IDK Would you give up every civil liberty you have in order to be able to vape? Would you support such a socialist agenda it was terrifying it you were "Given the right to vape?"

IDK-- I took it. I took my right to vape and I did so by buying what I needed to get by. Everyone talks about the unprepared or not even interested yet in vaping vaper. I agree that's an issue.

However, it is not my political issue. I'm sorry to say it, but just like Vietnam (because I was not around then) was not my political issue. I came in under the wire and I feel lucky certainly, but I also don't feel the need to scream "I vape, I vote" wherever a political figurine might be. I actually am not really supposed to honestly.

Fortunately it is not my issue by about a few months. Am a sad for the future vaper or vapers who realize, suddenly JUST what they had and they no longer had-- it is THEIR issue and I will be thrilled to watch them take it on.

Maybe it's heartless but I view it more as a timing thing. If you are not prepared, you are not going to have a great time but you have a TON more motivation for advocacy also.

I have no idea what either candidate is gonna do and frankly I am unsure if either candidate will necessarily be ALIVE. Not the uh, presidential "attempts" even but Biden looks half pickled in formaldehyde ALREADY.

Sometimes at the ripe age of 46, l think I am ONE year able to be prez but I can't and I look at all those old dudes and I am like "FROM WHERE THE ENERGY?" Maybe it's easier than it looks but the before and after pics kind of speak otherwise.

IDK food for thought @zoiDman , anyway

Although Many are, and that is a Right they can hold, I am Not a Single Issue Voter. So how I consider a Candidates Views on a Single Issue are Weighted and then go against a Final Total.

But if I was an Incumbent President who is Struggling, and who needs to win Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Florida, Arizona, and North Carolina, and my margin of Victory (or Loosing) might be smaller than the amount of Vaper's in any of those states, it might be Foolish to Ignore just what the "I Vape. I Vote" message is say'n.

Not looking to delve into much more about all this than to Say that "I Vape. I Vote" does send a message. Whether the Message is Heard or Whether the Numbers will matter, I'll leave that up to Others to ponder.

BTW - Here is something Very Deeming related that was just Posted in another Thread...

FDA Plans to Defer PMTA Enforcement for Some Cigars; Not Vapes - Vaping360

Reading it again it does specifically say flavored cartridge-based e-cigarettes which could be a good thing it may mean that they move on to open systems at a later date or that they're really planning on not approving anything because it was originally believed that only closed pod systems would get through because it's just too hard to do tests on absolutely anything that could be put on something with a 5-10

No, there is no endorsable candidate.

There are only candidates the group could THREATEN to endorse. Me, personally l'd go after that Cuban chick whose dad said she was a disgrace to her heritage, because Joe Biden wouldn't notice.

At least here, Trump wouldn't notice because I believe it (so far) to have been the state most willing to heartily endorse Trump without a pitchfork group showing up and ripping the sign out of wherever it is and engraving threats upon the lawn. It's so refreshing. I'm not saying Trump is my favorite president of all time but you know what WV Appalachians are? Smart. You will never know HOW smart if you assume otherwise, because they can spot someone being patronizing a mile away and they "go dark." It's like ALMOST a split personality but they know they are doing it (this is my observation this far and from marrying one. I can patronize him the SLIGHTEST bit and he will like, wait until I am tangled in a giant ball of wool 32 days later before he even ANSWERS. And he loves me I assume.)

Really, we need a third party candidate who is sane, ethical, thoughtful and willing to return to the Constitutional basics.

So get back to me in 300 years when the US is a steaming pile or rubble 80% of it and let me know, I will be interested in finding out who that politician is.

The other thing I've considered might be fun and bring us back to basics in a way would be like, ROTATING political systems, not just like the system itself but the people in it.

It would help us figure out if the US sucks because of the populace, the laws, or the politicians.

I would like England and Canada first. China might be a good choice though if only to head of the bout of rampant communism we got going. We could live in a REAL communist system for a couple years, pass it on, and go, "Oh, so that is what that is like that SUCKS. What an idiot I was for participating in the phrase that cannot be named."

Checks and balances are all that keep me sane, I'm like "Oookay whoever it is will only get 1/100 of their agenda done in 8 years I need not fear."

Only, communism gets stuff done; We would be in for a RUDE awakening.

I don't want to work that hard for that price either but it might be worth it for the younger generation. No one sane enjoys going from 8 hours a day video gaming into the coal mines.

No vaping either I don't think?
Anna

At the moment it's all kind of a zero sum game is how I comfort myself. If Trump is reelected well, the democrats will like CONTINUE on with the "pay you to stay home" and if Cuban Chick is elected, there will immediately be a COVID cure or the numbers will drop to what they were all along.

Yeah, it's all gonna suck. Sorry. Vaping is gonna be toast for a bit regardless of who is "endorsed."
I never thought of you as an optimist but three hundred years before the United States becomes a steaming pile of rubbish or at least 80% of it? I have it pinned hopefully not within my lifetime but I wouldn't bet on it.

The real slogan should be Smokers' Lives Matter but that wuld be too complicated for the TC zombies. Leading up to 2016 I said to coworkers, I'm voting for Trump, because if I have to be miserable, I want company. I was single issue on vaping. I'll vote for Trump again. He's a better hope for vaping than the DEMs. And a second term president can throw his weight around more.

