That's all nice and well but a majority of the people did not start vaping as a hobby but a way to get off the analogs. Enjoy your hobby, I am happy I do not depend on analogs anymore. Funny, I paintball also but that is more a sport then expelling vapor out your lungs.

If in theory you have to answer to your wife about having to go to a cloud chasing competition, then you should have to answer to her about your paintball outings as well...

Just like vaping, there was a sub culture of paintball that broke out and became what the "true" paintballers called infidels. Similar to the cloud chasers you are crying about here. When misfit teams like the All Americans and Ironmen broke out of the woods and started playing speedball on smaller fast paced fields. These types of tournaments, similar to that of cloud chasing competitions, were frowned upon by those who purests who wanted to stay in the woods. And as competitive paintballing gained traction and became highly popular tournament series like the NPPL and PSP legitimized paintballing and made players professional. Nearly all the innovations for the sport of paintballing were driven by the competitive nature of the tournaments, forcing manufacturers to push the envelope on innovation. And look where it took the sport? I have been in the sport of paintball for nearly 20 years and my current setups are a WGP modified VSC with CCM internals and pump kit, and a CCM'd WGP Black Magic. With all the technology in paintball, the real players are pumpers....

The same is happening in the Vape scene. The OG vapers are ...... at the cloud chasers who are driving innovation in the scene. I have steered away from the vaping scene online for the past several months and the amount of innovations with not just products, but methods and techniques is just overwhelmingly awesome. You may not like these competitions, but they do drive innovations that may otherwise be a bit stale.

It's not whats used in a competition it's how people are using it I've been in a few abd I've never had the lowest ohm coil I've never had the most vg I've never had the best mod but I've still been in the top 3 because what i use works together that's the innovation making everything work together we got airflow control from people drilling out their atty to get more air we got mech mods from people making them from flashlights that's the innovation right there.

I tell you one thing, if there was a flavor competition, I'd not only be there to witness it, I'd be all up in the builds of the contestants like . Hell, yeah! One liquid, various set-ups, contestants and a panel of judges. I'd sit on that panel in a second!

You mean you're one of those people who would join the ranks of those nasty, godforsaken flavor chasers!!? People like you are going to be the death of vaping! ANTZ are going to be ecstatic that vapers are now promoting high-flavored vaping. What do you think this is going to do to the 'save the children' thingy!

The end of vaping I tell you.

And get off my lawn.

I haven't read this entire thread ... but I will add my two cents.

I'm not a cloud chaser or a competitor, but I do respect those who do it and those who are having fun with it as long as its done in the proper environment (i.e. a local B&M or Vape-related event), and as long as its done safely. I've had a lot of fun working with/consulting/b.s.ing with the competitors, and the electronics/builds involved are pretty impressive to an electronics-geek such as myself. I do liken it to automobile racing/drag racing... who has the fastest car == who can blow the biggest cloud :D

I embrace it as a fun, incredibly social, competitive part of vaping culture and as long as its carried out responsibly, I'll be sitting (standing?) in the stands at every opportunity at my local B&Ms. It not only supports the local B&Ms, but also brings fellow vapers together; which is fantastic.

When are the sponsorships coming? Red Bull? ;-)

Well, I guess nothing would be more goofy than a competition for things related to flavor. Yeah, you'd never see something like that. ;)

This is getting out of hand. If we don't stop it now, sooner rather than later the paintball nutz will be shooting through the vapor clouds trying to nail the judges while they eat their mac n cheese.!!!!

Anarchy I tell ya!!!

Think of the little children

Watching the 10:00pm news earlier and apparantly earlier today there was a "mac & cheese" competition in Phoenix. Yup....people came from all over the Phoenix metro area to compete in who could cook the best mac & cheese. Kind of makes cloud comps seem fairly normal, lol.

And not only fairly normal, but incredibly more healthy!

Makes you wonder why smokers didn't advance to cigars to blow bigger clouds. Oh, cigars cause cancer and will make you turn green around the gills. Vaping is safe(er) and VG doesn't produce much throat hit. It's harmless, uh less irritating.

Maybe the rules for cloud contests should be made a little more competitive. PG juices only allowed ... no wimpy VG. One competition and only the hard core competitors would want to do it again.

I like this idea... Take the training wheels off! VG makes good clouds even on lesser hardware. Want to impress people, do it without the VG.

Cloud competitions seem so candy ... to me. They should do Nic competitions - see who can withstand the highest nicotine. Any fainting, inability to stand, vomiting or pant soiling would eliminate you.

That`ll separate the men from the boys.

(I can see buckets all around, what a mess, LOL)

I can understand why people want some VG component in their juices. I like 80/20 and 70/30 PG/VG myself. The VG knocks off a little of the PG bite and adds some nice vapor to the exhale. I've tried 100% VG a few times and I get big clouds with no sensation of TH at all. I'm not a big throat hit fan, but I like something on the order of an ultra light cigarette sensation at least.

Japanese cotton wicking in my EHPro Kayfun 3.1 produces big clouds (comparatively) with my 80pg/20vg juice on a 2 ohm coil. Sometimes, I have to wave my hand around to clear the air and that's more cloud than I meant to create. When I go into the vape store and watch the guys lung inhale behind the counter and blow thick streams 5 or 6 feet across the room I wonder how their lungs deal with it over and over, day after day.
