I’ve been on ecf over ten years now. This is the first time I’ve taken a ban seriously. I just kept thinking it’ll never happen. Now I know better and bought a freezer, nic, and added to my stash. Even I was surprised how much I spent just last month. However the money I’ve spent is still less than what a year of cigarettes would cost.

It does seem like it's been coming for a long time. After so many years it's easy to get complacent. Like getting hurricane warnings for years and all you get is a few falling trees.

Now we have a definite date just a few months away. Even before that comes down there are State bans, possible Trump flavor ban, some scary legislation in Congress that could land any time, vendors holding close out sales. It sneaks up on you a little at a time and then suddenly it's too late. Guess it's still possible that it won't happen but it doesn't seem likely right now.

I'm glad you got stocked up. I wonder what percentage of vapers are actually ready for this.

I've tried getting my neighbor prepped but he keeps dragging his feet. I'm afraid he's going to be left unprepared and I will be the first person he mooches from.

Yeah, they look at you like you're one of those crazy people with a bunker up in the hills and 100lb bags of dried beans.

Even my own wife, who also vapes, looks at me that way.
Unfortunately those are the people who are going to be left high and dry in a few short months. I am sick of warning my vaping friends and I'm at the point now where I couldn't be bothered anymore.

Don't forget the rice to go with those beans. You gotta have both to make it a complete protein. :w00t:

My wife, who doesn't vape (and has never used nicotine) keeps asking me whether I'm sure I've got enough.

She knows from quit attempts before vaping what I'm like without it, and it ain't a pretty picture!

Any vaper with any sense at all not believing in a possible ban now is not that smart.

I believed in one from the moment I read the "This is how you can VapeEverywhere" card, I said, "Oooh..,. society is NOT going to stand for this."

I'm actually shocked it has been as long as it has.

The thing that weirds me out, is like, MOST of the stuff (I have made a few poor purchases) I KNOW I will use. I mean, I'm USIGN my nic. Actively. I am FINE with it. If they come around with nic 2073 which is somehow ":better" as there is no ban, I'm not going to CARE honestly. I hear @Rossum say he is happy with his gear, and that's how *I* feel. I don't need the latest greatest thing anymore I have TONS of mods and tanks I am just happy with, and coils, and I will use them.

I don't think 'THE better vape" of all time is around the corner and even if it is, I will still be perfectly happy with what I have.

So... I stocked, and I am HAPPY, Some of my very favorite stuff is on the OLDER side anyway. IDK.

The husband doesn't mind, but he also doesn't want me to have an oxygen tank and he is a prepper by nature. So, he gets it.

@Rossum is a great guy, I agree. In addition to that, he is also intelligent, a modder, has wide interests in many various subjects, and possesses a lot of knowledge.

As far as the potential bans being percieved via (obvious IMO) indicators, I've seen a few (understatement).

Nope. Wives don't worship. If you are LUCKY she may admit "You were right."

You might have to withhold the nic for a few days, depending on her degree of stubbornness. LOL.

Anna
It's relative with wives.

"You were right" = Worship

Uhm.. I hate to admit this but the last time I built a mod was in 2015 or so.

Well, that was the high point of modding. Im re-reading the modding forum right now looking for inspiration. What happened to CaptSteve? That Burl wood squonker of his was better than any I've ever seen, before or after.

Ah, but she'll worship you after nic hits $1000 per liter :)
Uh, a little more. If the current taxes in Congress go through as they are written now there would be $2700 federal nicotine tax on a liter of 100mg/ml.

You're an optimist, I calculated $2780 [emoji3]

Don't think I would have been able to handle it back in 14 if I had signed on here and been told vaping would go away in a few months and I had to get liters of nic and a lifetime supply of mods and tanks. That's on top of figuring out what type of vaping I would like and what mods were good and all that. It would be hard enough if the river came over the levee today and I had to start from scratch tomorrow, but at least I would know what to get.
That is basically what happened to me. 2 weeks after I started vaping I found ECF. I instantly found people going on about the deeming and giving the impression it was imminent. Here I was 2 weeks off cigs, broke (that first kit really cost big for my budget back then), and in a panic.

Over the next year I learned to DIY and rebuild coils, Picked up a mech and an RDA (Hello REO). I have been on a one woman mission to be self sufficient ever since. I just thank GOD I had the time to learn what I needed to know.
