For me yes, but she doesn't trust my DIY "Might be bad stuff you don't know about in that PG, VG, Nicotine." and, she is too lazy to DIY herself. She won't even make dinner unless it can be done in 5 mins or less in the microwave.
First, she is a product of this new generation, and second, she is heavily influenced by what most people are influenced by..
There is a reason they stopped teaching kids logic in school.. but i digress.
People are already prone to have some fear of the unknown. There is an Arabic saying that says "better the devil we know, than the devil we don't know"
This is human behavior to have a fear of what we don't know, to the point of preferring what we do know, even if we know it to be bad.
Couple that with negative campaigns against that unknown, and so long as you don't overdo it, you will be more likely to influence people to your point of view.
It is a fact that people are more heavily influenced by negative content than by either positive content or even contrasting content. This aspect of human nature has been deeply studied in political science, as well as utilized heavily as a result.
So, your daughter in law, unable to use logic and influenced by both the fear of the unknown and the negative campaigning against vaping, did what she was raised to do; bow to the will of those who know best how to influence her.
What you need to work on is how to counter their attack in an equally effective manner..
