Earlier in this thread a member posted the link below. It's a pretty good
explanation of how and why the deeming reg.'s will eliminate 99.9%
of the industry. I forgot the members name but, thanks for the link.
The Rest of the Story: Tobacco News Analysis and Commentary: FDA Draft Guidance Confirms that Deeming Regulations Will Decimate the E-Cigarette Industry
Below is my comment to the article of my opinion why this is all happening.
Please read it through and take it as a whole.

For various reasons I have been saying on the forums that the powers that be have to completely crush the e-cig industry. They do not want to tax it away. Most will attempt to get as much money from taxation before vaping is gone but, that's a different story. It's not the profit(BT). It's not the loss of profit (BP and government taxes and future medical expenses lost to the hospitals). It's none of these for one simple reason.
Think long term 20-30 years down the road. If one believes in the long term predictions that some day vaping will completely dwarf if not in fact replace smoking and if one believes what is is this link is true.
The myth of nicotine addiction - Formindep , then what I am about to say becomes evident. Vaping is not nor can be a viable economic long term solution for taxation or profit. Before vaping came along it was well understood by most that smoking would never go away. At some point it was realized that the decline in smoking would level off and after that not much more other than an outright ban would change that. Prior to vaping coming on the scene it appeared that was exactly what was happening. There was no panic. Government was and will continue to increase taxes for revenue. BT was still making a profit. BP was making a tidy little sum in cessation products. Big hospital and BP were making a killing treating smoking related illnesses.
Then vaping came along with all the promises of better health, longer life and unknown at the time even freedom from the very thing that was supposedly the evil lynch pin holding it all together. The ghostly specter
of skull and bones striking down generation and generation of our children with the unholy curse of "NICOTINE ADDICTION" . This sounds good doesn't it?,but wait there's more. This is also why 20-30 maybe forty years down the road vaping will just die off. If the total market share of vapers and smokers together remains as it is today (I can see no reason why it shouldn't) at some point in time there will be more lifetime non-tobacco users entering the market than reformed smokers. Eventually most if not all new users will have never used tobacco. This is the problem,if life time non-tobacco users do not develop a dependency to nicotine what happens then. Will vaping maintain its market share or just turn into a passing fad and slowly die a natural death.Nothing is for sure but one thing. With out the deeming regs all that money our opponents are getting now will be long gone. Taxing vaping to death wont help in the long run as without the hook of nicotine to keep the lifetime non-tobacco users hooked they will just walk away with out batting an eye.
This is way vaping must go away and stay away. If you have have read the deeming regs you now know that anything that threatens the status quo will be made to go away and stay away."
Remember this is just my opinion.
Thank you and Regards,
Mike
