I have to wonder, is subohming driving the market or is the market driving them?
Well it wasn't long ago we were right at the limits of the most awesome 20 amp battery minke had considering there is little to know advertising with this stuff Id say manufacturers are responding to what people want.
They go where the money is it's hard to keep selling a kayfun over and over no matter how fancy you dress it up.

There are a ton of RTAs for m2l vapers out there. I can't say everything new is just for cloud chasers, although many of the cheaper ones coming out are.

I've had a Lemo since it came out, and have the airflow half shut. I like it like that. I just got a Focloud, which can be set up single or dual, but it doesn't have the airflow to make giant clouds. Its on the tighter side. I have it built to 0.55 ohm and yet its a gentler vape that suits me quite well. A good dual coil atty for those that aren't cloud crazy for $30.

I like a more airy draw but a cooler low wattage vape. I do lung hits mostly just as I did with cigs.

So that is why no one buys Kayfuns or Reos or Evods or Provari's or Ego VV's or Istick 30watts now?

But finding those people, how many do you actually see? Sure they sell. But I walked into a shop here and they first seemed confused by my genesis on a poldiac it was funny how they passed it around and stared at it, then they were surprised I could get a decent cloud without a dripper on a boxmod. And it comes nowhere near cloud chasing but the vapor is awesome thick from my dual wicks

I don't know. I like big lung hits to fill my lungs and feel like I'm smoking so I don't smoke. The end result of that is bigger clouds. I do use good equipment and operate it safely.
Im with you,I do like "normal"vaping but when the mood takes me I get banished to my man shed where I can experiment(safely)and see what clouds I can get,I enjoy ALL parts of vaping,I dont understand some that say this way is better than that surely its whatever you the individual enjoys...

The market is profit driven. So which would you rather sell me, a 1.25$ carto that will last about a month, or a 5.25$ clearo coil that will be obsolete in about a week? Would you want to sell me a topper that only uses 3-4ml of juice/day, or would you rather sell me one that uses ~15ml/day? It's all about the MONEY. ....keep coming back .... we want your money ....

    This is a loaded question.

My main complaint is similar to others, they dominate the market. "More huge vapor" but what if I don't want that? Part of the reason vaping is successful is that it's customizable. Just listen to any reviewer and anything not oriented to big clouds is called "for the beginner". Why? Because it's convienent, easy, portable, stealthy, pretty (backlash against that too), simple ... so there is a mindset involved. A person either vapes for clouds or they are a beginner. Wrong.

    That's my personal opinion.

In their defence, I enjoy being around people who enjoy themselves and their enthusiasm is infectious. I doubt the vaping industry would be what it is today without them. They tend to be the backbone, the drivers, the advocates, the ones who fuel the lastest developments even if it does look like they push equipment to the max. That's why we are using 50+ watt devices now instead of 15 watts. Tanks have evolved to satisfy them so it's not fair to complain too loudly since we all tend to benefit from their advances in equipment, just maybe a generation behind. It all works out in the end.

I do sorta wish cloud chasing would become more recognized as a hobby / sport, since I think that's what it really is. I've seen signs of it with "competition" gear and talk about circuits and tournaments in cloud chasing. From what I've heard, there is a talent developed to get clouds hanging together for 6+ feet. Competitions have equipment checked for safety and I think if it was recognized, some of the tension would ease.

However there is a huge backlash and I'm not a good one to explain it since I'm not fully understanding of it myself.

A lot of it has to do with kids vaping, many of them using 0% nic, but they are underage, attempting to buy gear and being very bold about it. Recently our local vape group discovered several kiddie Facebook pages. Just like adult groups, there were some kids mixing and selling eliquids (0-3% nic), mod builders, trading and selling with about 100 members per group. This is a town of 500k. One of our members recognized several being in middle school. YIKES. Their personal pages boasted blowing huge clouds - that was the sole focus of these groups.

That's the backlash against cloud chasers - whether intentional or not, the high visabiity of big clouds is that it's attracting kids. Try explaining to media that they aren't using nic. It may not be directly their fault (I tend to think any action with the word "ban" in it will attract kids), they are the ones left with the responsibility. It's a tough situation full of greys and it's under a microscope right now.

We all know that politicizing vaping is wrong. It would help appearances out a lot if cloud chasing was toned down a notch for awhile until this attraction to kids is figured out (along with the rest of the garbage from Wash DC). It doesn't help to antagonize.

Anyway, that's the backlash as I see it.

I have a 7th grader and a 10th grader and vaping is very common among their peers. High school is not soo much of a shocker, but 7th graders??? When i started vaping my daughters immediately acknowledged how all their friends vaped..they even laughed at my clouds and called them mommy clouds. They go into great description of large massive clouds their friends create and how several of them will blow different colored clouds into a circle and watch them merge and create neat swirls of colored vapor. I asked why they thought they did it and the 7th grader said they like the head rush and creating cool clouds and the one in high school said quite a few of her friends stop doing it because they where starting to have a hard time breathing and it scared them so they stopped. Both of my daughters hate cig smoke and think exhaled vapor stinks so it turns them off...thank you God!! needless to say i sat down and explained to them that vaping is not entirely harmless but is considered a harm reduction alternative to smoking...harm reduction does not me harmless and that it was never intended to be used as a joy ride or a cool kiddie hobby, it was meant to help people stop smoking or at least be a healthier alternative to smoking. I am very concerned about the youth and vaping, but i would rather they vape then smoke cigs...and it's disturbing that they are doing either one honestly.

Personally I would rather convince you this $1.30 bottle of juice is "premium" cause I printed a cool label then charge you $30 for it:D

Oh while your here... dont forget another 5 pack of subtank coils;)

As I said the market. Of the 3 vape shops I have visited none had any low wattage equipment to speak of at all. Lower profit margins? Or the mindset of the owners? Got me but cloud chasing is what is being pushed a

Wanting to vape on the cheap will keep me away from Sub Ohming if nothing else would. I would only do RDA or RTA if I ever do sub ohm. What I CAN afford and whatt I WANT to spend are different things. My wife unit on the other hand is a sucker for advertising. Just glad she does not vape :D If she took up vaping and went into a vape shop....

There are chemicals which when vaped will create slight colors, but they are so dangerous to inhale no e-liquid maker will use them. I wonder what they are adding to their juice to get colors... No wonder they have trouble breathing...

Actually one feed the other. As consumption rates rise manufacturers try to stay ahead of the curve. Which in turn raises the consumption rate. It's a continuing cycle of the extreme becoming the norm. Which in turn sells new products.

Not sure where you're coming from here....5 Pawns puts their juice in an oak barrel to age. I did the same thing with my DIY Vanilla Custard. As soon as I vaped it, my wallet disappeared.
