I only feel bad for the secretaries, that did not have anything to do with the making of the regulations, having to listen to millions of irate citizens.
Yeah, I feel bad for them, too, but I feel even worse for those millions of irate citizens.

Nope they will just seize all the unapproved products at customs just like they do with unapproved food and drug products.

If I had a chip company that got put out of business by the deeming rules I would release all drawings and part numbers and schematics on open source so we could just make our own chips. The software is already out there. Open source so all us DIY'RS can just press on with pride. Can they really stop China from selling to us on the internet? Just asking if anyone knows.

If you label your product as "not to be used with nicotine e liquid"
Of course your talking two three years down the road for this and if the law suites keep pouring in, all this could change before then ..........

I wonder if they have the man power to inspect all the nail from China?

Surely not, but I bet packages from FT and others like them will get special scrutiny.

They have some pretty sophisticated automated inspection systems out there, with "pattern" recognition. Think airport security, only automated at Customs import facilities. I bet a lot of stuff starts getting seized in 2-3 years!

Edited to add: Just think back 2-3 years ago. They did a pretty good job at slowing down battery imports via mail!

Customs!!!! Just like they did back in 2009 with njoy.

From the FDA
"Office of compliance and enforcement has been preparing for day 91."
"If needed- we work with law enforcement to stop ilicit trade- but we can't talk about it openly."
Yep and they will be much better prepared now to intercept the illegal vape items at customs.

Perhaps as early as this summer. Not sure how they are going to handle the NO new vape devices thing with imports...
Probably a new customs declaration form.

You'll be fine as long as you have everything wrapped in Louis Vuitton bags and sprinkled with canadian pharmacy pills.

If it is vaping hardware it is irrelevant how you intend to use it as I understand it under the current regs.
Flavorings and PG/VG and Batteries it might work though.

Ugh, I'm gonna have to start labelling my 18650s at home for flashlights and e-cigs.

Interesting. CASAA just told me I should call the FDA with my questions.
I'm not sure the examples below are what I will ask, but maybe I will call them.
Every time I have a question!
Hello, FDA? Where are my glasses?
Hello? FDA? Can you make me a sandwich?

CASAA has been receiving a high volume of calls and emails from consumers and small businesses regarding how the FDA Deeming regulations will affect them. Fortunately, the FDA has set up a hotline to answer your questions.

    Please take a moment today
To reach out to FDA at:
    1.877.287.1373
(Operators are standing by to assist you with your FDA Deeming clarification needs.)

Some of the questions that CASAA has received that might be more appropriately answered by FDA include:

    • Will I still be able to DIY at home or do I need to register as a tobacco manufacturer?
    • I have an e-liquid line coming out next week. Will I be able to sell it?
    • Will kanthal wire and cotton balls now be considered tobacco products?
    • Will I have to pay to sample e-liquid even it it’s zero nicotine?
    • Can I sell my device to a friend even if I’m not a shop owner?
    • Can I give my old equipment to a friend who wants to stop smoking?
    • Is my device a tobacco product even though I use it with zero nicotine?
    • If I buy vegetable glycerine from a vape store, is it a tobacco product? If yes, what about if I buy it at a Walmart?
    • And so on…

If you have ANY question, the responsible thing to do is ASK THE FDA! Even if you know an expert vaper, you should call the FDA to confirm their analysis of the deeming regulation
But I don't see the questions I have in mind on that list. I mean, I know the answers already, I just want to ask to see what kind of idiotic bull they give as an answer. Things like:
-Why do you want people to keep smoking?
-Why do you ignore real science, and peddle junk science to support your position?
-Are you an actual idiot or do you just play one on TV?

    Gotcha.

If Western Union knowing takes part in a Transaction involving the purchase of a Product that does Not Meet FDA Requirements, can Western Union be held Legally Accountable?

I'm not a lawyer, but if you pay me 50 bucks, I can sure act like one for a few minutes.
