Good morning Voltfolk. Wiseguy is lookin good there Lizzie. Trying cold brewed coffee this morning for the first time evah. Not bad at all and quick. Made concentrate and once it's strained it will keep for a week. Concentrate, milk, hot water dilute, nuke and done. All a lot quicker than waiting for the pot to brew in the morning and the taste is smooooth. Not like a reheat or anything. Hoping it'll help with my Bride's acid reflux since the acid is almost nil compared to hot brew.

Lizzie, those are great photos! I can tell you had fun. I liked the sequence of getting Wiseguy to jump. And that one where he's standing and I can see his conformation -- he looks really good. You sure lucked out when you bought him!

How does Pony Baloney take it when you take Wiseguy away? Does he stay calm or get upset?

'moanin, Voltizens.

Looks like you had a great time with Wiseguy, Lizzie! I love the sequence with the jump. He doesn't seem to like the tires very much though, but looks great in the jump!

Maybe I'll try the cold brew routine, Wuzz. I don't mind the wait for brewed in the morning, just time it so I'm doing other "important" tasks while the brewing is happening. Mrs. Awsum makes a cinnamon/espresso that she brews ahead then nukes when she wants it. I've never been a fan of reheated coffee, but maybe the cold brew method will be different. Any tips for the actual brewing process?

The other day when I putting branches out for pickup I decided I run the mower and mow where I was going to stack the branches, planning on mowing the whole yard the nest day. Anyhow, I started the blades going and there was a heavy vibration followed by a loud snap. Nothing serious just the belt breaking. It's been six years, now, so it was overdo for replacement anyway. I thought I had a spare, but no, so I went to the Sears parts website, Sears tractor, and got sticker shock. $85 plus shipping!

So, I calipered the belt for width and height, then measured for length. A quick search for V belts and I found the exact belt for less than half what Sears wants. So, I ordered two. Came out to less than one from Sears with free shipping. That was Friday morning and the belts are out for delivery today. Love the internet, sometimes anyway.

Pony got a bit upset at first, yesterday, but he quickly decided that there was hay left to eat and settled down.

I try to separate them on a fairly regular basis so that they don't get too herd bound. Sometimes they get pretty upset at first but they are generally okay in a bit. They are always very excited when they get back together and like to whinny at one another until they can see each other.

Wiseguy did not want to get in the trailer yesterday so I need to practice that some more. Make sure he goes in and gets some carrots and comes out nicely again.

Good job on finding parts for less, awsum.

Happy late Anniversary Wuzz and to your lady as well :) I hope you both had a lovely day :)

The hen duck is foing wonderful. Duddy is happier than I have ever seen him. He loves having another duck to do duck stuff with :)

That is so cool, Ducky.

I got two coats of paint on the exterior trim and want to install later today. I also painted a white strip on the front of each of the deck steps since they were hard to read and we were in danger of hurting our selves. Maybe we are just getting older and our eyes suck:)

Time to stain some interior trim.

Good morning, Voltville.

I was thinking how nice it is for the ducks to have one another. Some critters are so lonely without their kind. Horses are like that. They need other horses. They will settle for a goat.

Working around the house. Hubby is going to cut the oak trim and the oak board for the door sill today. All I will have left is paint touch up and wood putty and stain touch ups. Plus a coat of polyurethane on the new trim I just got. So exciting to be wrapping up a long and satisfying set of home improvement projects. And just in time for the BBQ on the 28th.

'moanin, Voltatics.

It is nice that Duddy has a "same species" playmate. Ducks do tend to flock together, no puns intended. They seem to be a species that likes the company of others. Most species are like that.

Good job getting the door and the deck completed, Lizzie. Sometimes home improvement projects start out looking fairly simple and quick then go off the rails, and one thing always leads to something else.

It was cloudy and humid yesterday but the sun has returned today. The humidity is still high and set to go higher along with the temperatures for the rest of the week. Typical August weather, really, despite the hang wringing dramatists on TV. I think Tritium got a little rain, finally.

We're still waiting for confirmation on a pending litter. The last word is that "mommy" looks like she's pregnant but it's still too early to be certain, the signs could be a false pregnancy. In the mean time we're still watching that puppy cam. Just one pup left and she looks so lonely. She does get out of the crate multiple times each day and I've noticed another dog, Boerboel, laying outside the crate many times, but she just looks so lonely.

She also seems to have some deformities on the paws which will make finding her a permanent home pretty difficult. I've looked and looked on the internet a spent hours reading about health problems of Boerboels and paw deformities just aren't anywhere to be found. She doesn't appear to be lame from it but it's still so sad to see.

Good morning, Wuzz. Hope allgoes well this afternoon.

Good morning, Voltmaniacs.

Having my coffee and vaping. Did I tell you about the gal that chastised me for vaping? Why aren't people just glad I quit smoking? I told her I was happy and that I quit smoking for three years. She said "It's still a habit.' I said "So is coffee. And I do need my coffee every morning!" I quit smoking, I'm happy...can't people just be happy for me?

Pony and Wiseguy are chasing each other around the pen. So cute!

I've been invited to horse fun day in Fallon next month. I'll have to get more details. In the meantime, I need to watch my getting your horses respect video and put it into action.

Yes, I have to work today and that is a four letter word.

I've come to the harsh reality in my short life that if you are happy it makes people fuming mad because they aren't. All they want to do is screw up others happiness to make themselves feel better. Well Ms. Lizzie, you just ignore people like that because you can't talk to those stubborn fools. You quit smoking and that is Fantabulous, you kicked a habit that most folks never can! You go ahead and be happy, heck I'm gonna be happy right along with ya on the other side of the states. Kill 'em with your happiness!!! :grr::grr:

If somebody gives me grief about vaping being a "habit, and a "bad habit", I simply suggest they go to their safe space and change their soiled, wet, diaper. The Government, especially the FD, has gone out of their way to identify vaping as smoking, therefor it has to be bad.

Duddy has loved the chickens, but none of them play in the water with him or do other duck stuff. Now he has a duck that does the same things he likes to do :) Ducks are very social creatures. Thats why it is said to never have 1 duck all by itself with nothing at all to socialize with.

So, Lizzie, did Wiseguy ever play with the goats?
