Totally, and I don't think this is a long shot. Real talk....this topic would give them a world of comedy to choose from at our expense as well. But it's fully worth it. Nothing is more effective than when a comedian like him confirms the stereotypes that everyone laughs at, and then follows it up with "oh, and even if you find this whole thing silly, it could save millions of lives."

I really think this should be our target. Not sure how to best reach the show, but I'll do some research today.
But this is the type of effort that a PR agency can accomplish, because they have the contacts to make it happen.

I GOT IT!!!!

We go to the Capitol Barber shop and collect hair clippings off the floor every day for the next 88 days. On day 89, we throw them all in a jar with PG, VG, Nic, and horse-poo flavoring, then we offer it for sale at someone's vape shop.

After 88 days of collection, we could say we have high confidence that we have at least one senator, one congressman, and one regulators hair in our juice- even if we don't, we could never PROVE that we don't, right.

Then they'd have to regulate all those idiots as tobacco products.

Problem solved. You're all welcome.

When you first started this, I thought you about to advocate for voodoo...

I have been noticing all the comments about the effectiveness of signing petitions.
IMHO if the only thing they accomplish is to let our opponents know we are still
here with out going quietly into the night so be it. Every avenue of approach must
be covered. Every angle of attack must be utilized. Petitions might not goad them
into taking action but, I don't see that is the point. They let them know we know.
In the wee hours of the night when they drift awake for a moment of conscious thought
and it comes to them, they know. That's enough for me.

Also take into consideration that due to economic and health related mobility and
other health related issues, petitions may be the only way for some to contribute to
the cause. Lets not dilute their modest efforts by not participating in these petition
drives.

Regards
Mike

I know. Seriously now, the issue of random petitions has been discussed (hotly) here for years. I don't think they do any harm, but they don't do much good either. Just read the response I posted--they don't give a :censored:.

Why would they do any harm? They can do good but it takes A LOT of man power and money. Just last year we (well the city) got a certain herb on the ballot through a petition, but it took tons of signatures, and thousands of dollars to do it.

In addition, I use double-sided 3M UHB/VHB tapes, bondic, q-tips, lighting gel sheets, solder, wire, superglue, hot glue, paints, screws, and all kinds of crazy contraptions for mixing and shaking. Where would it stop?
We need to compile a list of everything that has the potential to fall into the "intended use" hell.

Come to think of it, probably easier to list things that don't.

I am going to agree that this could have some merit...
Then you must have staff solely dedicated to the direction and outreach to both the press, and direction of social media. These efforts are tracked, measured, and followed up on by said staff. Everyone in the organization follows the lead of marketing. No one out of step. Hiring a public relations company, or creating one by people who know how, is advised.
But I doubt CASAA can afford that at this time.

Now if every one of their 120,000 plus members donated $10 today...
That would be a start.

Is that the very best way for them to use their funds?
I don't know, and I couldn't say.
:(

I can advise if need be CASAA or anyone else, but I am retired/disabled.
Contact them at board@casaa.org

You can donate your $100 to CASAA.

Unfortunately for me, every representative in my district is on the naughty (anti-vaping) list, starting with Senator Boxer.

Although I still advocate and send emails and call, I might as well pee in the wind, really.

Don't all those politicians now have to win election to Mexico government now.

... but it took tons of signatures, and thousands of dollars to do it.

Money I Saved Last Year from Not Smoking Cigarettes --- $1,500
Net Worth of the 2016 USA e-Cigarette Market --- 4.3 Billion Dollars
Saving even 15% of the 400,000 People who Die Yearly from Smoking Related Illnesses --- Priceless

I don't want to relitigate the subject of petitions here. I expressed my views many times before (last time here).

If somebody wants to sign a petition, by all means, do sign. But read it carefully first and make sure you know what you're signing. I've seen several poorly worded petitions that actually directly conflicted with CASAA's CTAs.

Well, this is pretty much my worst fear. It's sounds like the big groups are going to focus on Litigation, everyone can do their part for Legislative....but Public Opinion/Grassroots? *crickets*

That's why I've been preaching the 'we need a leader' thing. Forgive me for being a broken record, but I'm seeing a huge hole in strategy right there. It's like a thousand trees are about to fall in various forests around the US, but no one will be around any of them to make a sound.
I don't agree. Give this some time. You'll see a coalescing. The regs were just announced a few days ago.

My suggestion would be to liason with CASAA and get their input.
And liason with Oliver and get his input.

If either one says we should move on that, then let's get a banner up.
I'm not sure why we wouldn't want to though.

But there are only so many banners you can put up.
And figuring out the BEST way to martial our "forces" might take a few days.

Thankfully, there are a lot of options to consider.
:)
I agree. I doubt they're taking their time. Probably working very hard.

499 pages of convoluted contradicting doubletalk, and then all those pages and pages and pages of FDA's oh-so-helpful document on submission advice, which from initial browsing could be summed up as "Don't Bother".

Yet? I've been doing it for years.

As for Twitter, I'd rather eat a baby seal.
I've done my part over the years, but thanks for asking.

Time for those that Tweet to show what they can do.
As for me, I'll stick to emails, phone calls, and writing letters for now.

Stop right there!!! Is the baby seal FDA approved? How do you know it doesn't pose a threat to public safety? If you want to consume it, you must first submit a PMBSA. It will take 24 months for the FDA to consider looking at it, but by then you will have to file a PMSA, because after 24 months it won't be a baby anymore.

O defiantly, I read the petition before I singed it. I didn't sign the {other stuff} petition because it only allowed 10 manufactures to get licenses. The number one rule for petitions is read before you sign.
