Sitting down, facing forward.
'moanin, Volties.

Our weather is behaving like a yo-yo. Cold one or two days then warm one or two days. It's spring time and that's what happens as the weather changes, along with rain and wind. The bright side is that it's harbinger of warm weather coming, soon.

I feel like I could use some of that yellow root today. Everything is aching and I feel like I've got a fever. It's been so long since I've had a cold or the flu, I forget what it feels like.

Poor thing. Eat some chicken noodle soup, awsum.

It's going to be about 68 degrees here but it will be more like 63 degrees for the rest of the week. I may have to have a morning fire in the woodstove tomorrow.

Yes, I am still weeding.

Hey Volties. I'm posting at Rave's request. She considers you all her family and wanted you all to know what has been going on. Uncle eluded to it in his big PM thread when he said that a dear friend of his needed your thoughts & prayers. I'm going to try and summarize the last 5 days as best as I can but it's been hard on me and everyone else involved so I might get some things wrong or out of order but Rave will straighten it all out when she is able.

It started with that damn flu that has been going around. She had it for 4 days, couldn't keep anything down not ever water so she got dehydrated. Her BF didn't like what he was seeing and had to practically hog tie her to get her to agree to go to the hospital. She was in acute renal failure. They started her on an IV but she started having terrible muscle spasms in her back, shoulder, pain shooting down her arm and swollen fingers. Her right hand was useless. She had no strength in it at all. They gave her a narcotic painkiller that started with a "T". I can't remember drug names. The spasms got worse so they gave her more. They continued to get worse so they changed to another narcotic painkiller that started with an "F". She has MS as you all know and is very sensitive to narcotics and is not suppose to take it. They had a hard time drawing blood because her blood was thick so they started her on a blood thinner. Finally her neurologist was called in and he said NO NARCOTICS and waited for the narcotics to leave her system. That took a couple days and in the meantime she was in excruciating pain, kept nodding off and at one point became unresponsive (couldn't wake her up) so they did a Cat scan which looked good. She was responsive when they took her back to her room. She had a head MRI and that came back good. She is going to have a MRI of her spine later today or tomorrow. There were other tests but I can't remember them all. She would feel pretty good one morning and then have an attack later. It was like that for several days. Up and down. When she was feeling up to Physical Therapy to see if she could be released she was too exhausted to finish it and she was having a hard time breathing. She had been on oxygen for a couple days but seemed to be doing better until PT. After PT they discovered that she had congestive heart failure and fluid in her lungs. They put her on a new pain/anti-inflammatory drug similar to ibuprofen and her swelling started going down and the pain completely stopped. That was today. She felt so much better today that she wanted to try walking with a walker and she did it just fine. She is waiting on test results and the MRI for her back but today she looked great. She was able to stay awake for quite awhile and talk and laugh with us. She was a sight for very sore eyes. Her daughter has stayed by her side the whole 5 days, not eating much and sleeping when she can in a recline near Rave's bed. She has been a God Sent. I can't say enough about how good she has been at taking care of her mom. Her son has been there as often as he could and her BF has been there everyday and so have I except one day she asked me not to come because she was too out of it, groggy and dozing off. So we are all hoping that she will get released tomorrow but she might have to stay 1 more day. I will be staying with her when she gets released until she doesn't need me anymore or gets tired of having me around. ;) She's a fighter and hasn't let this get her down. She has stayed positive and kept her sense of humor throughout this terrible ordeal. I've never seen anybody in so much pain before so it was very hard for me but she knew I was there and was happy about that.

More when I know more.

Wow! Rave, get well!

I go away for a couple of days to get my computer up and running, and look what happens!

I drove down to my brother's house outside Philly (Philadelphia), about a 4-hour, nonstop drive on Tuesday. My brother thinks the hard drive in my old laptop is toast, and he helped me set up the new computer. He will try to repair the old one if its just the hard drive. He's not sure that's the only problem.

Wed., I took them all -- my brother, his wife, and their 2 sons -- out to an absolutely wonderful Thai restaurant not far from their house: The Mango Tree in Eagleville, PA, in case any of you are ever in the area, though that's doubtful.

We got my new computer up and running, and I drove home today. I left here just after a snowstorm with a few inches of snow on the ground and returned with very heavy rain through the Poconos. The snow here has mostly melted, though I hear the there may be a little more tonight, late.

I arrived in Ithaca early enough that I could come home to make up the fill-in-the-blanks worksheets for the kids I was going to tutor today, but then I forgot to take the new sheets out to the car, so the kids got a break from vocab.

My brother & his wife had a box of children's books their sons had outgrown or not been interested in, and I took them all as future reading material for my kids.

So I got up early enough to be gone when my brother and sister-in-law and the kids left for work and school and got home in plenty of time to tutor this afternoon.

    Ditto that, Terry.

Raven, I will be keeping you in my thoughts and waiting for an update on your improvement.

Fortunately, only the mundane happening around here, Voltpeeps. I have been weeding already this morning and considering not doing anymore weeding for the rest of the day. I should go pick up my tables from the rummage sale which was a huge success, by the way. The Nevada Wells Cooperative made $400.

Cash is playing with his girlfriend. That is what we call his blankie that he drags around the house. So cute.

I hope you are feeling better today. :)

The weather here in MD is like it there. Yesterday we had some thunder & lightning with microbursts going through with some areas receiving structural damage.

Sunny but cold today and tomorrow expecting some sn--w. Lord, I don't even want to say the word let alone see any. Come on Spring!
