo" (WHAT ? ? ? I know - I know - "My" Partner at the time named him, it is Latin for "Muffin" . . .) . . . One of the interesting things about the adoption, is that even though there were so many others there which were extremely Friendly and Fun to play with and that so wanted "Me" to adopt them . . . He was very shy and the only one just sitting in the back of the "playpen" looking up at "Me" with those eyes - So I just couldn't resist . . . AND - So glad I didn't, "Muffin" was just as much Fun (if not more so) and one of the best roommates and Friend that anyone could have asked for . . .

spJqMDG.jpg

BTW: It turned out that he was actually a purebred English Cocker Spaniel too . . . :D

Just wish I could accept the responsibility again . . . I would definitely adopt . . . Just Sayin' . . .
What a beautiful buddy! A wonderful story! I love hearing stories about other people's pets "family members" :)

Thanks. I will check out that link. I know there is an especially sensitive point in my left eyebrow. Looks like 12 hours of cleaner air took care of it-- until next time.

I forgot about the steam and eucalyptus oil. Will need to get some. Wrote a list of those points. Thanks.

The tree was huge. When it fell the ground shook.

Hubby with newly fallen giant tree.

Where we ususally go you can't cut any tree over 24 inches and there aren't many trees that big anyway. This was the biggest tree he ever cut.

']

We had a bunch of guys there so I got a group shot of them lined up in front of the tree holding their chainsaws.

Ducklady, cutting wood is fun and it does create a lot of good memories.

moanin', Voltatics.

That was a big tree, Lizzie. There are some videos on YouTube of giant sequoias being cut. They cut a notch, then crawl into the notch to set wedges. I don't think I'd want to do that, LOL. Biggest I've ever cut is probably 20 or 24 inches and they can be a headache because most of us don't have saws with bars bigger than 18 inches.

I found out I was allergic to cedar the hard way. I was building a cedar deck, cutting the balusters, compound cuts, with a radial saw. I had a cup of coffee handy, of course, and did some cuts and took a drink of coffee. Problem was the cup, even though it had a travel lid, had gotten sprayed with sawdust and I drank it. My lips and tongue started to swell, rapidly, and my throat started to close, too. I had some antihistamines with me, luckily since I was working alone as usual, got them down and got myself off to the doctor in a rush.

I cut a lot of wood, back in the 70s and 80s, when we used to heat the house with a wood stove. I used a 14" electric chainsaw and a 12" gas one.

Ducklady, if you are klutzy, it's a good thing that you don't use a chainsaw. It only takes a split second to really hurt yourself with one of those things !!!

As for allergies and sinus headaches, sorry to hear it, 0mg, Awsum and Uncle. :(

Good morning Voltlumberjacks !!!!! :D

Hiya Lizzie and Semiretired. Hope I didn't miss anyone !!!

When Kevlar first came out I was at a conference of police and security equipment manufacturers. I was surprised to see the Kevlar booth had "logging chaps" and went over to talk to them about it. Turns out that Kevlar, which can withstand a .45, 9mm or .357 at point blank ranges, will only hold up for a second or two under a chainsaw blade at cutting speed. It could just be enough time to save some severe damage though and holds up longer than anything else short of steel. I recently was looking at sharpening tips for chainsaw blades and ran across an amazing fact. A chainsaw blade at cutting speed, is moving at about 500,000 feet per minute, but don't quote me on that number although I know it was in the 100,000s. No wonder they work so well.