I don’t know how good Trump will be for vaping but I’m fairly certain he wont be worse than the alternative.

Trump has been hamstrung and attacked from every possible angle honestly, it might be interesting to see a second term. I wish he would start picking real experts instead of cronies. That could help significantly.

Joe Biden would do great-- as a SCARECROW.

The muppet (Bernie) has turned evil and like do NOT vote for that guy.

Then (I assume) we will have Gary Johnson floating around with his slightly goofy and ill informed type of libertarianism.

None of em care about deeming.

Yeah we got choices alright. Sad to say if *I* were a political candidate who got yelled at "We vape, we vote" I would think, "Shut up I am trying to fix the economy before our deficit gets so heavy we all drown." Although to be fair, the closing of all vape shops in the US is just a BONEHEAD MOVE. ARGH.

Oh, I am totally an optimist. All you need to do is read "A Short History of Nearly Everything" by Bill Bryson (it's not short, just as an FYI but it is AWESOME) and you become amazed and wide eyed concerning the fact that life evolved at all let alone HUMANKIND.

I see absolutely NO reason why the human race will not continue in some fashion or another for several thousand years.

However, equally we could all be dead tomorrow.

IDK I feel I am as optimistic as I should be, I mean, meh?

It's hard to know what happens in people's heads, but to me it really seemed like Trump's position on vaping a while back came from him personally. He went against all the people around him and briefly stood up for vaping. There didn't seem to be any political or electoral reason for him to do that. Seems like they got him straightened out though.

I would like to Monica Lewinsky the lot of them only mostly the dudes and the cigar would have to go SOMEWHERE else also The FDA staff.

These monsters would not be phased by any kind of torture session.

We would be better served to reward their behavior with Augusto Pinochet helicopter rides.

Due process and just government is what the political sociopath most fears.

In the meantime, vape on…

So they are at it again. They tried this back in March or April. And, as before, they only want to ban the sale of e-cigs, not cigarettes, even though they claim that both put people at increased risk.

Despite the subcommittee presenting the results of early studies indicating that coronavirus presents greater risks to e-cigarette users, Krishnamoorthi, D-Ill., said “The FDA declined to act, citing the need for more evidence that vaping is a risk factor for contracting coronavirus."

That failure to act cost us four months of harm to Americans that we cannot get back,” the congressman wrote. “The science is now in: e-cigarette users are much likelier to be diagnosed with COVID-19 and to experience symptoms.”

Their true agenda is revealed in the bold text. This has nothing to do with some benevolent concern on their part to keep people "safe" or "healthy".

Had this not been an election year they would not even be pushing this.

Virtue signalling is a tactic they use often and every time they speak their filth, all I hear is the following...

The entire "it's for the children" paradigm is utterly vanquished, as deconstructed by Forbe's accurate assertion that vaping is not a gateway given the reduction in teen smoking since vaping's introduction.

In a just lawful society, gov would remove such ludicrous rationalizations post haste along with their official exponents. But today technocratic stupidity rules, the repetitive bludgeoning of social pontification, not reason or conscience. So real world results mean nothing.

(Remove the imbeciles proclaiming that vaping is tobacco.)

Good luck. :)

There has been a consistent downward trend for quite a while but I do wonder at least for the past 10 maybe 12 years has anyone done a study on the reduction of teen cigarette use perhaps having to do with them switching to e-cigarettes. Now when they ask teens these questions they ask do you smoke do you vape do you use other products but 6 years ago they didn't. So how much is the downward Trend actually due to e cigs... I suspect we'll never know

Alcohol straight up kills teenagers and there's never any talk about banning cotton candy vodka. It's all about who has the most lobbying money. And that's how it's supposed to be in an oligarchy

The United States has an issue no matter who was in charge where no matter what the subject is no one looks at the repercussions of an action. We are very puritanical and if the majority of individuals for whatever reason believe something is immoral or wrong or dangerous they don't care that taking that thing away will cause much greater overall harm. We're very punitive as well even when there's ample evidence from other places that treating certain things a different way other than just pure punishment actually results in better societal outcomes. We would rather believe that we're punishing someone for doing something bad then we would actually reduce crime or harm to individuals or Society. There is ample evidence to show that for non-violent or victimless crimes it makes absolutely no sense to put people in jail especially first or second offenses and even more so when they're centered around addiction. Punishing them is not a deterrent and it doesn't teach them anything in fact looking at our recidivism rates it makes the people more likely to continue with a life of even worse crime now that they're unlikely to be able to live in an area that's not associated with drugs their employment opportunities are limited they probably aren't going to be able to get money for school to better their situation and they very well might have lost family friends. We would rather turn that person into a hardened Criminal Who turns to crime in order to support themselves and does crimes against people then we would do something effective that would actually assist them to turn their life around because we want to punish them we don't want a safe Society we don't want to help people we want to punish the bad people the immoral people. We don't care if there's other things that work better for everyone's benefit we are going to throw that baby out with the bathwater

So it makes 100% sense that the United States doesn't give a damn if something is better for you because they view you worthy of dying from cancer because you chose to smoke in the first place. And they're perfectly happy to accept any collateral damage like your children being orphaned or God forbid getting sick from you smoking etcetera. They would much rather punish you for being addicted to nicotine in the first place.
